Anyone else fancy a grouch at having Covid? I’m a few days in, feeling like crap and fed up with the world in general.

Tea and sympathy to anyone in a similar position?

Happy you have to rest
I’d that’s how you feel pare it right back and rest rest rest xx

Onceuponatimethen · 23/11/2021 22:04

I had some bad news today (nothing really bad just a bit upsetting) and I feel so much worse again. Chest pain on the right side is really sharp. I think I’m going to have to tell work I still can’t do anything online (tomorrow is day 6)

lemon12 · 23/11/2021 22:17

@Vampyhooch1987 glad you are feeling better

greyhairgoaway · 23/11/2021 22:49

@Happydaysandhappysmiles

Sorry me again, has anyone seen any research on a link between long covid and doing too much after having covid? Worried about continuing to just feel like a having a bad cold (with added extras like no sense of smell and a bit spaced out and taking lots of inhalers)and then just whizzing back to normal including fairly strenuous activity the weekend after next....and ending up with long covid.
Take it easy and build yourself up gradually. If you overdo it you may find some of your symptom return. Pacing yourself is really important.

@flowerarrangement it's not usual at all for people who had mild covid, certainly not anywhere near needing to be hospitalised, to get long covid.

HelloMist · 23/11/2021 23:15

Hi @Happydaysandhappysmiles yes will add something here if I come across more.

Your other question: Zoe research suggested the more symptoms you got in the first week the higher your chance was of long Covid. Plus some other factors like age, sex, pre-existing medical conditions etc. covid.joinzoe.com/us-post/long-covid

it still doesn't mean you will go on to have it if you fit these. But seems like it isn't something much in your control (so won't be all down to overdoing it when recovering). Still, I hope you can rest a bit.

Boiledeggandtoast · 24/11/2021 07:43

Thanks for the link HelloMist. I'm on day 38, much improved but still get recurring headaches and fatigue.

Quicksilver15 · 24/11/2021 09:24

Did any of you check to see when an LFT test came up negative again, how long after getting symptoms and the original diagnosis? I’m not talking about a PCR as I know those can be positive for a month or more!!

flowerarrangement · 24/11/2021 10:52

I've done a LFT this morning and it is negative.

I woke up at 3am freezing, shivering and teeth chattering, very odd. Now I have got an upset stomach, still got a headache and a blocked ear.

I spoke to my GP this morning, she said this is fairly normal for Delta and has told me to take next week off, written a sick note and booked me in for another consultation on 3/12.

I really hope I am well enough to go back to work by 6/12.

Yes you need to wait a month.
OP posts:
PurpleDaisies · 24/11/2021 11:08

A month from when you got covid (test or symptoms)

OP posts:
the80sweregreat · 24/11/2021 11:23

Thank
You ! I'll cancel the one on the 10th

Quicksilver15 · 24/11/2021 12:08

Oh thanks I was talking about people that had already tested positive! How long until an LFT shows negative again after symptoms end or even later?

Onceuponatimethen · 24/11/2021 15:34

Just went downstairs to get something and realised I’m still too breathless to be able to do that comfortably.

snaxinyourslacks · 24/11/2021 16:41

Has anyone done the antibody test? I've just received mine and I'm alarmed at the amount of blood needed from a finger prick!

Tonight I feel ' spaced out ' and my body doesn't feel like my own ( if that makes any sense ) I'm ok sitting about , but walking anywhere is an effort and I need to just sit down again. It's just so weird.

Softpebbles · 24/11/2021 18:32

Day 7 and I’m still wheezy and my sinuses feel like they are on fire despite paracetamol. I did some work today but I really struggled.

loveablequalities · 24/11/2021 19:06

Day 10. Did stuff today like looked after my 4 yo and put away the supermarket delivery and now I am totally wiped out. Still not able to eat. The thought of going back to work is not pleasant.

Honestly, it fills really quickly. Part of the bottom of the tube is the reagents. Much less scary when you actually do it and very satisfying to post (especially since you’re allowed to leave the house to do it!) . Mine came back positive which I was pleased about.

Can I join the moan fest? Day 5 here and have felt terrible the last 24 hours. Barely moved out of bed/off the sofa and feel like a total failure as I can't look after our 14 week old baby properly, or our 2 dogs. My OH has been brilliant but I just feel so crap. He has had it but hasn't been as affected and daughter has tested positive too but seems better today than yesterday 🤞 I don't know how many more days I can cope with feeling like this. Pity party for one going on here!

Also feel spacey, it's weird isn't it!

Thank you! Eek not nice to see that asthmatics are more likely to develop long covid..

Day 16 today…was feeling better yesterday and today until the afternoon…now my throat feels sore, the Covid type headache has returned, and I feel tired 🤦🏻‍♀️ Has this happened to anyone else? Could I have picked up a cold?! Or is it the effects of Covid making a re-appearance? It’s so frustrating. I went back to work on Monday. Going to take some paracetamol and take myself off to bed.
