Anyone else fancy a grouch at having Covid? I’m a few days in, feeling like crap and fed up with the world in general.

Tea and sympathy to anyone in a similar position?

Day 14 ish. Still having bouts of complete exhaustion and brain fog, plus awful stomach pains after eating the last two days which I'm putting down to stress + Covid :(

yoshiblue · 21/11/2021 11:35

@Lovesicecreams

What I meant was it must be a relief to know for sure, but sorry you are in the club
Haha! I get it Grin Any news from you yet?

Now Day 5 and very runny nose but aches/headache better....not ready to believe I'm over the worse yet though

lemon12 · 21/11/2021 11:43

@PurpleDaisies
Ive tested positive for covid
Ive had 2 injections and a booster.
I also had covid in march 20.
I was shocked!

elliesmummy19 · 21/11/2021 12:34

Day 10! Last day in isolation woo. I'm so excited to be free tomorrow!

I'm feeling pretty good. All my "symptoms" (I haven't had any of the typical ones) have gone away except for occasional breathlessness and pain in my chest. I have a wheeze and sound like a smoker when I laugh. Otherwise I'm feeling pretty much normal.

Did I mention how excited I am to be able to go out tomorrow?!

spiderlight · 21/11/2021 14:31

Hello :(

Does anyone else have what i can only describe as the Rage? I'm on day 6 (I think) and over the worst of the fluey symptoms apart from my sinuses feeling like a sewer, but I have been getting waves of the most vile anger, like the worst PMT imaginable. It's usually over stupid things and my poor DH and DS have both had to suffer me having the most disproportionate go at them over the past couple of days.

I'm also finding the total loss of taste and smell really, really unpleasant. I've just stood in the kitchen wailing 'I just want something nice!!' - I'm a bit of a comfort eater but I'm not getting any comfort whatsoever from food, or even from tea, which could literally be swamp water. I'm trying to sell this to myself as a pre-Christmas diet, but good grief, it's miserable Sad Have any of you got your smell and taste back?

HelloMist · 21/11/2021 15:16

My exciting first walk today was to go and bin a disposable mask that had blown onto our garden! Angry it's raining and bitterly cold out, so I hadn't managed anything before that.

Actually I did have one walk during my 10 days, to post the optional first antibody test back. The combination of exercise I wasn't used to and stress trying to get myself to bleed enough wiped me out that day. I'm still not right, fatigue-wise. I haven't got my sense of smell back yet. I feel OK otherwise, but I'm anxious about straight going back into a "normal week".

Onceuponatimethen · 21/11/2021 15:23

Now have the positive pcr along with chest pains and breathless, fever and tired!

lemon12 · 21/11/2021 15:39

@Vamphyhooch1987
My husband had antibiotics

DrMadelineMaxwell · 21/11/2021 16:21

@Happydaysandhappysmiles
I didn't start coughing til about day 5. Doubled my preventer straight away and took my blue daily too.

It's common for my ashtma to flare up if I get a sore throat or a heavy cold, so this isn't new and may be the asthma reaction not covid itself.

Day 14.

Feeling wobbly if I get up from sitting still or if I do too much, like climb the stairs twice when I forgot something. Feeling like I had that low BP feeling when you've got up too quickly.

Dodging Mum's today as although I could visit they have dogs that sometimes leave me a bit wheezy due to allergies and I'm not risking aggravating my remaining symptoms.

MondayYogurt · 21/11/2021 16:49

Day 27. Still waking with throat pain but coughing has subsided enough to let me sleep. Slightly phlegmy. Light fatigue, lunchtime nap.

Vampyhooch1987 · 21/11/2021 18:49

Has anyone else been feeling really cold even tho temperature is fine?

Day 11 here

Onceuponatimethen · 21/11/2021 18:50

Me @Vampyhooch1987 have a very slight raised temp at 37.3 where I’m usually 36.5 but have been feeling chilly at night.

Hows he doing now? My chest feels a bit better now the antibiotics are kicking in

Budapestdreams · 21/11/2021 18:57

@MondayYoghurt I'm on about day 22. I am still very fatigued too. Are you still having a lunchtime nap every day?

MondayYogurt · 21/11/2021 20:32

@Budapestdreams Had one today but not every day. It's just that feeling of being disconnected and weak, even though I'm capable of working, walking to the park etc.
I think my resilience has taken a hit. Naps certainly help!

Thank you, my asthma also does that with a cold or cough so have doubled my doses already to hopefully stave anything off

23MinutesfromTuIseHill · 21/11/2021 21:10

@Softpebbles

Day two here and really bad ear ache.

Has anyone else suffered with ear ache?

Yes. Complete with internal itching in the ears.
loveablequalities · 21/11/2021 21:16

@spiderlight

I have rage. I thought it was perhaps a combination of being stuck in the house for a fortnight, hunger, nausea, peri menopause, exhaustion, work being arseholes, my mother choosing NOW to have a go at me, the house like a midden, painful joints, the head from hell...

But it could be covid I suppose BrewWinkAngryGrin

Rainydays55 · 22/11/2021 19:12

Day 19 for me, back in the office today and I am shattered! Got a crazy week at work, boss seems to think I’ve had enough time now and has given me a jam packed schedule :-( how has everyone managed going back into work without making themselves go backwards health wise?

Softpebbles · 22/11/2021 21:14

Oh no @Rainydays55 I am only on day 5 so don’t know. At one point today I thought I could have done some work and I felt a bit of a fraud however tonight I am feeling awful. Like a really heavy head cold but my neck glands must be swollen as talking and moving my jaw hurts.

DrMadelineMaxwell · 22/11/2021 21:30

Day 15 here. I've taken the decision to ask the gp to sign me off until the end of the week as my job (teaching) is full on and there are so many other bugs going around I daren't risk going back while my asthma is still flaring up post-covid (that's what I think is happening). There's no capacity for taking it easy when I go back at all!

I'm getting better day by day but still wheezy and tight chested.

And if I climb the stairs I feel all wobbly and my hearing goes a bit funny the way if you get up from sitting down too quickly. I don't have anything wrong with my BP but do have this happen occasionally normally, especially if I reach up for anything quickly after standing.

Onceuponatimethen · 22/11/2021 23:20

I’m on day 4 if I count from when I first felt ill and felt slightly better today but went downstairs to make a brew and then felt breathless and out of it so came straight back up to bed. Will have to be off sick tomorrow but can’t see me being able to work from home most of this week.

loveablequalities · 23/11/2021 00:14

I'm out of isolation on Thursday but there's no chance of going back. My stomach is terribly upset and if I eat anything at all I am unwell. Aside from the headache and the exhaustion I don't think I would manage to cope with the toilet dash. Definitely feeling slightly better than day 4, 5 and 6 though.

I can't believe I thought I'd be done with it in three or four days. I'm wreaked. Swear to goodness I better have lost weight. There MUST be a silver lining!

Onceuponatimethen · 23/11/2021 07:21

Just woke up on day 6 and I’m tired, headachey, aching back, chest pains, sore eyes and just generally feel unwell. Reaching for painkillers yet again
