Anyone else fancy a grouch at having Covid? I’m a few days in, feeling like crap and fed up with the world in general.

Tea and sympathy to anyone in a similar position?

OP posts:
yoshiblue · 20/11/2021 20:34

@Lovesicecreams I'll join with you, positive lateral flow and waiting for PCR result too! Sore throat, headache, temperature, streaming nose. Just about got enough energy to boss my DH around Grin

Lovesicecreams · 20/11/2021 20:35

@yoshiblue are you me?! Snap to all of that. Sorry you are suffering. What time did you get the pcr done?

yoshiblue · 20/11/2021 20:40

@Lovesicecreams 11am at a drive thru one. Hoping we'll know tomorrow 🤞

Lovesicecreams · 20/11/2021 20:48

I was more or less same time - also drive through so hopefully we both hear by mid morning tomorrow

Did anyone else need to get tested with you?

Happydaysandhappysmiles · 20/11/2021 20:48

Mine was early this morning so hopefully will find out this morning. Pretty sure I have it though 😓

Lovesicecreams · 20/11/2021 20:50

@Happydaysandhappysmiles sorry to hear you also probably have it.

One of my dds has started coughing this evening. Will be really unfair if she has it as she had it in the summer as well

idiotmagnet · 20/11/2021 21:25

Another one here. Day 1. My nose is itching so badly I could happily rip it off my face

Happydaysandhappysmiles · 20/11/2021 21:45

We have tested the whole family. I think I am on day 3 or definitely day 2 but pcr is today

Thisisworsethananticpated · 20/11/2021 21:52

Junibug
I’m so sorry
Sending lots of healing your way too x

Chaosandmadness · 20/11/2021 22:06

@Junibug

Signing in! Husband and I tested positive on Thursday but had a sore throat in Wednesday so guess this is day 4. Slowly getting worse. Sinus pain, pouring nose, throat like sandpaper, chills and aches. Joyous! My DD(3) just seems to have a cough but my poor DS(2) is struggling with temp and breathing. He has Down Syndrome so his immune system isn't great. Please send prayers that his breathing doesn't get any worse - I am starting to get worried as to how I'd look after him if he got super poorly. Thoughts and best wishes to everyone suffering with this at the moment x
I hope your DS is OK
DrMadelineMaxwell · 20/11/2021 22:35

Day 13. Definitely improving but still very tired and easily out of breath. I slept until 11.30 this morning so still need a lot of sleep it seems!

Coughing and spluttering more now again this evening but it's not quite as relentless as it was. Still taking lots of my asthma inhalers to keep on top of it.

When did your breathlessness kick in and did you up your asthma inhalers right at the beginning?
flowerarrangement · 21/11/2021 07:32

Morning, day 7 here and I am feeling better, thank the lord/fairies (insert what you want to).

I did all my Christmas shopping last night, well all bar one or two, one fell swoop ✅.

Planning on a quiet day reading and hand sewing a curtain.

Sending good wishes to everyone in COVIDland.

lemon12 · 21/11/2021 07:33

I had a very sore back like sunburn

flowerarrangement · 21/11/2021 07:34

Replying to your breathlessness question to DrM , Happy.

I am asthmatic, I haven't got any breathlessness but I did double my Seratide on day 1 to 500 rather than 250 and I was already on a course of oral steroids for it. Finish them today.

I am relieved tbh, the breathing side of COVID is slightly terrifying as a severe asthmatic.

idiotmagnet · 21/11/2021 07:58

@Happydaysandhappysmiles

Any one else on day 2 or maybe 3 as cold symptoms sort of started on Thursday. LFT positive today am just now feeling crappy and wondering what to do with my time (self isolating from my family at least until all pcr's back)
Day 2/3 here - ds's pcr is positive and my lft is positive so waiting for pcr confirmation. Feeling pretty rough. Cough, freezing and then sweating, nose running, feeling totally exhausted but not sleeping brilliantly. Ho hum.
Lovesicecreams · 21/11/2021 08:17

I feel really similar to lots of you - really tired but had bad night of sleep. Lft was positive but pcr not back yet.

Dds PCRs are back and they are both negative

Lovesicecreams · 21/11/2021 08:18

So I guess the dd who is coughing has a different virus (cough/cold) from me? She’s 90 days + 2 from testing positive from covid in the summer. All very baffling

yoshiblue · 21/11/2021 08:19

@Lovesicecreams my positive test came through this morning, so I'm official in 'the club!'

Lovesicecreams · 21/11/2021 08:22

@yoshiblue might give it a go!

Lovesicecreams · 21/11/2021 08:22

Sorry covid brain

Lovesicecreams · 21/11/2021 08:23

What I meant was it must be a relief to know for sure, but sorry you are in the club

Onceuponatimethen · 21/11/2021 08:42

I’ve been checking my oxygen sats on cheap pulse oximeter we had in. Day 3 for me since positive lft on day 1. Still waiting for pcr. Day 1 sats were 99, 98 on day 2, 97 today. So going down but still fine.

Thanks, have just upped my inhalers and added the blue one inbetween too. Way off the max dose and just feeling that might stave things off.

We are a house of plague here now, makes logistics easier though!
