Anyone else fancy a grouch at having Covid? I’m a few days in, feeling like crap and fed up with the world in general.

Tea and sympathy to anyone in a similar position?

Thanks Rule . I'm not going to go back before Monday. Still struggling a lot with my breathing and determined not to rush into anything that i will regret. Everything else except the breathlessness and the fatigue has settled down now. Im getting a bit impatient to start feeling normal again. Normally I have a bug for a day or two and feel better quickly. So this is weird.

yellowstoneranch · 19/11/2021 03:44

I can't sleep tonight, still awake waiting for the sandman!

itmeansnothingtome · 19/11/2021 05:22

Glad to have found this thread for company. Can't sleep tonight either. Finally caught covid and have had the full range of symptoms over the last few days, not all at once, every day has been different. Fully vaccinated but last one was 6 months ago and not had booster yet.

I was most worried about my cough and breathing a couple of nights ago but now that feels fine. I also had that headache many of you describe. Worst thing tonight is a v painful throat and ears. And the sweats and chills. Taste and smell mostly gone.

My first symptom was complete loss of my voice which came back and only realised it was covid a couple of days later when it turned into cough and breathing issues. LFT strong positive line then confirmed by PCR. Not really sure what day I am on but I put cough as official start of symptoms for isolation so day 5.

DD8 had it a couple of months ago and I didn't isolate from her but didn't get it then. So strange. DD4 and DP not showing any symptoms, waiting on their PCRs. Thankfully I can wfh.

Freedom day for me. I've managed a bit of work from home over the last few days but yesterday only 2 hours and I was exhausted. My main symptom is still an extreme burning pain in my nose and sinus pain mainly on my left side which seems to be dragging on. No sense of smell although I have some semblance of taste coming back.

MrsTumbletap · 19/11/2021 11:45

Feel a lot better today, the headache has gone after 12 days! Now on day 13.

Still feel a but sicky and dizzy but it's so much more manageable.

I've been following this thread for 2 weeks as my dear mum tested positive for covid on the 5/11/21. Sadly mum passed away on the 12th. She was admitted to hospital on the 8th due to breathlessness, hospital put her on a ventilator on the 9th. She had pneumonia and sepsis aswell. Please be aware of the symptoms of sepsis as we weren't and if we were we would have got her seen earlier. We assumed that 10 days isolation unless breathlessness occurs. She was very tired and confused the day she went in. We can't bring her back but we are trying to make people aware that other factors can occur which make covid worse and although we are told to isolate and rest we should get help if we feel we are getting worse.

Thank you & sorry for your loss :(

I wonder whether there are any obvious signs of sepsis that are different from general feelings of being unwell?

Looking at the list it can be hard to distinguish and may be why some people wait before seeking help.

Hi everyone, please can I join in? Day 11 here and still feeling so fatigued! I’m honestly so fed up of feeling like this. First day outside the house today, I took my son to school and went into a couple of shops this morning, it was effort to say the least! I’ve just come back from a short walk as I felt I needed some fresh air and now I’m feeling a bit heavy in my chest. Headache keeps making an appearance here and there. Pain is at the back of my head atm and is sometimes at the front. This virus is horrid. Sending a speedy recovery to everyone else feeling rubbish x

Vampyhooch1987 · 19/11/2021 16:16

Hows everyone feeling? Day 9 for me and chest is a bit better today but had a headache all day, not sure whether it’s covid related or through the antibiotics x

loveablequalities · 19/11/2021 16:51

I've just been reading the thread. Not sure if it's comforting or not!

Day five for me and I've been getting steadily worse. I'm absolutely exhausted and so sore all over. My husband wasn't anything like as bad as this!

My partner was the same. He had it really mild
MondayYogurt · 19/11/2021 17:56

Bit of an odd one but now that my nose has dried up I seem to get a constant smell. It's the smell you get when you turn on a dusty old lamp and all the dust gets hot and burns.
I did say it was odd!
But it's so strong I got up twice last night to try and find the source.
Anyone's sense of smell go weird?

Thisisworsethananticpated · 19/11/2021 18:01

Yes ! Mine smelt of cigarettes
That said I’ve had builders so maybe it was !!!!

I left the house today and cleaned 🧼

I think being off work sick has stressed me more than I realised , hopefully this weekend rest and by day bloody 14 normality ? Maybe ?

flowerarrangement · 19/11/2021 18:26

Very tired here five days in. I've just had a huge nosebleed. I feel unwell enough not to want to do anything, but on the other hand I am very very bored.

Softpebbles · 19/11/2021 19:47

Day two here and really bad ear ache.

Has anyone else suffered with ear ache?

itmeansnothingtome · 19/11/2021 19:57

@Softpebbles

Day two here and really bad ear ache.

Has anyone else suffered with ear ache?

Yes. Last night I woke with excruciating ear pain. Have had every symptom there is so far but that's been the worst/most painful. I am finding the complete loss of smell and taste the most disturbing though as unlike anything I've had before.
flowerarrangement · 19/11/2021 19:59

Yes me too - excruciating ear pain for two days day three and four.

loveablequalities · 20/11/2021 10:30

How's everyone feeling this morning?

I had high hopes of feeling a bit better today because I managed to eat a wee bit of my tea last night but I woke up with my head in a vice and feeling like I was on a ship. Feeling very sorry for myself.

flowerarrangement · 20/11/2021 10:31

Same here loveable, still really unwell, my ears are blocked and hurting. I’ve had more nosebleeds.

Softpebbles · 20/11/2021 10:44

Woke up feeling dreadful but feel better than I did after some fluids, paracetamol and toast.

Like a bad head cold but also wheezy.

DD has had a nosebleed. I presume it’s from the pressure.

Chest is a bit better with antibiotics but head still hurts and feels a bit swimmy if that makes sense
Rainydays55 · 20/11/2021 11:14

Day 17 for me, I’ve worked from home all week and managed to do a lot, been out to local shops , a couple of short walks etc but I am feeling tired and got a stinking headache today and feel floaty/like I’m on a boat! Anyone else still feeling the same?!

PurpleDaisies · 20/11/2021 11:15

Same for me @Rainydays55. I feel like I’ve got a cross between a raging hangover and jet lag. I can’t decide if I’m brewing another cold or if it’s covid not quite beaten yet.

Chaosandmadness · 20/11/2021 11:25

Day 20 and I'm not feeling too bad today but then again I haven't done anything all week except sleep and sit on the sofa in my dressing gown. Still have very little appetite but I think that's down to no smell and taste. I have another week off work so am hoping to slowly build up to some activity. I might actually get dressed tomorrow (note I said "might")

Rainydays55 · 20/11/2021 11:27

@PurpleDaisies frustrating isn’t it. I wish it was more out there about how long full recovery can take then I think I’d take some pressure of myself. I’m finding this week I’ve had symptoms I didn’t really have in the first 10 days, very strange. And paracetamol doesn’t seem to be clearing the headaches, no idea how to get rid of the boat/floaty feeling either
