Anyone else fancy a grouch at having Covid? I’m a few days in, feeling like crap and fed up with the world in general.

Tea and sympathy to anyone in a similar position?

Day 18 report: went out for breakfast with colleagues, and about an hour in started feeling headachy, wobbly and like I needed to go home. So maybe I'm not quite as over it as I thought I was! Stupid bloody effing virus Angry

ParishSpinster · 15/11/2021 17:32

Day 14 here and back to work (from home). Feel a bit tired, had a 15 minute walk at lunch. Two meetings and coughed a lot whenever I talked.

I feel like a malingerer. Like I should basically be back to 100%but I am quite tired. But also bored of doing nothing but watch shite on Netflix.

MondayYogurt · 15/11/2021 18:26

Anyone else having to sleep upright to combat coughing? (Day 21 FWIW)

DrMadelineMaxwell · 15/11/2021 22:57

No. Luckily. But I am definitely struggling with the cough and feeling breathless and am talking to my gp tomorrow if I can get through to them. I'll do an e consult instead of waiting on the phone.

JamieFraserskiltspeaksout · 16/11/2021 07:13

No sorry - my cough isn't bad (yet?) - perhaps that is yet to come.
This morning is back to headache and very achy lower back/ chest / shoulders.
How is everyone else? Brew

DrMadelineMaxwell · 16/11/2021 07:39

Day 9. Mostly better apart from the cough which didn't start until several days after my pcr.
I've woken up with a bit of a headache but managed a good nights sleep.

Yesterday I was able to eat fine but I'm not thinking about food at all unless my stomach is really growling. Not snacking (not like me at all) and I can't eat as much as I used to. So I've lost half a stone. Silver linings....

knackeredmumoftwo · 16/11/2021 08:48

Hello - today is Day 21
I am so much better but working reduced hours due to tiredness and dizziness - and a sinus infection which isn't shifting - I'd also add in saline nasal sprays - a revelation to shift snot.
My whole family are struggling with the tiredness and dizziness- teenagers too - it's grim and I am surprised at how bad it is. Come 6/7 it's all we can do to eat and then either lie in the dark if it's bad or watch some tv in silence - talking hurts our heads xxx

TKe care all

elliesmummy19 · 16/11/2021 08:53

I'm on day... 5? (Urgh! How is it only day 5?! Feels like I've been stuck at home for a whole year already).

My cough/chest tightness is my main symptom at the moment. Fever is down (although I still have a fever).

I'm feeling utterly miserable this morning. My brother died from Covid a year ago this morning. It was an awful few weeks before he died. I feel really sad. And I'm just really sick of being stuck at home. Feeling really tearful.

My in-laws are going to take my daughter for a walk this afternoon. I'm in Wales and under 5s don't have to test or isolate (and she doesn't have any symptoms). Not sure if it's the same for the rest of the country. I'm looking forward to the break 😂 She's been really good to be fair. We are never at home usually so she's coped really well with the change this week. We've spent a lot of time in the garden. Thank God for the garden!

Urgh roll on Monday.

Neversaygoodbye · 16/11/2021 09:06

Day 9 I'm still very nasal congested, desperate for that to improve. Didn't have the best night sleep and slightly regretting my decision to attempt some work from home but going to give it a go & see how I get on.

troppibambini6 · 16/11/2021 09:09

Morning.
Feeling down today. I'm out of isolation tomorrow but still not great. My chest is tight and can't take a deep breath without coughing.
I'm just so tired Sad
Yesterday I woke up feeling ok so had a tidy round made the beds, put a wash on hoovered the floors and mopped the kitchen floor.
By 1 I was asleep. I fell asleep on the sofa again at 6.30 and slept til 10.30 went to bed and slept til 7.30 this morning.

Something that was recommended on another thread was codeine for coughing. I've been taking it and it definitely helps it just makes be so sleepy on top of being exhausted:

Boiledeggandtoast · 16/11/2021 09:14

elliesmummy I'm so sorry to hear about your brother. Sending you my heartfelt condolences. I'm glad that you will have some time to yourself this afternoon, I'm sure you need it.

Dontlickthetrolley · 16/11/2021 11:53

Day 4 and test and trace saying they hope I have a lovely day, are they taking the piss?!

Etching · 16/11/2021 12:06

Day 2 and I've got really bad earache as well as a pounding headache and fever. Cough is manageable most of the time, I've doubled my asthma inhaler dosage.

T&T are relentless, is this a good time? NO, I was asleep, my temperature is 39 degrees 'oh we'll call tomorrow'.

Etching · 16/11/2021 12:07

elliesmummy - sorry I missed that - best wishes, it must be really tough.

MondayYogurt · 16/11/2021 12:22

@elliesmummy19 I'm sorry, it's so gruelling

DrMadelineMaxwell · 16/11/2021 12:38

I havent heard anything from test and trace. I was expecting phone calls but have had none.

FrasierCraneDay · 16/11/2021 12:51

Day 3 for me and just feel like I have a cold, temp is staying down so don't need any meds. I'm thanking my lucky stars I can work from home, if I had to sit in for 10 days doing nothing but feeling fine I'd crack.
For those feeling rough I really hope you're all on the mend soon

troppibambini6 · 16/11/2021 13:00

I've had a call on day 1,3,7 and 9. To be fair they've been ok.
Decided my aim for today is to stay awake. It will be the first day I've not slept in the day if I make it.
Nothing like aiming high...Grin

Budapestdreams · 16/11/2021 13:08

Good luck! I'm on day 16 or 17 and haven't managed to stay awake all day yet.

HJJ88 · 16/11/2021 13:11

Hi all, been reading this thread past few days thought I would join in. Positive LFT last Wednesday same day PCR came back Positive Thursday. Day 7 of being symptomatic feel worse today so exhausted has anyone else felt so so tired also chest feels heavy today. Took an LFT just because and the line is a lot fainter then it was last Wednesday, does this mean anything?

Etching · 16/11/2021 13:14

I had three emails and four texts within three hours of the positive PCR message .... I was asleep.

PCR confirmation was early hours of yesterday morning, just checked my phone and three T&T phone calls within 24 hours.

Budapestdreams · 16/11/2021 14:54

@HJJ88 I think the fainter line on the LFT means that there is less virus in your nose/throat. Within a few days you won't be able to transmit it to anyone, BUT you may still have symptoms for days or weeks after that point.
Fatigue is the most common symptom to persist, but loss of taste and smell can linger, as can a cough.

Vampyhooch1987 · 16/11/2021 14:57

I’m currently on day 5 and chest feels a bit better today but still coughing up phlegm. Parents said it’s worth ringing docs to see if I have a chest infection however I don’t have a temperature 🤒
Anyone else feeling dizzy and legs hurting?!

Cheermonger · 16/11/2021 14:58

I’ve not had any phone calls at all, just three texts which isn’t obtrusive at all. Weird how different T&T contact is for us all

Etching · 16/11/2021 16:35

Weird isn't it Cheermonger.

I am thinking of getting up and having some soup. I feel grim, nothing too chesty but head, throat, eyes, ears and I am hot and shivery.

I've not eaten today yet.
