Anyone else fancy a grouch at having Covid? I’m a few days in, feeling like crap and fed up with the world in general.

Tea and sympathy to anyone in a similar position?
@elliesmummy19 do you mean like floppy and no strength to do anything in your arms? So if someone lifted one up it would just flop down like a dead weight. I often have that weird feeling if I get a virus. Had it a bit this time, but not so much. I still have terrible ringing in my ear though!
Yes that's it! I'm very rarely sick so it's probably just a general virus thing.

Feeling properly rough this morning. Day 3.

Thisisworsethananticpated · 14/11/2021 10:05

Day 7
I did sleep well finally (thanks to 2 string painkillers and a nytol)
But I’m still like a zombie 🧟‍♀️ with aches , headaches , no appetite etc

I can’t see myself returning to full time work tomorrow

RuleWithAWoodenFoot · 14/11/2021 10:12

Do you need to return to full time work tomorrow? I wouldn't have been able to on day 7/8. I'm on day 11 today, back to work tomorrow, have already told them I'm taking it easy.

My worst days were 4 - 7, I think partly because I expected to feel better by then, but actually got a bit worse and then not really any better. Since then things have improved, but I still get the crushing tiredness thing - not sleepiness, tiredness.

Thisisworsethananticpated · 14/11/2021 10:29

It’s a funny one as we all know how work can be
And they seem to think one week off = better

But I can’t and need to be brave and say so

Worrying about my job has been one of the worst issues with this

troppibambini6 · 14/11/2021 10:53

Day 8. Cough is worse, chest is tight, feel a bit breathless and achey kidneys. Apart from that and the woolly head feeling and the tiredness I'm feeling a bit better.

Feel for all the people worrying about work, that's the last thing you need when feeling unwell.

RuleWithAWoodenFoot · 14/11/2021 11:13

My cough is worse today than it has been all along. Not really bad, just there.

'Luckily' for me I have a colleague who is 3 weeks ahead of me at school. She came back for the day after half term, then got signed off for the week, then has been signed off for another 2 weeks. Work know how it can be. I'm never off sick either, so if I am, they'll know it's for real reasons.

RoseGallica · 14/11/2021 11:34

Well day 28 here. Have had a few good days but feeling totally wiped out and weak again today. Days 1 - 5 fever, chills, sweating, Headache, aching all over, dizziness, gagging. Since then fatigue and vertigo but now feeling like I will feel like this forever. So fed up.

Rainydays55 · 14/11/2021 11:42

My first day out of isolation, so day 12, I drove five minutes into town this morning and had a mooch around for about 30 mins, drove back and I felt rubbish :-( tired / drained and sicky …. I’m so disappointed how can I feel so crappy after being out for less than an hour?!

ParishSpinster · 14/11/2021 12:01

I'm beginning to feel ok - day 13. Still have a cough but it isn't as bad as before.

I do have really sore armpits though - my lymph nodes/glands are swollen and I can feel them.

Off to the supermarket today.

SpookyScarySkeletons · 14/11/2021 12:10

Hope everyone who is suffering gets better very soon!

Day 13 here and apart from a bit of a cough I am tickety boo!

Thisisworsethananticpated · 14/11/2021 12:27

RoseGallica
That’s terrible
This thread has really helped me as I’m clearly not alone
It’s really a horrible horrible virus isn’t it

I kind of understand now why the world has stopped for it

And this is after a vaccine !!!!

RoseGallica · 14/11/2021 12:49

Yes it’s helped me too although now a bit envious of those feeling better in a few days. But last weekend I felt much better and then crashed again. Flowers for all of us.

Neversaygoodbye · 14/11/2021 12:53

Day 7 and my nose is slightly less painful today, hoping that this could be the start of turning a corner. Yesterday evening I felt really low which is very unlike me, I just don't do "feeling ill". I want to get back on my bike and Zwift, I want to get out and go for a long walk....maybe the fact I'm feeling these things is also a positive sign? My DS 14 who's isolation ends on Tuesday is feeling better which is such a relief, I was more worried about him than for me. He hasn't been outside since last Sunday when he went for his PCR and today said he might go in the garden and kick a ball around, he's normally so active and I think the lack of inclination to go outside says it all about how rubbish he's felt. Bless him though, he's not moaned at all.

yellowstoneranch · 14/11/2021 15:48

Actually slept all night, woke up at 7am as needed a wee. Got back in bed and slept until 10:30. Have managed to shower and wash my hair today - currently sat on sofa thinking I might need a nap 😴 feel like I'm making very slow improvements every day

musicstand · 14/11/2021 15:50

Day 1 here, I took a LFT before going to an event this morning and it is positive, so I took another one. I felt absolutely fine at 6am but am now cold and shivery with a stuffed up head. PCR results awaited.

I'm asthmatic so hoping I don't get too poorly 😬.

cookiesandtea · 14/11/2021 16:26

I'm on day 2 and really struggling.

Not with COVID. I mean I feel "off" and dizzy/headachy but fine.

I feel awful mentally. I feel trapped in a prison that I can't leave. I'm not used to it. I'm an out and about person.

I feel like I've been forgotten about and there's a whole world out there...I know it's weird but it's how I feel :(

Cheermonger · 14/11/2021 16:29

Day 5 here and feeling tired and weepy. Just so lethargic and my eyes are burning. Woe is me. Sending everyone hugs

FrasierCraneDay · 14/11/2021 16:29

Positive lft this morning, thought I was just coming down with a cold but tested before I went out just in case, good job I did. Have a high temp that's coming down with paracetamol and a fuzzy head. I'm only allowing myself to sit for half an hour before I get up and so something, the house is a tip and I can't rest until it's tidy.

RuleWithAWoodenFoot · 14/11/2021 16:30

I've been for a walk, to a garden centre and to the pub for lunch. I feel OK - just a bit head-y as if I have a cold. Probably time for me to bow out of this thread. Thanks for the company!

Those who are just starting out - here is a handy moan option and it stops you feeling quite so isolated. My advice is loads and loads of crisps.

DrMadelineMaxwell · 14/11/2021 16:34

Strictly, your lft positive is day 0. They start counting the day after your positive test.

I'm due back at work on thurs. Im pretty ok in myself apart from the breathlessness. My oxygen sats are fine. But I constantly feel like I should be taking my asthma inhalers. But obviously it's not my asthma so they don't really help.

Rainydays55 · 14/11/2021 16:44

@RuleWithAWoodenFoot that’s brilliant what you have done today, well done !
My first day out of isolation hasn’t been very eventful, been out in the car twice to nip into town briefly, and spent 15 mins mooching around the garden twice 🙈. Not feeling great, maybe a bit worse than yesterday which is really frustrating, feel tired, got a headache and feeling spaced out on and off. Just don’t seem to be able to shift it….Day 12 ☹️.

teaandtoastwithmarmite · 14/11/2021 17:21

Day 7. Smell returning slightly. Feel like I have a hangover today. Feel knackered and putting clean sheets on my bed made me out of breath. Watched MAFS all day. Good for you @RuleWithAWoodenFoot

teaandtoastwithmarmite · 14/11/2021 17:22

@cookiesandtea I totally get that. I felt like that too
Andoffwego · 15/11/2021 08:33

Is anyone 2 weeks or so in and not getting better? I feel absolutely dreadful. The cold type symptoms have gone but I have a lingering cough, headache, full body aches, nausea, I’m shaky, and I’m exhausted. I can barely get out of bed for a few hours still. I don’t have a high temperature though so I’m assuming I haven’t got an infection anywhere. Is this normal?

I'm the same as you. No energy, lightheaded, feeling detached from the world, no concentration and every little thing exhausts me. I should be back at work today but can barely get out of bed.
