I feel more human today, still off food, and very tired.

Torvean · 24/12/2021 15:40

Good to hear Dreamer. Seems Novavax only care about US 🇺🇸. Even though they cheated whilst blinded....

Dreamer1989 · 26/12/2021 18:32

Is 7 days too long to be sick? I am better than I was, but still just pathetic. Needing to lay down most of the time, not up to eating properly etc

It was about 9 days for us and the fatigue lasted about 3 weeks. It really sucks. I hope you are feeling better soon.
Frazzled2207 · 26/12/2021 20:48

Well done to those if you still hanging in there
I feel rather more jabbed up than I’d like to be tbh with 2 novavax, 2 Moderna and Pfizer booster earlier this week. All three of the mRNA vaccines gave me a dodgy day the following day but reading other experiences I think I got away lightly.

A few weeks ago ds and dh got covid and the novavax and Moderna combination clearly worked to some degree as I managed to avoid despite no measures whatsoever to distance myself.

Day 9 and I do feel better, made it to the shops for more painkillers! Everything exhausts me, back to bed I go.

Dreamer1989 · 29/12/2021 13:15

Day 10 and I am human again. Minus tiredness but that I can deal with.

This is great news @Dreamer1989 the tiredness can last a while but so glad you have turned the corner.

My 18DS tested positive yesterday.
He's isolating in his bedroom and me & my DP are delivering meals and being hyper vigilant about surfaces and hand washing.

We'll see how 2 x Novavax 2 x AZ and 1 x Moderna booster manages to keep covid away!

Hope he's OK How did you get so many vaccines? 0 chance I'm doing Pfizer again

@Dreamer1989 glad you're getting better. Strange how it's been10 days for a few of us.
So MHRA approval by the 31st??
I'm going for nope.

Dreamer1989 · 30/12/2021 19:56

@Torvean yes its so strange, today is the first day I have felt normal. I wont be havingn a 2nd pfizer, cannot live through this again. There is no way its getting approved anytime soon. It makes me so sad when I read the old letters from the trial, saying “the world owes you a debt of gratitude” - doesnt feel like its ever going to be worth it.

BG2015 · 30/12/2021 19:59

Torvean

I withdrew from the trial after my cancer diagnosis. The trial dr said I'd be fine to get a deployed vaccine, which I did! Mainly so I'd have something to show, passport etc

Immunosuppressed are pushed to have a third vaccine then booster. So figured I'd had 4 vaccines and I'd be ok.

But them omicron surfaces so had the booster too!

KeepingOnKeepingUp · 06/01/2022 16:33

How's everyone with two doses post Novavax holding out against Omicron? I've been trapped in a house with two sick teenagers who have been incapable of self-isolating and wanted hugs all the way through. I assumed I'd get it, so just resigned myself to it, but day 7 and still getting negative LFTs and just got a negative PCR test back as well. So two Novavax plus two Pfizer a year later seem to be good in terms of protection based on one case. I also had Covid right at the start of the pandemic (well, assume I did, no tests were available but all the symptoms were there) so wondering if my T cells were also primed to fight it off.

BG2015 · 06/01/2022 17:09

Still not had it yet...

ItsSnowJokes · 06/01/2022 17:31

We haven't had it as far as we know! We have our 2nd Pfizer on Saturday (praying we don't don't ill again!) Even though or hub tried to dissuade us from having it.

Dreamer1989 · 06/01/2022 18:28

@ItsSnowJokes why have you been told not to have it please?

ItsSnowJokes · 06/01/2022 18:52

They emailed yesterday basically saying as its been approved in Europe you don't really need it for travel and that 4 jabs haven't been studied blah blah blah. We are still going for them as husband is 16 month past vaccine.

I had my final sign off from the trial today, and the doctor there advised me to go for my second Pfizer and not to hang around waiting anymore! She herself had done the same and didn’t have trust in the ‘imminent’ approval of Novavax in the UK
ItsSnowJokes · 08/01/2022 10:49

2nd Pfizer done this morning. I am terrified of what tomorrow may bring! Just need to hope we don't need a booster comes April time.

Vargas · 08/01/2022 13:40

@ItsSnowJokes I felt rotten after first Pfizer but had almost no side effects after second other than sore arm. Hope you have the same.

So I'm 2 x Novavax and 2 x Pfizer, been exposed a number of times and still no Covid for me. Can't believe my Novavax jabs are over a year ago! Crazy. Nice to be fully vaxx approved now though.

ItsSnowJokes · 08/01/2022 14:46

Thank you @Vargas I have heard a lot more people say they had no side effects on 2nd Pfizer. I really hope so, as we were both so bloody ill after 1st one. I have strong painkillers and anti sickness meds from the gp ready and waiting should I need them. I am going to take some before I go to sleep and hope I don't wake up shaking and shivering and vomiting like before!

ItsSnowJokes · 09/01/2022 03:58

Nope fuck you 2nd Pfizer. Temp of 39.2, shivering, chills, nausea, body aches so much. I am done with being ill.

Monkeygirl68 · 09/01/2022 07:05

Oh no , hope you recover quickly….have been waiting to see how you are as I’ve had the same symptoms as you previously and have to have my second Pfizer now too. Guess I’ll have to do-ordinate when I have it, so that I get some help at home….😢
ItsSnowJokes · 09/01/2022 10:55

@Monkeygirl68 a family member has come and picked up our daughter. Husband isn't as bad as last time. He has aches and pains and a headache.

I am exactly the same as last time, I feel absolutely awful and my heart is pounding with a heart rate of 120 as well. If that doesn't settle I am calling 111.

Oh heck, I hope it doesn’t last as long as last time 🤞🏻. I was rather hoping that Novavax would have been approved by now, but when the doctor at the centre told me to have another approved jab, it didn’t strike me with any confidence. She did say that she could request that I have another approved vaccine, as I had such a bad reaction to Pfizer, but I would have to start back at dose 1 again 😱.
With the possible removal of lateral flow testing, I have no way of proving my vaccination status on my NHS app because it’s all cocked up…..
