I've now had 4 vaccines and a booster
2 x Novavax
2 x Astra Zenenca
1 x Moderna booster

I'm in the middle of chemotherapy treatment and so scared of getting Covid and my chemo being delayed.

I've really struggled this weekend after having the booster yesterday, aches, shivers, headache and feeling awful. But it's got to be better than getting covid

KeepingOnKeepingUp · 20/12/2021 07:56

Dreamer, this is my confusion too. Am I now just double jabbed (not great re: Omicron) or double boosted (fantastic). I'm being very cautious but would really like to know the truth about immunity. My suspicion is that 2x Novavax a year ago was great at the time but probably little use now given two doses of AZ more recently doesn't provide protection but I have no data to base that on, of course! Assume in three months time we will all be eligible for a booster and then we'll have caught up with everyone else.

Is anyone else getting regular reminders to book vaccines? My GP has my records and my Covid pass is up to date but I get daily text messages about booking a booster. And a quick experiment shows I can in fact make an appointment online if I try (I haven't, obviously, as I only had dose 2 of Pfizer recently).

Long rough night after first booster of Pfizer. I couldnt sleep, every muscle aches, and my arm is sore.

From the Guardian this morning re EU approval decision today.

Novavax vaccine trial part 4 - STILL waiting for approval
Torvean · 20/12/2021 12:53

EU applied later than us. What are the MHRA doing. I still need Novavax on my records....

Novavax approved by EMA!
Come on, MHRA! Why is the delay?

Torvean · 20/12/2021 16:09

@Woventabby

The rumour is Weds. That's 8 weeks. I have no issue with other countries using Novavax first. I though that the MHRA only had to check manufacturing??

I had an email from my trial today. They're going to arrange travel jabs for me.
Except I was meant to travel on Friday. I had them - arranged by me - in October and November.
Final appointment tomorrow

Good luck.
MrsHamlet · 21/12/2021 10:08

Unblinded this morning. As expected, I had the real stuff in November.
They offered me a booster appointment today 😂

Dreamer1989 · 21/12/2021 11:42

I am so sick! Sweating through my clothes, muscles so heavy and sort.

Torvean · 23/12/2021 01:55

@Dreamer1989 did you have Pfizer?
Bit late for Novavax booster. You can tell which realists they care about. I wish I stood my ground on refusing Pfizer. 2 vaccines I didn't want.
Well done on completing @MrsHamlet
@ItsSnowJokes maybe you can avoid a 2nd Pfizer now.

With Omicron around I think I am going to go for 2nd Pfizer. I really don't know what to do! I have booked for the 8th Jan but I can cancel up to the day before. Its so tricky to know what to do for the best. Husband is going for 2nd no matter what as he is over a year after vaccine.

Dreamer1989 · 23/12/2021 10:03

I did have Pfizer - I am still feeling rough, it was like I had a bad case of flu. My arm is still too sore to touch and I feel wiped out. I really dont want a 2nd dose

MrsHamlet · 23/12/2021 10:17

I had no reaction to the Pfizer at all. Very strange.

Torvean · 23/12/2021 12:48

@Dreamer1989 I was ill with Pfizer. Vomited 5 days. Both times. Wish I held out.

ItsSnowJokes · 23/12/2021 12:52

I was so ill with Pfizer. Don't think I have ever felt that ill. More people are saying they didn't have a reaction to Pfizer 2 which is what is swaying me.

Dreamer1989 · 23/12/2021 13:01

Oh thats hopeful @ItsSnowJokes cos i cannot do this ever afain!

Torvean · 23/12/2021 16:54

@Dreamer1989 novavax may be an option.

Dreamer1989 · 23/12/2021 17:26

I hope so. Day 4 today of feeling shit, its now just energy zapped

Torvean · 23/12/2021 20:15

@Dreamer1989 I was OK by day 7. Hope you're better soon.

ItsSnowJokes · 24/12/2021 05:49

@Dreamer1989 I was the same as Torvean better by day 7. I hope it passes for you soon. It really is awful. My husband was the same as well, we both had to have a week off work.

I think that's only for USA trial participants sadly. They didn't apply for the study in the UK.
