I've just finished. My last appt. Took a while as they couldn't get blood.
I got unblinded and was vaccinated the first time, which was what I'd always thought.
Oh and the Scottish govt are not going to register anyone until Novavax gets its EUA. Total joke.
The said the govt have had hundreds of complaints yet act like they've never heard of us in a meeting..
I don't have any polite words to use.

@doggyg just DM you. Hopefully it arrives this time.

Thanks @Torvean - I got it this time! I'll reply after work Smile

Well my trial team (St Georges) are refusing to let me have an approved vaccine. Their email said that other centres that allow people to have approved vaccines 'are not abiding by the current guidance', but they are.

Yet again, they hope to hear better news 'imminently'. The word 'imminently' appears quite a lot in their emails Hmm.

And no sign of a final appointment.

@vargas I'll send you a dm with the copy of a letter I got to take to a drop in clinic. Its not great as it says basically it's on your own head if you do it.

Tell your trial centre if they're that awkward you want out.
KB told me the JCVI and NHS are currently discussing it and the decision should be released in days.
A discussion that should have started in June really.....

Vargas · 05/10/2021 08:28

Thanks @Torvean. Really hope the JCVI pull their fingers out!

Scottish peeps - all sounds pretty dire generally but someone on the facebook group in Scotland called up the vaccine helpline (?) today, explained her predicament truthfully and apparently got booked in for Pfizer (as in her first dose, not a booster) without any hassle and will get it tomorrow and get a letter in the post for her 2nd dose.
Possibly worth considering if you want an approved vaccine.

I find it shocking that it's taken them this long to discuss it . This should have been done in June/July.

Just seen your comment @Frazzled2207. I dread to think what tbe Covid hotline to someone. They're just another useless official.
I hope the person.on FB gets on OK. However the clinic have told me people are being turned away at drop in clinics without a letter to authorise them. It's happening still this week.

And the letter that says you can get 2 vaccines at "your own risk". Great way for us to be treated.

@Torvean
She apparently had her Pfizer with no fuss. No complex checking at the vaccine site because unlike in England, if you’re given an appointment you re basically already approved.

Thanks for the update @Frazzled2207. I'm glad this person had no problems.
Still a disgrace that any UK volunteer has yo do with no medical advice , and at your "own risk"

The Scottish govt seem to think they'll get away with it....

The new app that shows your vaccination status , which I obviously can't use. I couldn't use if I had 2 approved vaccines , as my middle name is so incorrectly entered that it's not even a word.... So it doesn't match my documents. I wish I was joking...

To get the app you use photo ID, plus facial recognition on top of all your details. They can't type a 5 letter word from my drivers licence to a form...

@CiderWithLizzie just been on BBC News at One as breaking news. I am pleased but a little worried for myself as I have been diagnosed with fibromyalgia since I volunteered for the trial, and can’t be sure that I won’t have an adverse reaction to the jab. If I had known that this was going to be the result then I probably wouldn’t have volunteered.

So now we’re going to be offered two doses of Pfizer so we can travel. Looks like they know that Novavax isn’t getting approval any time soon. I reckon it’s six months away, if at all.

I just want to go and get it asap. I have had enough now. Husband is 13 months passed his first vaccination (we think he had it then due to side effects) I am sure I had mine on crossover.

They say we have to wait to hear from trial site regarding how we get them, but knowing my trial site it will be at least 3 months before they tell us

Great news!! Very happy and relieved. I am booked for the end of the trial appointment in mid-November.

Is brilliant news for all. I agree that it looks like the “q 3 approval” now looks unlikely. Staggered at how long it’s taken to get to this point.

If anyone gets called up for the 2 Pfizer doses, can they post on here please….my trial centre seems to be months behind others. I get all the letters that are being talked about, bundled into one envelope a couple of months later! I lived in hope the other day, as I received a small boxed envelope from them…..only to discover they had sent out some fresh Covid tests because the other ones that they gave me at my last appointment had expired 😂🤣🤦🏼‍♀️

Also, where does this 2 doses of Pfizer vaccine now fit in with the booster programme? I will be eligible for a booster soon, so do I go for a booster or the Pfizer jabs? 🤦🏼‍♀️

They’re saying the booster will count as the first of the two jabs
