Do you think we will be locked down this autumn/winter?

I wouldn’t like this to happen but I can’t help but think it will.

What do you all think?

OP posts:
Starlitexpress · 14/08/2021 17:15

No.

LaurieFairyCake · 14/08/2021 17:15

No

Unless we get a vaccine evading variant

And then we're fucked ALL over again

LetsGoFlyAKiteee · 14/08/2021 17:16

Nope. Maybe some restriction brought back if that but if did lockdown again people would still mix in houses and that anyway.

Unless vaccine doesn't work all that well but still.. no thank you

Tuscancat · 14/08/2021 17:18

No but I think we might get masks and wfh for Jan. Not for covid necessarily but if flu comes roaring back the nhs can't cope.
2 caveats, AZ immunity not waning and no crazy variants.

lannistunut · 14/08/2021 17:18

No, not a lockdown, but I think we certainly could get some restrictions/changed guidance e.g. WFH, mask mandates, limiting group sizes perhaps.

It depends how high cases go once schools reopen and what happens with admissions, as we will get to Covid + flu season and the problem will be bed capacity.

L1ttleSeahorse · 14/08/2021 17:19

No I really don't now . UNLESS there's another variant...

SamW98 · 14/08/2021 17:21

No, I don't think we will have another full lockdown but I can see some restrictions being bought back in short term if hospitalisations rise

ExmoorValley · 14/08/2021 17:23

No. I won't be wearing a mask again either.

TheKeatingFive · 14/08/2021 17:24

I love the way these threads pop up every few weeks.

foxandbee · 14/08/2021 17:25

No. Some restrictions might be needed but no lockdowns.

DGFB · 14/08/2021 17:26

No

CordeliasPencil · 14/08/2021 17:28

No

Bananarice · 14/08/2021 17:29

Possibly to save nhs again.

These covid vaccines will they be similar to the flue vaccine? So would we need yearly jab?

I'm hoping for a virulent but harmless variant. Now that is the dream.

alltalknobaby · 14/08/2021 17:33

No.

Figgygal · 14/08/2021 17:34

Can’t see it happening myself

MrsPumpkinSeed · 14/08/2021 17:35

No but I think there will be local lockdowns.

GintyMcGinty · 14/08/2021 17:36

No

We are 'learning to live with it now'.

EmilyDickinson · 14/08/2021 17:38

No. It would be sensible to encourage working from home and mitigation measures for schools though. I’m a bit troubled by how much higher infections are than this time last year. If they increase further with school returns, like last year, it’s going to be tricky

Sparklingbrook · 14/08/2021 17:38

@TheKeatingFive

Yes. I will get my crystal ball back out and give it a polish.
AllThatFancyPaintsAsFair · 14/08/2021 17:38

Seriously, did I not get the memo that this thread has to be started at least 3 times a week? Grin

I don't understand it at all, no one knows, what's the possible benefit of random people answering an unanswerable question

If we all stick to sensible rules we'll minimise the possibility, what more can be said?

Sparklingbrook · 14/08/2021 17:39

If everyone on this thread says 'no' then that will be enough for there not to be one.

Mybalconyiscracking · 14/08/2021 17:41

I don’t care as long as they leave the bloody schools and 6th form colleges alone!

SunbathingDragon · 14/08/2021 17:41

No, I don’t think so.

The Lambda variant possibly has the potential to cause lockdowns though, especially if it merges with a more transmissible variant.

Plumtree391 · 14/08/2021 17:41

I don't think so.

MareofBeasttown · 14/08/2021 17:41

No, but I think masks will be back.
