Waiting for my PCR results. Feeling so rough. Everything aches. I've taken paracetamol and slept most of the day. Feel like I've got the beginning of a cold and feel feverish but can't take my temp as the thermometer broke a while ago.
Urgh urgh urgh. Not really sure why I'm posting really!

Good morning! I also feel very weak after doing small tasks but don't feel too bad when I'm in bed. Even sitting on the kitchen chair was hard work yesterday. My voice is still really croaky and I have mainly bad cold type symptoms.

I'm on day 6 and think my sense of taste and smell has gone. Jakemans cough sweets seem bland, although I can still feel the menthol, and my cup of tea tastes like hot water.

BuddleiasBeesAndButterflies · 10/08/2021 09:25

After still no look getting a postal test, I'm finally feeling up for driving, so have booked a drive through. Feels a bit late in the day as I'm actually starting to feel a bit better (fingers crossed it stays that way!). Hope everyone else starts on the road to recovery soon too, especially those trying to take care of others whilst feeling so rotten, I know my youngest, who seems to have escaped the virus, has eaten terribly this week as we just haven't felt well enough to cook properly Blush

Piggywaspushed · 10/08/2021 09:28

Anyone else got sweaty hands and feet?

BuddleiasBeesAndButterflies · 10/08/2021 09:41

@Piggywaspushed

Anyone else got sweaty hands and feet?
Sweaty everywhere Grinhad to change nightclothes twice last night! And I'm not normally a sweaty person.
BishBashBoshBush · 10/08/2021 10:02

Sweat land here too @Piggywaspushed (great username btw)

Piggywaspushed · 10/08/2021 10:53

Thanks! I couldn't understand the sweaty feet and hands because my temperature is normal. When it goes up, I shake. The GP just said it's my thermostat trying to work so every time external temps change my body goes a bit wonky.

WhereDoesThisToiletGo · 10/08/2021 12:01

Got my drive thru PCR this morning. Hope the results don't take too long.
Do I wait for result before alerting people?

The only really close contact is someone I sat next to at dinner Sunday evening, but I don't know him at all. It will take at least three emails to create a chain of people who can give me his details

Piggywaspushed · 10/08/2021 12:51

Stupid question : I presume I can take my usual allergy tablet if I am sneezing all the time?

Torvi · 10/08/2021 13:01

I've still been taking antihistamines

Piggywaspushed · 10/08/2021 13:10

Okeydoke. You start overthinking things!

That said, I was throwing allergy tablets at DS when he was having 'really bad allergies' which tuned out to be covid...

BishBashBoshBush · 10/08/2021 13:29

@WhereDoesThisToiletGo there's no rule as such, I told some ppl after my positive LFT then others after the PCR came back. It's your call. T&T will try to locate the person you sat next to, even if you only have a name and that's it- if you don't want to ask via friends of friends.

OP posts:
WhereDoesThisToiletGo · 10/08/2021 13:35

@BishBashBoshBush Thanks, I didn't do an LFT as I already had symptoms, so just need to wait for PCR results.
I don't mind asking the friend of a friend but don't want to open the can of worms too early!

BishBashBoshBush · 10/08/2021 15:36

I have a question and googling isn't helping- there is loads of info about how days 5-10 are the worst for unvaccinated ppl who get covid- does anyone know if there is any similar timeline info for ppl that are vaccinated?
Today (day 3) I seem to be feeling less like death warmed up. I was wondering whether to get my hopes up/try to go downstairs/get showered.
I don't want to exhaust myself though, and I slept until 2pm today.

BishBashBoshBush · 10/08/2021 15:37

Well, 1.30 if you want to be pedantic lol

Piggywaspushed · 10/08/2021 15:56

That's good news. Don't overdo it as it may come back. I feel like I feel OK for a while and then rough again, although I am better than I was two days ago , all in all, when I was terrified. I am on Day 7.

Piggywaspushed · 10/08/2021 15:58

Haven't heard from bubbublish. Hope she's OK.

BishBashBoshBush · 10/08/2021 16:02

Yeah I ventured downstairs for an orange and a water then came back up to bed!
I hope @Bubbublish is ok, she really didn't sound well at all. Her situation sounded really tricky.

My DH keeps saying I haven't got it as I feel ok and temp has been normal today. I'm still waiting to it to properly kick in...

Torvi · 10/08/2021 16:52

I am definitely finding it comes in waves. I think I feel better and then it creeps back up.
I haven't had a raised temp at all.

AvonCallingBarksdale · 10/08/2021 17:03

I’m coughing a lot more now on day 5 (well, five days since my first positive test). Still sooo exhausted too. It was my birthday yesterday - not the celebration I was imagining.

Torvi · 10/08/2021 17:14

Happy birthday for yesterday Avon Thanks
Be sure to make up for it once you're recovered!

Piggywaspushed · 10/08/2021 17:17

Awww... Happy Birthday :(. It was my silver wedding the day I started feeling unwell.

AvonCallingBarksdale · 10/08/2021 17:37

Thanks - yes will definitely make up for it!! Best wishes to all still feeling rubbish Flowers

BishBashBoshBush · 10/08/2021 17:41

Aww @AvonCallingBarksdale happy birthday for yesterday- definitely one to rebook later in the year!
I managed to have a shower and change the bed sheets! Now to have another nap

Can I join?
Positive lft today and awaiting pcr result. I started with a sore throat Sunday and headache yesterday. As DS (25) had a cold last week (and negative pcr) I assumed it was his cold.
Just out of curiosity I did a flow test and it was positive within 2 minutes so I'm not optimistic about pcr being negative.
I have a host of health problems, many of the symptoms described by poster's on here are "normal" for me.
Happy anniversary piggy.
We are due to go on holiday on Monday but that's the least of my worries now.
