Waiting for my PCR results. Feeling so rough. Everything aches. I've taken paracetamol and slept most of the day. Feel like I've got the beginning of a cold and feel feverish but can't take my temp as the thermometer broke a while ago.
Urgh urgh urgh. Not really sure why I'm posting really!

This is a thread full of people who have picked up ,and some transmitted, covid whilst double jabbed bob so this is maybe not the place for a ' what's the worst that could happen' post tbh...

doublemix · 09/08/2021 15:09

I'm on day 6 today after my DH who'd only had 1 jab gave me covid last week I though I felt better today but I do feel quite rough again now headache and nausea and exhausted again not ideal with 2 young kids his last day of isolation is tomorrow so at least he will be able to take the kids out when he gets home from work as somehow they have both not caught it. I agree with a PP if this is a mild version the full strength must be horrendous I've had no breathing symptoms though so I think that's what it stops.

AvonCallingBarksdale · 09/08/2021 15:18

Thank goodness I’ve found this thread. I’m double-jabbed but DD tested positive on Thursday then I tested positive on Friday. My double-jabbed DMiL has also tested positive now, who DD had been with last week. Not wishing to get all anti-vaxxer, but my cousin and his wife also recently tested positive after being DJ. I know symptoms should be less severe but I hadn’t realised how bring double-jabbed only reduced risk of catching covid from 1:13 to 1:26.
Feeling tired, achey and sore throat.

BishBashBoshBush · 09/08/2021 16:07

Sorry to hear there are so many of us. I'm hoping the same @AvonCallingBarksdale
And here's the Zoe link about clusters of symptoms covid.joinzoe.com/us-post/covid-clusters

Sorry that you're suffering, OP.

I'm on Day 8 now - we've all had it in the house.

All double vaccinated.

I am wiped out. Achey, exhausted, temperature.

Been through the sneezing stage. Now at the loss of smell & taste stage.

Piggywaspushed · 09/08/2021 16:21

Thanks for the link OP. Rest up.

Iknowtheanswer · 09/08/2021 16:24

I carried on working from home, didn't rest enough and 4 weeks later I've been in bed since Friday with a post covid chest infection. I'm still knackered and dizzy too.

DH, on the other hand, slept for three days and recovered quickly.

Hope you feel better soon, OP.

palacegirl77 · 09/08/2021 16:33

Last day of the 10 day isolation for us. Started with cold symptoms too - DD12 had sore throat and headache for 48 hours, that was her done - DD7 had nothing bar an eczema flare up, DH has a cough (asthmatic so anything goes to his chest) but been fine other than that - Ive mainly had cold symptoms, headache day 1, shivers and fever overnight day 2 (went off with paracetamol) and been tired (my bed is my new best friend) - but in the whole scale of things ok now really. Both double jabbed (adults) - both had different jabs but similar outcome. Annoyed about catching it as so careful but looks inevitable that we all will - holiday in 10 days and cant wait (and I least we dont have to worry about catching it on holiday now!) Hope everyone else feels better soon. Also in case anyone is wondering we saw 3 people in the 48 hours before symptoms started and all just finished isolation and none gone on to get it. So from our experience - vaccine didnt stop us catching it - it did however give us a mild dose and we also didnt transmit it to anyone else thankfully.

Janaih · 09/08/2021 16:43

Finished my 10 day isolation last weds. Still feel very fatigued and slight headache.
Alternate ibuprofen and paracetamol every 2 hours helped me through the worst days (5 and 6 I think. Spent them in bed). Washed down with lucozade sport.
Also not an anti vaxxer but I did think hmm what was the point in getting double jabbed if I'm going to get it anyway.
Wishing a speedy recovery to all suffering Flowers

Katie517 · 09/08/2021 16:46

Sorry to hear people who are double jabbed are still feeling quite rough. Just out of interest are any of you taking vitamins or supplements? If not lots of vitamin c and zinc, vitamin d supplements and probiotics either tablets or drinks like yakult should help also green juices and ginger to support the immune system will help. Also night nurse.

Piggywaspushed · 09/08/2021 17:39

Literally three paramedics said to me yesterday that everyone says that at the moment but we haven't seen how bad it can get....

Iknowtheanswer · 09/08/2021 18:13

Honestly, the pain in my sinuses was so bad, I dread to think how bad it could be if it was in my lungs! I think the vaccine stopped it leaving my face.

BishBashBoshBush · 09/08/2021 18:39

@Katie517 I've just started taking vitamin C and zinc. That combined with 2hour paracetamol then ibuprofen 2 hours later, staying in bed and not moving too much- seems to be helping.

BishBashBoshBush · 09/08/2021 18:40

@Iknowtheanswer I literally felt/feel like someone had smashed me in the face with a frying pan. That's the kind of pain. Awful. Thank god for painkillers.

OP posts:
Piggywaspushed · 09/08/2021 18:55

I have sinus pain today but not too bad. Trying to do a day without painkillers because I had had so many paracetamol for 3 days , I thought I was rattling.

Bubbublish · 09/08/2021 19:05

I'm there with you. On day 7 and I want to die. I feel absolutely awful. I haven't eaten for days, constant feeling sick, pounding headache, everything hurts and waking up in a pool of sweat. Temperature was 39.2. I haven't changed my clothes or cleaned my teeth. I'm a single mum. I hate this so much and not sure I'll get thru this. You have my sympathies op

Piggywaspushed · 09/08/2021 19:42

I had all of that apart form a temperature that high. Have you dosed yourself up to the eyeballs with paracetamol??

Piggywaspushed · 09/08/2021 19:43

I know it sounds weird but clean your teeth if you can. the mintiness is stomach settling.

And get some buccastem.

JoJoEtc · 09/08/2021 19:49

DP (age 44) has just had it, double vaxed. Symptoms started 16 days ago, positive test 14 days ago. Initial symptoms were a bit of a head cold. Worst days were days 7-10 when he was very ill, although like a really bad head cold with fatigue, not hospitalisation - he stayed in bed for 3 days. Has been gradually getting better but still has a cough and is feeling tired, also taste and smell not back yet.

Despite living with him and not having enough space to distance, DD and I don't seem to have caught it yet. We will continue to do LFTs for another few days. I don't know if vitamin D has been proven or disproven but DD and I have been taking it since last September, whereas DP hasn't been.

BishBashBoshBush · 10/08/2021 00:33

Oh god @Bubbublish that sounds so difficult. Surely there is support out there for people in this situation? How old are your kids? Just get through it any way you can. You can get medicine delivered apparently and obviously food deliveries etc you have my huge sympathy.
In other news my sense of taste has totally gone. Although my sister would argue I've not had good taste for years Wink

Honestly just keep ontop of pain relief til it passes just reduce it slightly if you feel a bit better.

OP rest is the key, I haven't had it whilst double vaccinated but had it before and was very ill (put on steroids to help my lungs cope).
High vitamin food helps if you can eat it get someone to deliver soups to the doorstep etc. The other good news about being double vaccinated is that it reduces your chances of getting long covid but make sure you rest.

WhereDoesThisToiletGo · 10/08/2021 08:06

Ugh, can I join the pity party?
Temperature and aching yesterday, felt just like after I had my vaccine.
Couldn't get a pcr last night but going to a drive thru this morning.

I told DH, who has a meeting arranged for today, and he said he couldn't isolate, he HAD to go. But half an hour later, he ran up and cancelled it, so that saved an argument.

Can I contact people directly rather than use Test and Trace?

BishBashBoshBush · 10/08/2021 08:43

Morning double vaxxed and feeling pants crew! This morning I have face-hit-by-frying-pan plus nausea. Knocked back painkillers, zinc and vitamin C. Fairly sure I would rattle if you shook me now.
"D"H in bed so I had to get the kids up, get them breakfast. I'm finding the tiniest thing wipes me out and I only truly feel less crap when I'm physically not moving. Anyone else like that?
Called in sick to work today so that's good I guess.
@WhereDoesThisToiletGo hope the PCR goes well and v sensible of your DH to cancel.

I've just thought, this is a bit like on conception threads where ppl join at different times (DPO) and describe their symptoms and test results! Except we get the test but first then count in "Days Past PCR". Lol

OP posts:
BishBashBoshBush · 10/08/2021 08:47

Oh and @WhereDoesThisToiletGo I don't see why not but it was easier just to fill out the t&t form whilst lying in bed than try to talk to someone, plus it's anonymous, I text the ppl I had been in contact with. Totally up to you but I think t&t keep ringing until you talk to them.
