Waiting for my PCR results. Feeling so rough. Everything aches. I've taken paracetamol and slept most of the day. Feel like I've got the beginning of a cold and feel feverish but can't take my temp as the thermometer broke a while ago.
Urgh urgh urgh. Not really sure why I'm posting really!

@Siameasy

Day 14. I took paracetamol and night nurse and slept well last night! First decent sleep I’ve had since catching this! I woke up at 9 and felt broken. Went back to sleep and woke up again at 2!
@Siameasy you need to be careful there, as Night Nurse also has paracetamol
Siameasy · 01/09/2021 16:38

Oh it’s ok I only took the NN at 4am after being woken by the cat when the paracetamol had long worn off
God I feel so dizzy even sitting up is making me dizzy!!

Piggywaspushed · 01/09/2021 16:45

I was just reading up about covid and dizziness/ light-headedness. Very common apparently. Another symptom no one mentions!

Siameasy · 01/09/2021 16:46

I saw it as an option on Zoe; I’ve been dutifully recording all the weird symptoms so that they get the message that a lot of us haven’t had the classic cough/temp

Piggywaspushed · 01/09/2021 17:00

Me too. I keep writing night sweats and sweaty feet at the end!

Siameasy · 01/09/2021 17:08

Urgh night sweats are so unpleasant!
I know people who had some of these odd symptoms and didn’t bother testing as no cough/temp. I think post vaccine maybe some of the classic symptoms are suppressed but instead you get new strange ones

PrincessNutNuts · 01/09/2021 17:13

If it helps anyone, I found a hot bath with Senspa Muscle Soak or Badedas did help with the aches and geveral "hangover from hell on steroids" type feelings. Even better if someone else wipes the bath down and runs it for you.

I think I might be turning the corner. I feel vaguely perky today, rather than wondering how the hell I'm going to get done what I need to get done while feeling like I need a lie down constantly.

Geepee71 · 03/09/2021 23:25

Think i was exposed on Friday, slight cold symptoms Monday night, then work up with sore throat and headache on Tuesday. Positive lft and then pcr booked 10.30am on Tues.
Pcr test confirmed positive Wed 8.00am
Didn't feel too bad on Tues, but downhill from there,
Weirdly alternating from feeling OK, then feeling completely wiped out, with stabbing pains in head and sinuses.
Lost sense of smell today (Friday) and think sense of taste is on way out.

@CatAlice

The consultant implied I was infections. I was reading NHS infection control protocols ( cos I'm nerdy like that). It's standard for covid discharges because patients have been exposed to high viral doses from others on ward. I think there is a fear of variants emerging in hospital. I'm not going anywhere but it would have been be nice to have DC visit.
Hope you are feeling a bit better CatAlice. Would you be able to link to those protocols for me? Wondering if they are national or local to your area. I'm trying to help a friend who was discharged from a hot Covid ward to be looked after by a CV person and ward claimed it was no issue, that neither they nor their possessions would be any risk.
Piggywaspushed · 04/09/2021 08:48

I was discharged into family care, no info or protocol. T and T did isolate me again, but not because I had been in hospital. They just knew of PCR test.

@time4anothername sorry I didn't bookmark it all but it wasn't local guidance.
This is one of the things I read.

Thank you for the link. None of that happened for the person. Interesting to read it.

I’m now on day 16 and feel a lot better in many ways but still very tired and have painful glands on the side of my neck which I’ve had since day one. Have been working from home but had to have an afternoon nap. I definitely still need to factor in lots of rest.. husband apparently thinks I need to snap out of it! (He had it too but evidently feels fine now…)

Piggywaspushed · 06/09/2021 21:05

Men, eh?

Siameasy · 07/09/2021 08:02

I’m 3 weeks from first symptoms

I’m going to try to go for a run today and see how I cope. I’m having huge trouble sleeping like it’s taking HOURS to drop off and when I do sleep I have nightmares. I’m wondering if lack of exercise and excess screen use is causing it?

I’ve permanently got a mild upset stomach - either feeling churny or period-like pains and throat still sore/phlegm

I managed five push ups yesterday so I think I’m okay to go to work tomorrow

Piggywaspushed · 07/09/2021 08:27

Careful : I read yesterday that no one should do 'vigorous' exercise for 4 weeks after a virus...

Piggywaspushed · 07/09/2021 08:28

Gentler and more relaxing exercise is recommended to ease recovery, though.

PurplePumpkinDream · 07/09/2021 08:47

@Siameasy Similar here permanently queasy stomach but I get that whenever I’m unwell/stressed so can’t entirely blame Covid. Started my moderate walks, hope is not too much after 3 weeks, but definitely more tired, heavy sleep with weird dreams, spells during the day of woolly head. Cough seems to have gone hope it won’t be back, as I know it can. I’ve taken more paracetamol in the last couple of weeks than I have in ages.

Siameasy · 07/09/2021 09:21

I ran (plodded) for ten minutes it was like someone who had never run before. Which is depressing! Afterwards I was very out of breath, dizzy and queasy and 15 minutes later I still am a bit like when you feel your breaths aren’t really hitting the spot.

Yes what is it with the dreams and brain fog Purple are we brain damaged?!

RainBow725 · 08/09/2021 13:15

I'm still struggling too - coming up to 4 weeks after testing positive. Brain fog is better but still very fatigued and had to get a sick note so I can work half days. It's hard going. I'm willing myself better but it's not working!

CatAlice · 08/09/2021 13:34

Day 32 here and I went to a shop today! Hung on to the trolley for dear life but it was nice to feel independant as DH / DS has been doing everything.
Before all this I was doing my best to get fit, walking 4/5k a day, pilates, a few modest weights and had just re-joined the gym. Yesterday I managed a 150m walk....
I think the brain fog has cleared. That was a very disconcerting symptom.

Piggywaspushed · 08/09/2021 14:35

Done two half days back at work. Tiring but heat adds to that.

Back to full days tomorrow...

peachpearplum01 · 09/09/2021 20:43

Almost three weeks and most of my symptoms gone apart from tiredness. I also feel quite emotional and easily irritated / stressed - anyone else? Finding work a struggle for that reason - every email or message makes me angry! I had a similar thing a few years ago when I had concussion which makes me wonder if my brain is somehow damaged! Hopefully only temporarily…

Payproblems · 09/09/2021 21:04

Myself dd is + and I had period like pains and then diorheha.

It's starting isn't it almost a weird heat feeling like a wave of heat or mild not painful burning..

Payproblems · 09/09/2021 21:15

It a so odd.. I also felt very emotional on Tuesday before dd was confirmed + and my eye is watering and later today stomach pains and cramps.

Is this the start or it?
