Waiting for my PCR results. Feeling so rough. Everything aches. I've taken paracetamol and slept most of the day. Feel like I've got the beginning of a cold and feel feverish but can't take my temp as the thermometer broke a while ago.
Urgh urgh urgh. Not really sure why I'm posting really!

Gosh, something approaching a normal night's sleep. Wok up at 4.45. Stomach still hurting. Went back to snooze for a while and stomach OK. Have learnt lesson, though, and resting today. Meant to be going to Cotswolds for a meet up with ILs and lunch but shall leave that to DH and DCs every cloud

honeygriff · 27/08/2021 08:16

I'm 47, double jabbed and take vitamin d ect. Have been so ill with it. My sinus pain was so bad I was having visual disturbances where the last thing I'd looked at was blurring in with what I was currently looking at. At this point I got an ice pack for the terrible pain behind my eye & took ibuprofen. Was okish after that. Used the sterimar nasal spray for sinus as well. The aftermath is that the skin has come off my feet, yuk! I have a bone pain in my heel that is still painful nearly a month later. DP also had it and was horribly ill he had to have medical help despite being much fitter than me. I am so happy my dd's didn't catch it.

PurplePumpkinDream · 27/08/2021 18:18

@Piggywaspushed what stomach symptoms have you got? Had them for long? I only coughed two days then it was mainly fatigue and stomach ache, no appetite, feeling nauseous, etc. I’m now on day 10.

Piggywaspushed · 27/08/2021 19:30

Gastro enteritis - twice... the gift that keeps on giving. Constant nausea with stomach pains, vomiting and migraines....

Two weeks of that, on and off!

PurplePumpkinDream · 27/08/2021 20:34

Poor you Piggy two weeks of vomiting and migraines!

Piggywaspushed · 27/08/2021 20:44

Yup.... not been the best.

giraffes2021 · 28/08/2021 08:35

I am day 4/5 oh the migraines are unbearable I feel like every day there something new to contend with! Anyone got any migraine tips cooking using cool and soothe pads and anadin however worrying about using too many!

Mum32021 · 28/08/2021 08:46

@giraffes2021 my headaches was do bad the only think that helped was paracetamol and codiene, they still only just took the edge off and I was having to take them as soon as I woke up so I could lift my head off the pillow with out pain to get my toddler.

GCrebel · 28/08/2021 08:46

Day 14 & tea finally tastes a bit more like tea.

Wanted to say that I also found sterimar was good for dried out sinuses. Helped a lot with breathing & a bit with the nausea.

Is anyone else affected by the bastard itching? Like a heat rash? I tried Piriton yesterday but that made me sleepy Once more. Trying lanacaine today as really need to be up and about. Ive had my sick note extended but only until after the weekend and still haven't managed a whole day out of bed. Seems the nhs need me back at work (hollow laugh).

Mum32021 · 28/08/2021 08:48

@gcredel oh yes the itching!! I've had to remove my rings as the itching is driving me mad on my fingers 😫

Siameasy · 28/08/2021 08:53

Last day of isolation today and feel pretty normal just the snorted water feeling in sinuses, hair loss and eyes a bit sore. My scalp has been itchy not sure if coincidence

giraffes2021 · 28/08/2021 08:55

@Mum32021 coedine forgot about that ! I've toddlers at 3 and 1 it's hell on earth however luckily at this moment it's not taken my DP yet fingers crossed

Mum32021 · 28/08/2021 09:01

@giraffes2021

Same here Dp is still OK so his been mainly on toddler duty its hard coz she is such a mummy's girl but I have had 0 energy to play properly and when I felt better the other day and spent the day in the garden I suffered the next day 🤦‍♀️

Piggywaspushed · 28/08/2021 10:08

Bastarding night sweats again last night, meaning I didn't sleep well again , meaning I feel nauseous again.

I just want soem semblance of an appetite. Not being able to eat is not helping the nausea.

I am one of those people who doesn't like to take meds longer than told so I stopped the ondanestron and am now back to chugging pepto bismol. Not sure what the best approach is, Sad

Sleep is my friend and I just can't do it.

I am already looking at not going back to work next Thursday and that makes me despair at the thought that I might not be OK.

CatAlice · 28/08/2021 10:36

Piggy I had nausea for the first couple of weeks and I agree that it's much worse if you can't eat. Could you tolerate some of those meal drinks (complan?). Just to line the stomach?
My night sweats seem to have stopped, my main symptoms now extreme fatigue and shortness of breath. It's weird being out of breath when you haven't done anything. I've been given deep breathing exercises to do to boost lung function. No cough now though so progress I guess.

TheSunnySide · 28/08/2021 11:48

@Sorrento2014

Hope everyone is feeling ok today.

Not sure on days as DD tested positive lft on Friday as she was snuffly (no other symptoms) and I felt hot/cold that night but continued to test negative until yesterday, Tuesday. 4 out of 5 of us now positive, mostly cold symptoms and headaches
How to stop test and trace calling and emailing??? We've told them all the info so many times and asked them to stop but they call again 5 mins later!

Hi there, new to the thread but I have been lurking.

Have many people had contact from TT&T? I am in Wales and apart from being pinged last Tuesday I haven't had any calls or anything from TT&T.

I tested negative (LFT) on Tuesday then positive (LFT) on Wednesday, confirmed on PCR on Thursday.

I am not sure what day I should call this, it is almost a week since exposure and only 4 days since being pinged, 3 since getting the PCR. I was told to isolate for 11 days and still have 8 left which seems like such a long time.

The only early symptom I had was a sore throat which started Monday evening, so do I count myself as being on day five?

I am utterly anxious 24/7 about taking a turn for the worse even though I would say my symptoms have so far been mild (sore throat, blocked up nose, slight cough, loss of smell). I just have my son here with me (10) and worry that I will pass it on. I kind of have Monday as a goal to get to - thinking that if I stay ok then by then I might be past the worst of it. I don't want to ring my mum and tell her until then, because she will worry.

Siameasy · 28/08/2021 16:49

I had the fear Sunny but nothing happened and I’m finishing my isolation now and feel normal
T and T phoned me daily!

Piggywaspushed · 28/08/2021 17:25

Have just eaten a bread roll. Hoorah.

PurplePumpkinDream · 28/08/2021 18:38

@Piggywaspushed I feel similar, do you have stomach issues normally? I do and wonder whether this nausea/upset stomach/bowels is due to Covid or just something I occasionally get.

Piggywaspushed · 28/08/2021 18:43

Yes, I do from time to time (I ahve so many nasuea remedies in my house!). After any sleepless night, any anxiety about a journey or holiday, PMT, teeny amounts of wine. You name it. But this has been far longer lasting and much worse . The consultant in the hospital was in no doubt that Covid was attacking me. The first time they were a bit more'oh, it's anxiety. Go home and rest' but the second time they were more concerned!

Hi I'm so sorry you're struggling so much. I don't currently have covid and when I did it was super mild so I can't comment on that front however, I have life long gastro issues (I've spoken to you on another board by another name when I was in hospital earlier this year unable to eat and drink etc -and looking for books for my DD1... maybe you don't remember though !) I just wanted to post as the struggles you have are kind of the ones I'm stuck with for life - I don't eat at all now and am on a liquid diet. But I just wanted to encourage you to keep on with the ondanestron , I understand you don't want to , but it won't do you any harm and doesn't have any bad side effects.... It's just you need to keep the acid in your stomach low, because gastroenteritis will cause (temporary) inflammation in your gut and stomach, and the acid which the PPI inhibitor (ondanestron is reducing) will keep the acid from irritating the inflammation even more whilst it heals.

Pepto bismol could help, and also gaviscon, but I would keep on with the meds as well, just until your gut calms down.

Piggywaspushed · 28/08/2021 19:57

What a lovely post. Thank you . I hope I was helpful about the books . Smile

Thanks for rhe advice over the meds. Very reassuring.

Yes for sure I got tons of the recommended ones and she absolutely loved them all; she's a happy girl now the library is open again !!

No worries. At this point gastro probs is my like... Quiz show specialist subject!!! Just keep on with the meds until you feel better, but I saw you managed a bread roll - that's good! Also I don't know where in the UK you're from but clearly in a similar place to me because otherwise you'd have sad bap, or barm cake or something 🤣

Me too, I was petrified the first few nights checking on everyone, listening for coughs but thankfully it never happened. We all just had similar cold symptoms and a bit achey/tired. Plenty of paracetamol and rest seemed to help. All starting to test negative now (lft) but still isolating until official days. I emailed Test and Trace a few responses and asked them to stop phoning which to be fair they pretty much did after the first few days. Hopefully by the time you tell your mum Sunny you can be confident you are pretty much through the worst.
peachpearplum01 · 29/08/2021 05:31

I’m now on day 7 - had thought I’d turned a corner but feels like I’m worse again. Sleep is definitely an issue.. my muscles are aching, in particular my ribs, so have been taking regular paracetamol for that, that’s been the worst symptom for me - that and tiredness and lack of smell. Also have a v mild cough.
What’s strange is how different it’s affected all of us in the family. The children are complainkng more about tummy aches. Already worried about the end of the ten days as can’t see myself being back to normal..
