Waiting for my PCR results. Feeling so rough. Everything aches. I've taken paracetamol and slept most of the day. Feel like I've got the beginning of a cold and feel feverish but can't take my temp as the thermometer broke a while ago.
Urgh urgh urgh. Not really sure why I'm posting really!

Well, that would make sense for my relapse...

cakeflower · 30/08/2021 20:55

Oh wow. I’m due my period today! Where can I find out more about this link??

@Piggywaspushed oh goodness. You have been through so much with this. Bloody covid! I hope you feel much better soon.

No way mine is late and I’m pretty reliable.

I googled it quickly earlier and just found anecdotal stuff eg old MN threads Grin nothing concrete just chat

My body has inflated like a balloon, like usual before period but more extreme.

Let’s report back if/when it turns up, any abnormalities Piggy are you due on too?

Piggywaspushed · 30/08/2021 22:35

No, not now. Meant two weeks ago when I was admitted. It did coincide with PMT.

No doubt have the fun to come again then...

Piggywaspushed · 31/08/2021 07:14

Another sleepless night with aching legs. Wah. This always seems to coincide with any plans for a day out anyone might have. I am not going anywhere but DH and DS2 want to go to a cricket match.

Piggywaspushed · 31/08/2021 08:44

I was thinking of starting a long covid thread? I know there is a very long running one but it is v hard to find and doesn't get many posts. Is there anyone else on here who would like a thread? I think I have to accept the reality that my symptoms are lurking. Lots of people on this thread have had happy recoveries .

Sonata13 · 31/08/2021 10:00

Hi lovely people! On day 30 and feel dreadful still. I just feel so weak and useless. Constant hissing in my ears, legs like jelly, really sleepy and constant extreme fatigue. Actually felt a bit better on Saturday and had coffee with friend but now feel even worse. It's hard to stay mentally positive and the tears keep creeping up on me. My empathy goes out to each and every one of you. Onwards and upwards!

Count me in Piggy. Although I've followed all things covid from early 2020 I haven't really delved into long covid. I don't know whether I will have long covid but the noises made by doctors suggest to me that having a severe dose of covid makes it much more likely that there will be some things that take a very long time to get back to normal.

Now over three weeks and I have made some progress, but, I can't walk more than from one room to another, I get out of breath and my legs are like jelly, head dizzy and I am generally shaky.
The big plus is that I can now hold a conversation without getting out of breath.
My latest delight is a mouthful of ulcers. I never get mouth ulcers and it's as though there are lots of nasty little holes on my tougue and throat.

PurplePumpkinDream · 31/08/2021 10:09

@Piggywaspushed yes please do start a Long Covid thread! When can I join? I’m 2 weeks since very first cough and 11 since SI.

Piggywaspushed · 31/08/2021 10:17

Might do this later then. Legs like jelly isn't just me then!

Mum32021 · 31/08/2021 10:50

Day 17 for me today, feel extremely hung over, spent yesterday on the sofa with bad headache and totally wiped out, today I feel like ive been sniffing chlorine, my eyes hurt and my sinuses hurt, and still no taste and smell 😫

Siameasy · 31/08/2021 11:43

Period turned up but feel wiped out. Just changed two pillowcase and had to lie down.
Had an awful restless night with nightmares and my head is a shed

TheSunnySide · 31/08/2021 17:18

So tired today and therefore grumpy because my DS kept trying to get me out of bed.

I think he has covid (high temperature two days ago) but he refused the PCR I had sent to the house. Presumably now I just isolate him for 10 days as a precaution in the absence of a test. Meaning I can't go back to work and he can't go out. 😩

Piggywaspushed · 31/08/2021 17:26

How old is he sunny?

TheSunnySide · 31/08/2021 18:31

@Piggywaspushed

How old is he sunny?
He's 10.

I am worrying that I will increase his viral load by being ill at the same time he is. But not even sure that is how it works. I was trying to stay away from him as much as I could and wearing a mask etc but he still seems to have caught it. On top of that we are rubbing each other up the wrong way with him trying to get me to get up and me getting annoyed when he won't listen.

Piggywaspushed · 31/08/2021 18:55

Oh, poor you and poor him. It's so hard when you have people to look after.

Siameasy · 31/08/2021 19:51

God I feel horrible and I thought I’d got off lightly. I feel like I have the flu but temp isnt quite a fever. Even getting up and going to the loo is taking it out of me! What a nasty virus.

Piggywaspushed · 31/08/2021 20:11

My temp peaked at something quite pedestrian like 38.1 but I was so hot and sweaty! My main issue was my pulse rate : that was 140 at one point.

Londonwriter · 01/09/2021 05:18

Sorry for dropping in on your thread. I have not had COVID, but I do have an unknown immune dysregulatory disorder that causes insomnia, restless/twitching legs, sweating, muscle aches, and the other things people are describing with… the common cold.

I find Naproxen works for helping me sleep, although it does seem to make me more susceptible to respiratory symptoms. Hence, if you think the virus isn’t actively lurking around, I’d try Ibuprofen and - failing that - try to wrangle some Naproxen from your GP.

As no one knows what Long COVID is, and I get similar symptoms from my immune system disorder, it might be worth a shot…

Piggywaspushed · 01/09/2021 07:16

Thanks london. I have definitely found that paracetamol isn't really touching the sides and ibuprofen is better for my headache and . therefore, soothing me, so I can sleep. Or at least stand a chance.

Mum32021 · 01/09/2021 11:30

Anyone else feel.hungover? I feel sooooo hungover today and I havent even had a drink 🤣

cakeflower · 01/09/2021 12:55

Yes. I feel like I have a hangover. Really run down feeling.

Siameasy · 01/09/2021 14:59

Day 14. I took paracetamol and night nurse and slept well last night! First decent sleep I’ve had since catching this! I woke up at 9 and felt broken. Went back to sleep and woke up again at 2!

Racingadmin · 01/09/2021 15:33

Just had a positive result back

Astra Vaxxed March and may

Probably caught it at work on Friday , symptoms started driving home from work Monday . Just tired, sore throat and a banging head so far . I was in contact with hundreds of people at goodwood and Epsom racecourses over the weekend as work in hospitality .

Booked pcr as was getting ds tested as he had cough and temp after reading festival . Somehow he is negative - just has festival flu.

Still testing negative on lateral flows
