Waiting for my PCR results. Feeling so rough. Everything aches. I've taken paracetamol and slept most of the day. Feel like I've got the beginning of a cold and feel feverish but can't take my temp as the thermometer broke a while ago.
Urgh urgh urgh. Not really sure why I'm posting really!

@peachpearplum01 I’ve gone worse after getting better, the 10 days doesn’t mean you’ll be back to normal because I wasn’t. I’ve had mainly stomach symptoms and if it hadn’t been for a mild cough at the beginning I wouldn’t have even thought Covid. I’m surprised how poorly I’ve felt considering I was fully jabbed. Still unwell on day 12.

Mum32021 · 29/08/2021 08:25

@peachpearplum01 my dd had tummy ache and a headache, I spoke to someone who is a covid nurse and she said they are common symptoms in children more then the breathing and cough, I'm on day 14 now and feel slightly better still haveva chesty cough which I have antibiotics for and no smell and taste feel wiped out if I do much but other then that I'm on the mend l, my friend was hospitalised for 10 days and has been told to have another 4 weeks off work the 10 day isolation is very misleading

Piggywaspushed · 29/08/2021 11:22

Feeling a bit better today. A few night sweats last night but so tired that I went back to sleep. Have had a croissant! I can't bear the thought of toast, weirdly.

Anyone else get funny little twitches in their legs?

PurplePumpkinDream · 29/08/2021 13:27

@Piggywaspushed I’m finding that I can’t face my usual healthy snacks but I can eat stuff I wouldn’t usually consider, I’m snacking on left over pizza at the moment!

TheSunnySide · 29/08/2021 13:36

Just had my first call from TT&T (in wales) and they said that my isolation period will be extended by two days because I didn't get any of the three main symptoms until two days after my positive test!

Surely that is not true?!

Piggywaspushed · 29/08/2021 14:54

They did that to a friend of mine. Have they confirmed via text or email??

Piggywaspushed · 29/08/2021 14:55

I am living off water biscuits and some shortbread a friend sent me!

TheSunnySide · 29/08/2021 15:16

No confirmation and my app still has the old isolation period.

The Welsh guidance says the following but when I called back and asked what variant I have they said they don't have that information. I want to call back again and question it more but am sure they have loads on their plate

Yes, that 'at least 10 days' has snuck in there. I got longer than 10 days from onset of symptoms . She couldn't explain why...

I am frustrated because the system doesn't seem to work.

I am supposed to be able to find out from TT&P if the variant I have means I have to isolate for longer but they claim to not have that info.

I read I can stop isolating after 10 days if I feel better, except I can't because originally I was told to isolate for 11 days.

Still no email and the app still says I only have 7 days left.

Meh.

Workyticket · 29/08/2021 16:02

I'm on day 18. Still feel like shit - chest hurts, I still have a barking cough and I'm so tired.

Hoping to turn a corner soon!

Piggywaspushed · 29/08/2021 16:10

I've lost count of days now. 23 I think ! I did just fall asleep so still have the fatigue.

GCrebel · 29/08/2021 17:24

Day 14 here and ventured out for the first time. Really struggled to wear a mask and after about 45 mins came home and slept for 3 hours.

How the heck am I supposed to crawl into work this week?

Out of interest is anyone awarding prizes for the most useless advice offered? I know it’s well meaning, but the last couple of weeks have been way beyond take paracetamol and vit c territory.

Piggy - really hope you turn a corner soon. I had to get metochlopromide from the GP for nausea and have at least been able to eat the past few days.

Piggywaspushed · 29/08/2021 17:27

I have metaclopramide from my first hospital visit . I don't know what I don't have !

GCrebel · 29/08/2021 17:37

Poor you,

I have to be honest i I have collected an impressive pharmaceutical array as I have cycled through the store throat / headache / sinusey cold /unable to breathe in / nausea & vomiting/ itchy rash phases.

Today’s purchase was aloe Vera gel. DH meanwhile is threatening to buy me some scratch mitts, to stop the night time scratching.

RainBow725 · 29/08/2021 18:30

Much sympathy to everyone still feeling crap. I am getting really fed up now. Day 17 and still feel like crap and unable to function anywhere near normally. I know many people are worse so I need to be patient. I just have no energy at all and no appetite. The latter is not such a bad thing at least!

TheSunnySide · 29/08/2021 22:15

Is anyone else getting a whooshing sound in their ears?

Siameasy · 30/08/2021 09:11

I’m day 12 now so I went back to work yesterday.
My period is late and I’m suffering intense pmt symptoms but I’m 45, could be my age.
I felt more tired than usual at work and I hit a wall at about 9pm last night I really couldn’t do anything but could also be down to pmt

giraffes2021 · 30/08/2021 10:39

Day 5/6 here feel crappy still serious case of mum guilt today two toddlers no energy at all my head is absolutely pounding wahhhhhh

TheSunnySide · 30/08/2021 12:18

I have finally told my mum.
I'm on day 7 (from onset of sore throat) and am feeling a bit better apart from lack of sleep and a lingering cough.
DS (10) had a temp last night and slight cough this morning 😩
Looks like we will be in isolation for at least another 10 days.

Siameasy · 30/08/2021 18:06

Strangely I feel like some of my symptoms are reactivating today. Feel worn out and my throat is sore, got that feeling that I’m getting a cold and it’s bloody day 12 ffs

cakeflower · 30/08/2021 20:21

I’ve had similar @Siameasy. Im on day 24 or something crazy like that and having felt pretty normal but not quite 100% for last few days I now have chills, nose running slightly and a bit more tickly coughy and headachy. And I have a sore in my mouth. I feel run down. All very mild but very weird. Maybe I’ve caught an actual cold now? Or maybe covid symptoms can ebb and return a bit? My GP told me this is common in recovery. The symptoms ebb then return less strongly then ebb then return even milder. Bloody weird.

Piggywaspushed · 30/08/2021 20:38

My legs still feel like jelly all the time . I find it very disconcerting.

Glad I’m not going crazy although sorry you have it too Surely bad luck to get a cold ffs. However, my symptoms are EXACTLY the same as day 1 of Covid. I’ve also read anecdotes that if you’re due on your period you can get a reactivation of symptoms and my period is now late
