Waiting for my PCR results. Feeling so rough. Everything aches. I've taken paracetamol and slept most of the day. Feel like I've got the beginning of a cold and feel feverish but can't take my temp as the thermometer broke a while ago.
Urgh urgh urgh. Not really sure why I'm posting really!

Day 8 here. Had all the classic symptoms if only in a mild form, except the loss of taste/smell. Thought I was on the mend but today got an awful nausea and upset bowels!

Piggywaspushed · 25/08/2021 13:53

Today I feel like I have been hit over the head, a proper wall of exhaustion. Hard to tell if it's period related anaemia or sodding virus. I stopped taking iron tablets on 4 August because they upset my stomach.

Piggywaspushed · 25/08/2021 13:54

They won't stop sorrento...

PrincessNutNuts · 25/08/2021 14:12

I thought I was on the mend but then seemed to go downhill again. I probably overdid it trying to get caught up with everything, and get back to normal.

I still feel a bit feeble and stupidly tired. I have to psyche myself up to carry a full laundry basket upstairs.

It was alarming how much I felt the effort of hanging wet duvets on the line in my arm muscles.

So take it easy as you get better is my advice.

Siameasy · 25/08/2021 14:19

Day 7 I feel pretty normal for which I’m very grateful. Doing gardening and getting some vitamin D
I’ve had a weird upset stomach for days - not sure if it’s because I’m due on. And I do eat a lot of chilliest!

cakeflower · 25/08/2021 14:21

@breadwidow sorry you weren’t feeling great. How are you today?

My cough feels like it’s getting better but this whole recovery is just very slow. The fuzzy head feeling went away yesterday for me but today came back. And my eyes are still a bit dry. It’s all mild in my case and not affecting my everyday activities apart from a sense of just not feeling 100% - but I’ve been uncertain about whether and when to return to running / more active exercise. Scared of overdoing things and putting recovery back but also scared of losing fitness and mental health benefits of exercise, given how anxious I’ve been feeling at the loss of my usual routine!

I'm alot better today and out of isolation but my oldest is isolating till Sunday, so we have spent the day in the garden in the pool catching some sun, I feel alot better today but still have the underwater feeling in head and I'm tired but the antibiotics they gave me have been miracle workers and I can finally breath better with no wheezyness 👏

CocktailNapkin · 25/08/2021 18:00

Not sure if I need to be here or not but I am seriously achy and tired today (and a little weepy). Yesterday evening I was feeling fatigued while making dinner but woke up this morning feeling like I needed more sleep than the 8 hours Id just had. Light chills started about midday, every joint aches, leg muscles are burning, and my nose is stuffed up. Honestly, it feels like exactly after my first vaccination, just a little less intense.

I tested negative on a PCR last week after returning from holiday abroad, and a negative LFT this afternoon. Have ordered a PCR just now.

Last dose of AZ was in early April, but I am CEV. Monday I was at hospital for a monthly appointment and the Tube was rather full and only about half masked. Im still hoping this is possibly a side effect from a medication I get on my hospital day, but its never felt like this or lasted this long.

Piggywaspushed · 26/08/2021 07:47

Hope you are OK cocktail.

I had another bad night of hardly any sleep and a raging headache which just will not shift. Still taking the paracetamol and anti nausea meds but this means I can't take my migraine tablet.

Should be last day of second bout of SI today and I feel crap. Anxiety levels creeping up.

Oh, and my dishwasher is broken.

CatAlice · 26/08/2021 12:17

Home from hospital to another 10 days isolation. Slept 14 hours on and off. Breathing ok, no cough just intense fatigue and woolly head. I've been told to expect recovery to take 3 months.
@Piggywaspushed , it sounds like you have a long way to go. Do you usually get nausea with migraine? Might the migraine tablet help instead of paracetamol?

Piggywaspushed · 26/08/2021 12:21

Hi cat. Glad to hear you are home.

Yes, I often get nausea with headache. Just had a nap and due more paracetamol and head is a little better.

Bummer to SI for 10 more days isn't it?But it might make you rest at least. Are you still infectious or is it just precautionary?

CatAlice · 26/08/2021 12:28

The consultant implied I was infections. I was reading NHS infection control protocols ( cos I'm nerdy like that).
It's standard for covid discharges because patients have been exposed to high viral doses from others on ward. I think there is a fear of variants emerging in hospital.
I'm not going anywhere but it would have been be nice to have DC visit.

PurplePumpkinDream · 26/08/2021 12:45

Glad there are threads like this one so we realise that just because we SI for 10 days, it doesn’t automatically follow that we’ll be back to normal in 10 days. My fatigue comes and goes, weird!

Piggywaspushed · 26/08/2021 12:56

Did you find on your covid ward that no one worse masks? That was a bit weird for me!

Obviously patients, I mean, not nurses.

Siameasy · 26/08/2021 13:25

Sorry for those feeling rough. This is such a strange virus. I too am struggling to sleep and I have been keeping active, getting some sun (no sun out today)
Main symptoms are: nose sore inside like snorted water, sore/hot eyes, hair loss
Day 8

Piggywaspushed · 26/08/2021 13:32

I'd be coping if it weren't for the sodding gastro stuff and headaches.

CatAlice · 26/08/2021 14:10

Yes. Though all staff in maximum PPE, some in FFP5, some in those space suit things. But patients all on oxygen so really masks would not help with breathing. There was a woman (unvaccinated) admitted for gastric symptoms. She was writhing in pain.
Piggywaspushed · 26/08/2021 14:36

Interesting. I was a bit conscious that my gastric symptoms weren't that nice for everyone else. I can imagine the writhing.

Mum32021 · 26/08/2021 15:37

Hit me like a ton of bricks again today day 11, didn't sleep well last night, absolutely exhausted today have sat on the sofa all day, breathing is hard today and the cough has come back, the 10 day isolation really makes people think after 10 days ur fine but it definitely comes and goes

Piggywaspushed · 26/08/2021 16:19

It makes me feel better to know it isn't just me. Remember when this whole thing first started it was 14 days, wasn't it? I can't remember when it got shortened but I do remember when Boris was ill, he got told off by a Labour MP who is a doctor for trying to release himself after either 10 or 14 days ,even though he was still unwell so that he could do the clap for carers. Turned out she was right.

breadwidow · 26/08/2021 20:20

@cakeflower I'm still not feeling 100%, headache and slight sore throat. I felt better this morning, prob due to better nights sleep than earlier in the week, but now I have that underlying not quite well feeling like I'm about to get a stinking cold. I have had a very busy day at work (if being in back to back meetings over. MS teams counts as busy but it was a bit stressy and long - 0830-1900 hrs online), so that won't have helped. Got day off tomorrow phew

Bubbublish · 26/08/2021 21:01

Hello ladies, can I join you?

BIWI · 26/08/2021 21:37

Why are you asking @Bubbublish? You just rock up on all these threads and post anyway.

Bubbublish · 26/08/2021 21:44

@BIWI I'd rather know I'm welcome! I'm guessing it's a no, sorry to intrude

BIWI · 26/08/2021 21:51

Not my thread. Don't worry about my feelings.
