"Covid: Up to one in four admitted to hospital for other reasons"

or 23%.
Feels like important info to me.

TheReluctantPhoenix · 31/07/2021 06:51

@yeOldeTrout,

Well, yes, it debunks those who believe that COVID is a non lethal hospital acquired infection.

77% of people admitted are in hospital due to being made very sick by COVID.

FourTeaFallOut · 31/07/2021 06:55

Yes, 23% is significant.

I can see that that 23% needs to be included for planning resources within the NHS so that these patients can be kept separate from the others but it does give an artificial perception of risk and undermines the work of vaccines to the rest of us.

At the very least, both these figures need to be kept so all those who come in with a broken nose or similar and happen to test positive for asymptomatic covid aren't added to the list of people who are "DouBLe VaCCinaTed buT StilL in HospITal wItH CoviD".

"DouBLe VaCCinaTed buT StilL in HospITal wItH CoviD".

^ That's was unnecessary. You know that point we're covid gets under your skin and tips you into something sour - chalk that sentence up to that craziness and discount it

We are above 30000 cases today!

Latest data provided on 29 July 2021

Daily
31,117
Last 7 days
204,669 -120,554 (-37.1%)

I'll take -37.1% 7 day average thanks.*

However when this thread started the 7 day average was still red I think.

Not dissing it at I have always taken 7 day average and thankfully the figured continued to lower after the initial fall but potentially taking one day in isolation was exactly what was done on the day tge thread started.

Backofbeyond50 · 31/07/2021 07:10

Apologies it was green. Ignore me.

This link is nice, quick summary of covid monitoring in UK.

Sounds like recent daily hospital admissions with covid ~930/day.
