Freedom day is upon us. COVID is no longer a threat to us and we can now get on with our lives.

I’m just wondering what people’s plans are re distancing in queues. Are you planning to maintain some distance between you and the person in front?

Couldn’t agree more. Bil and sil think they’re saving the world… the Ocado man and all the others in the distribution line don’t seem to count….

Wow so it's people unwittingly ordering stuff that has killed people working in factories now? Is this what the billionaire bosses of boo hoo said when it was discovered that their staff weren't working long hours for less than nmw in cramped not covid safe conditions? Not their problem people should save the workers we subjugate by stop ordering our clothes?

No, it's about those people shaming others for going to supermarkets for non essentials and then smugly proclaiming that they are staying home to protect others, conveniently forgetting that other people have to go out to allow them to stay home.

The mental gymnastics these people do to justify them being perfectly fine with others taking risks on their behalf is astonishing.

I shall maintain my usual British stiff upper lip level distance at the checkouts but no more lanyard and apologising for being unable to wear a mask.

I'm in Melbourne, so in lockdown and detest the checkout counter shufflers. I get round it by unloading my trolley from the front, keeping it between me and the morons.
