Freedom day is upon us. COVID is no longer a threat to us and we can now get on with our lives.

I’m just wondering what people’s plans are re distancing in queues. Are you planning to maintain some distance between you and the person in front?

Yes.

I hope everyone does, let’s respect each other and be sensible

TooWicked · 18/07/2021 19:42

Yes. The same as I did before covid.

cookiesandcreamm · 18/07/2021 19:42

Yep!

amymel2016 · 18/07/2021 19:43

Yes

WowIlikereallyhateyou · 18/07/2021 19:43

Yes, because it isn’t just about me.

EssentialHummus · 18/07/2021 19:43

Yes. It’s such an easy thing, I don’t see why not. Also giving people space if they seem vulnerable/elderly (I know not all/even the majority of CV people look like Granny, but still).

mum2jakie · 18/07/2021 19:43

Yes I think it would feel uncomfortable not to. I won't be wearing a mask either so wouldn't want to upset others in the queue by getting too close.

CornishYarg · 18/07/2021 19:44

Yes but I always have

aiwblam · 18/07/2021 19:44

Yes because it’s rude and stupid not to.

RightOnTheEdge · 18/07/2021 19:46

I'm tired of all the rules and hate wearing masks but I've got no problem keeping my distance from strangers.

Againstmachine · 18/07/2021 19:47

I will as it's how it always should be I respect personal space, I usually wear a rucksack to creat space as people seem to be on top of you.

But I won't be wearing a mask

newnortherner111 · 18/07/2021 19:47

Yes and wear face coverings in shops. I use self service tills in part to give space to others.

AbsolutelyPatsy · 18/07/2021 19:48

yes, and wearing a mask in shops

AddsVsGeorgs · 18/07/2021 19:48

are the shops getting rid of their perspex screens?

Pinotwoman82 · 18/07/2021 19:49

Yes of course

Janedownourlane · 18/07/2021 19:51

Yes, like I always have. I have asthma and always avoid being too close in a queue, colds and viruses can lead to a chest infection which I want to avoid.
Plus, its polite to stay out of someone else's personal space.

scottish83 · 18/07/2021 19:52

I've noticed that 2m was well observed at the start of the pandemic but over time people have gradually gotten closer to each other in the few queues which remain.

Human nature being what it is, I don't see people going back to zero spacing immediately but it will probably happen in the fullness of time.

tommmanndjjerrry · 18/07/2021 19:52

I'm not wearing a mask.

My anxiety is through the roof and wearing a mask makes breathing harder, my skin is also dry and sore and spotty. I've had enough.

But I will keep my distance as i always have before covid. Can't stand space invaders pandemic or not.

Whatever9999 · 18/07/2021 19:53

Yes because I really dislike anyone getting in my personal space, always have done. If I can smell your perfume/cologne/BO then you're too close to me and I'll be uncomfortable.

My boys have been told that if someone is wearing a mask then that means that they need to give them extra space. Up till now thats meant outdoors, they know from tomorrow it includes indoors

No, I was being a bit sarcastic towards the government’s actions. Sorry if that didn’t come across!

SonnetForSpring · 18/07/2021 19:55

Of course. Why wouldn't you?

Curlygirl06 · 18/07/2021 19:55

@AbsolutelyPatsy

are the shops getting rid of their perspex screens?
A lot of companies aren't. If they take them down they have to be stored somewhere, in case they are needed again and not all shops have the room. Then there's the problem of putting them back up again and associated costs.
