A good start to his tenure as Health Secretary. Sounds about right!

Yep. It’s all theatre and propaganda. More manipulation meant to steer us into the next direction they need us/want us to go.

Dustyboots · 18/07/2021 08:55

They must think the vast majority of the British population are stupid.

Dustyboots · 18/07/2021 08:58

According to the Guardian:

Boris Johnson and Rishi Sunak are part of a pilot scheme

A pilot scheme we’ve only just heard of ...

peridito · 18/07/2021 08:59

It seems that people in the scheme test every day, go to work but isolate when not at work .

Isolating while travelling to work is going to require avoiding public transport isn't it? Tricky for many .

Which direction do you suppose they might want us to go?
peridito · 18/07/2021 09:00

Workplaces need a testing system in place for asymptomatic people and individuals taking part must self-isolate when not working

peridito · 18/07/2021 09:03

Re reading that extract from BBC report - so everyone in the trial is self isolating while not at work ? Who would want to be on a trial like that ?

noblegiraffe · 18/07/2021 09:05

A pilot scheme we’ve only just heard of ...

tbf it's been running in 200 schools since March and was extended to some workplaces in May.

No idea when it's due to report results though.

ineedaholidaynow · 18/07/2021 09:09

Hopefully soon @noblegiraffe as I assume the results are being used to explain why from August 16th double jabbed people and children won’t need to isolate if they are a contact.

bumbleymummy · 18/07/2021 09:14

And how they can justify vaccine passports at all.

Well who is going to.isolate when not at work? The general public won't! Ridiculous.

Absolutely this. How transparent. They all want us to do the same. Go to work and isolate at home. Ffs
LIZS · 18/07/2021 11:09

They are now self isolating!

herecomesthsun · 18/07/2021 11:36

@IndigoC

Very visible example of vaccine breakthrough. It’s always mild at the beginning, hoping it stays so for him.

I thought Boris looked unwell last week. I wonder…

Always mild? I recall that around 30% of covid deaths were being reported as having been in doubly vaccinated people. Presumably not mild for them?
Whiskycav · 18/07/2021 11:40

@LIZS

I really cant believe they even considered not doing.

My son is in isolation again. Was back at school 3 fucking days.

I am so angry that isolation is whatever one else has to but they can just jump into a trial and other do it.

That little bit of news (them not isolating) really tipped me over the edge this morning .

No we first heard of it when Michael Gove got pinged!

I love the thought of Johnson, Sunak and Javid having to isolate for ten days on 'Freedom Day'
