Today should be the last day you can can get that dreaded call from school ….the sinking feeling of another child isolating, the stress and anguish it causes, I wish you all a phone call free day! It feels like a big moment for me

@noblegiraffe

So when you said ‘no one thinks they are covid secure’, Marsha, you actually mean that quite a few did. (Not you of course…)
I asked for examples on this thread in response to the you’re all stupid stuff

I can’t see any

Pretty much everyone gets they won’t be secure

noblegiraffe · 16/07/2021 17:57

Yes and I asked if people had been lying for the last year.

So were they lying?

itsgettingwierd · 16/07/2021 18:01

Close contacts still isolate.

A close contact will be determined by what measures are in place, mitigation's etc.

So a bubble won't be sent home. But if your child has st next to a positive case for an hour or a whole day they'll be isolating as a close contact.

No one is safe from school isolations until 48 hours after the last day of term.

noblegiraffe · 16/07/2021 18:02

But if your child has st next to a positive case for an hour or a whole day they'll be isolating as a close contact

Not according to the DfE flowchart which suggests only things like sleepovers will be taken into account.

Oh I've not seen that!

We aren't changing anything anyway but I'm glad to see the usual shot spouted by Gav.

Your child can only catch covid from a peer at a sleepover - not say next to them in an unventilated classroom all day 🤦🏼‍♀️

MarshaBradyo · 16/07/2021 18:06

@noblegiraffe

Yes and I asked if people had been lying for the last year.

So were they lying?

Well do you think they did? What next if so

It was a campaign to get dc back into school since parents might be overly anxious re Covid, where very few would get sick, which was the case.

If you have an issue I don’t know take it up with your MP

noblegiraffe · 16/07/2021 18:12

What are you on about, Marsha. You know people thought schools were covid secure despite claiming no one did. Why are you telling me to contact my MP?

Comefromaway · 16/07/2021 18:12

Noble has spent the last year with people telling her that schools are totally safe.

Barbie222 · 16/07/2021 18:14

@Waxonwaxoff0

How can they rely on Reception age children to remember who they have been in close contact with?
There was a hilarious video about this somewhere. Spider-Man, Peppa Pig...
noblegiraffe · 16/07/2021 18:14

Yeah, itsgetting

“ The government says that schools will not be routinely contacted by NHS Test and Trace. Individual positive cases and/or their parents or legal guardians would instead be contacted and their close contacts would be traced and asked to follow relevant public health advice.

The guidance says: “Contacts in an educational setting will be traced if the positive case specifically identified an individual as having close, prolonged contact which will normally have occurred in a social setting e.g. sleepovers.””

Mad, isn’t it?

I’m wondering the same about your posts

I corrected the stupid claim as no one has said what that posted thought on here

Now you are going full on about lying etc and I can’t say more than what I personally thought. It was a campaign to get dc back in.

Whattodonow5 · 16/07/2021 18:16

Picked all kids up and at 20 past 3 got the dreaded email and text. Gutted.

noblegiraffe · 16/07/2021 18:19

You could have replied to my question with ‘I meant no one on this thread thinks they are covid secure’ when I referred to the last year saving us all a lot of time.

MarshaBradyo · 16/07/2021 18:20

Scroll back to see words

who has said that on this thread?

You wasted the time and mine not reading it

noblegiraffe · 16/07/2021 18:23

Think my question was pretty clear about the past year 🤷‍♀️

MarshaBradyo · 16/07/2021 18:24

To which I answered a campaign

Honestly go have a nice Friday drink ;

pjd · 16/07/2021 18:26

The local authority that my school is in wrote to all headteachers yesterday to ask them to continue with existing measures until term ends, in other words maintain bubbles and keep doing the contact tracing, meaning send pupils home to isolate if they have been in close proximity to a positive case. I understand that several local authorities have done the same. However ASCL (the headteachers' union) are taking issue with this, saying that it contradicts the DfE guidance. They have said, rightly, that national and local government need to be delivering the same message. But I would say don't presume that you're safe if you've made it to the end of today. I'd say many schools will continue to contact trace and ask pupils to isolate next week, which is why I'm not sending my child to school next week, something I never ever thought I would say, given that I'm a teacher!

AlwaysLatte · 16/07/2021 18:26

My eldest has another full week at school, then his big brother's wedding the following day. There have been positive cases in his year so we're all holding our breath that we don't get told to isolate and miss it!!

noblegiraffe · 16/07/2021 18:28

You read like you’ve already had one, Marsha, your response still doesn’t make sense.

MarshaBradyo · 16/07/2021 18:29

Why?
iloveredpandas · 16/07/2021 18:29

@FrippEnos

Once again stupid people believe that schools are "secure" from covid.

It beggars belief.

Who said that?! Can't see that mentioned anywhere on this thread.
MarshaBradyo · 16/07/2021 18:33

If you don’t get stuff as simple as why the message schools are safe would be used for parents to send dc back I can’t really help you Giraffe

You’ll just have to try and figure it out. I haven’t had a drink yet but do want to stop engaging on this circular and ridiculous point you keep making so ill leave you to it.

noblegiraffe · 16/07/2021 18:37

“No one thinks schools are covid secure”

“Do you think people have been lying for the last year?”

“If you don’t get stuff as simple as why the message schools are safe would be used for parents to send dc back I can’t really help you”

So is that a yes or a no?

MarshaBradyo · 16/07/2021 18:39

It’s a no one thinks it now or on this thread. As was clear in first post to pp.

If they did before fine up to them.

Painful
