How are the 'Great Reset' conspiracists dealing with regulations coming to an end?

Last year I ended up removing a couple of people from my FB friends because they went full on 'Great Reset' conspiracy mad.

They did believe that COVID existed but thought that it was 'just like the flu' and being used as an excuse to put society under controls which would last forever and was the first step in some kind of global conspiracy.

I always wondered how they would square things to themselves once a vaccine was introduced and the controls were lifted.

Would they admit they'd been wrong (I feel like the answer is definitely not)...

Anyone stayed friends with a conspiracy theorist long enough to know how they're addressing the fact that the controls are coming to an end?

Everything that they said has come true, if you think the control is coming to an end then more fool you. The World Economic Forum have set out what is to happen, it's not like they are hiding it.

I couldn’t stay friends with a conspiracy theorist. My dad was on the slippery slope before he died; he started with 7/7 was an inside job and went downhill from there.

I'm an optimist on the degree of new world order Grin and I do believe that reopening is inevitable, if only because people are fed up, but ... I would note that "Lambda" variant has just arrived on the scene. New and improved transmission and now with added vaccine resistance! Get yours now!

Yeah...I mean viruses be doing virus stuff.

But yes, I can see that if a new variation emerges that requires further restrictions the conspiracists will come back with that. But whatever happens, this pandemic is going to end and the restrictions will end.

Hopefully this is it (touch wood).

But I do wonder how the conspiracists will react when it's all done?

And as for the Great Reset...which is a conference themed on building a more sustainable and fair economy managed to get twisted into whatever it is that they think it means(?) I don't know!

I imagine we will have a few months of 'freedom' and then will face more lockdowns/restrictions this winter. I hope I'm wrong though! Conspiracy theorists have been right about a fair bit so far but most actually want to be proved wrong. The best outcome for all is that the conspiracy theorists were wrong about everything! Guess we'll see.

I can’t personally recall anything that they’ve been ‘right about a fair bit so far’, and I’d also question that conspiracy theorists want to be proved wrong. They tend to be rather convinced that they’re right. In my experience they also consider themselves a cut above those that they consider the ‘sheep’ of society.

@DismantledKing I can only speak for myself but the best outcome for me is to be proved wrong! I'm not trying to prove I'm smarter than anyone else. The 'conspiracy theorists' called each lockdown well before it was announced, i.e. they knew 'freedom by Easter' was a lie. They also called that vaccines would be mandatory for NHS staff and vaccine passports, which haven't been brought into the UK thankfully but have in other countries. Some countries have mandated vaccinations or placed financial penalties on those that refuse.
The lab leak theory is also widely excepted now and there have been more studies done on the use of ivermectin, which was dismissed for a long time but has proven effective in other countries.

I'm not about to say that they are right about everything, misinformation can happen on both sides and has but I just like to look at all the info and try to decide from there. It doesn't help when censorship is at an all time high either, that only fuels more conspiracy theories!

I'm not trying to convince anyone though, just my two cents since the OP asked, although I think she was only asking so she could be rude to said people.

We don’t need conspiracy theories, surely the true reason for this, the virus explains everything that has happened. I can’t understand people that feel the need to confuse everything. It’s a global pandemic, people have died, honestly they have. For better or worse governments have reacted.
There really is no more to it than that!

Once masks are finished they'll probably go back to the pre-covid they don't want us to wear masks so they can track us with the facial recognition cameras. That one was pretty popular before Covid scuppered it.
