Not that I or DS (17) have much of a choice. We live in central London, do not have a car and DS won't be vaccinated till next year.

Yes, that’s how I get to work, and quite frankly I can’t wait to be unmasked on the tube.

MareofBeasttown · 05/07/2021 09:06

And you are not nervous at all? DS is isolating now bcos there are 3 cases in his class.

Yes. Like you, I live in London & don’t drive. If I want to get on with my life I need to take public transport. Admittedly I’m double vaccinated so that’s reassuring.

MareofBeasttown · 05/07/2021 09:06

I am double vaxxed as well.

@MareofBeasttown no. I’ve travelled into work throughout the pandemic. I’m also 29 weeks pregnant. But life goes on. I’ve had one jab, won’t have the other until August.

ssd · 05/07/2021 09:07

Theres no choice

OliverBabish · 05/07/2021 09:07

I think I’d just carry on wearing one myself if I was worried about it. I probably will wear a mask out and about during flu and cold season from now on to be honest, now that it’s more socially acceptable. It makes sense

PurpleDaisies · 05/07/2021 09:07

I don’t use the tube for fun. It’s out of necessity. I’ll continue to wear a mask when I use it.

Waxonwaxoff0 · 05/07/2021 09:08

Yep. I'm not in London but I can't drive so have to use public transport where I live. I am not scared of Covid though.

SpnBaby1967 · 05/07/2021 09:08

Yes? Why wouldnt I?

DrDetriment · 05/07/2021 09:09

I've been on the tube a lot in the last month and a large proportion of people are unmasked already or with their mask under their nose so I can't see it will be that much different. I'm doubled vaxxed but might carry on wearing a mask on the tube if it's busy.

MareofBeasttown · 05/07/2021 09:09

Yes I will wear a mask and so will DS, tho not at all sure if it is much use, but can't hurt.

LaurieFairyCake · 05/07/2021 09:10

God yes, it's too hot for mask wearing - half the tube lines don't have air conditioning

It's BOILING down there

CrouchEndTiger12 · 05/07/2021 09:11

Yes. I can't wait for masks to stop and I use the tube daily for work.

GolfEchoRomeoTangoIndia · 05/07/2021 09:13

It’s not ideal, but I’m double vaccinated and not vulnerable so will live with it.

igelkott2021 · 05/07/2021 09:14

I think masks should continue to be required on public transport - it will reduce coughs/colds and flu as well as covid. At least during the winter months.

BillyRaywasapreachersson · 05/07/2021 09:15

I will not be wearing one very happily, central line with mask plus hot flushes has been grim.

Jasmine11 · 05/07/2021 09:15

It's too hot on the tube for masks, I've been complying but as soon as we don't have to wear them I won't. I am double vaxxed though and so is DH. I'm sure lots of people will continue wearing them though, so if you want to OP, then why not.

DoThePropeller · 05/07/2021 09:16

Yes I will, tube has been horrible with masks on hot days, I’ll be glad to have the choice.

Hotcuppatea · 05/07/2021 09:18

Yes. And I won't be wearing a mask either.

hellogem · 05/07/2021 09:18

I don't get why the uk is dying to get rid of face mask so soon!! Look at every other country and it's people, and then look at the uk, honestly makes me laugh.
There's no reason why we should stop face mask now, it should be continued well in to 2222,
We have been in the best health since keeping away from humans and observing a mask

Geamhradh · 05/07/2021 09:18

Yes, but I'd wear one.
Double vaccinated.

SmidgenofaPigeon · 05/07/2021 09:19

@hellogem and no one is going to stop you cracking on if it’s still something you want to practice.

CrouchEndTiger12 · 05/07/2021 09:20

Speak for yourself!

I speak for myself and some.of my colleagues and friends and their children when they say the constant isolation has ruined their mental health.

Watapalava · 05/07/2021 09:20

Hellogem

We are more vaccinated than any of those other countries

They’ll likely follow suit
