We need to cancel our U.K. break don’t we?

Sad

DTs off isolating due to a case in their primary bubble. DTs are fine with no symptoms. We are supposed to be going on holiday next week to a U.K. caravan but their isolation does not end until mid week.

We have a policy which will allow us to move it free of cost but I am so sad it’s another one cancelled Sad

Do schools check? Is this something that's enforceable or just like the app telling you to isolate?

bettybyebye · 29/06/2021 21:37

I wouldn’t cancel

Watapalava · 29/06/2021 21:38

T&T don’t contact via school isolations

I’d go and test daily

CoffeeRunner · 29/06/2021 21:39

I'd get your household PCR tests. If negative I would go.

xksismybestletter · 29/06/2021 21:39

Why do you need to cancel? I've read it that the trip is after the SI period?

U2HasTheEdge · 29/06/2021 21:41

No way would I cancel unless they test positive.

Watapalava · 29/06/2021 21:43

I wouldn’t test unless symptoms

It’s becoming ridiculous now

People are vaccinated

covidcloser · 29/06/2021 21:43

Im in Scotland and currently have DS isolating. We got the text from school first then a text from test and protect confirming he has to isolate. We had to miss our holiday.

Watapalava · 29/06/2021 21:43

The rest of the family that is

I’d test the child isolating perhaps

Watapalava · 29/06/2021 21:44

England suffers I think

My dds have never been contacted outside of school

Watapalava · 29/06/2021 21:44

Differs

TheMotherlode · 29/06/2021 21:45

I would do a couple of PCR tests and if negative would still go on the holiday.

notmethenwho · 29/06/2021 21:45

Get DTs tested and if it's negative, go!

flossletsfloss · 29/06/2021 21:47

I wouldn't cancel. Just test daily. It's ridiculous all of this. It has to stop.

DGFB · 29/06/2021 21:47

I’d also test and go! The vulnerable are vaccinated

Thislittlefinger123 · 29/06/2021 21:48

I would test and go. If the Scottish football team didn't have to isolate when one of their team mates tested positive, then I wouldn't be making my DC miss out on a holiday. We did used to stick fully to the rules, until it's slowly become clear that the rules are only for some people and not others. A whole year having to isolate for one case is ridiculous.

Shesaysso · 29/06/2021 21:50

Don’t cancel - do tests and then go.

pyjamams13 · 29/06/2021 21:50

I've got a few things booked over the next few weeks. Wouldn't even consider cancelling if one of their bubbles collapsed

LizJamIsFab · 29/06/2021 21:51

I’d go and have a lovely time

VariantL1130 · 29/06/2021 21:54

If daily testing is good enough for Michael Gove who was a contact it's good enough for your DC.

BrilliantBetty · 29/06/2021 21:56

Don't cancel yet. Will they take a test?
If no symptoms and no positive.. go and enjoy.

Crunchymum · 29/06/2021 21:59

What is the overlap?

Depending on how you are travelling / where you are staying and what you ha s planned, I'd probably still go.

(If you are driving, have your own accommodation and have lots of outdoor activities planned that is different from public transport / shared accommodation and lots of indoor activities)

Keepitonthedownlow · 29/06/2021 22:00

Test and go

Fitforforty · 29/06/2021 22:01

@DGFB

I’d also test and go! The vulnerable are vaccinated
For many, many vulnerable the vaccine is not effective or not very effective.
Itsokthanks · 29/06/2021 22:04

I wouldn't cancel. Just get him to do a test before you go. All these kids self isolating is getting ridiculous.
