There's so many posters posting untruths. I'm more scared of them than any pandemic.

Tealightsandd · 29/06/2021 17:33

And plenty of countries, Australia included, absolutely have contained it. Hence very short swift action to quickly contain a small handful of cases in one or two Australian states. One to two weeks. Very brief. Then fully back to proper normal. My family in Australia (and New Zealand) have been living largely normal lives the last year.

No school disruption, no mass deaths or disabilities, business as normal, offices, shops, pubs, all open as normal.

And they're getting vaccinated too. Slowly, yes, but they're not high risk UK. They have no great urgency. But it's happening. Family members in their early 40s have had their Pfizer (doses being done in the 3 week spacing).

You're completely batty if you think things aren't going well (with mostly very normal life) over there.

I'm beginning to wonder whether you are secretly Silent But Deadly? Are you Rishi (throws away taxpayer money on harebrained schemes) Sunak? You may be dishy on the outside, but you're a shit chancellor, I'm afraid.

Chillychangchoo · 29/06/2021 17:35

@Tealightsandd

Well the horse bolted long ago for the UK in regards to containing this virus. Not saying that was right but that ship has sailed.

You absolutely cannot contain it now. We are not Australia, our demographics are very different.

If you really think it can be contained at this stage of the game then I am absolutely flabbergasted.

Baileysforchristmas · 29/06/2021 17:36

Your right I’m off to watch the football I can’t read anymore of this nonsense

There's a word for that Watapalava
Accusing others of doing what you are doing.

Everything I've posted has been backed up by data, facts, reports, research - all from credible scientific and medical sources (not Facebook or Tik Tok). You can check through the links I put up over the last week. I'll add more or repost later (after the shops).

Now you on the other hand. Insulting parents of CEV and CV children. Not nice.

Watapalava · 29/06/2021 17:38

How did I insult

I posted ons data

Scientific one may say

Watapalava · 29/06/2021 17:39

Did you miss the memo today about Australia about to go down as massive failure?!

I'm afraid it has to be contained at some point. They'll come a time (yet again) when it will be impossible not to.

The only choice we have is whether to do it sooner (the less painful way) or later (the more difficult way).

Sadly yet again deja vu, our government has opted for the more painfully way.
Prolonging the inevitable. Again.

Many people seem incapable of understanding the (big) difference between eliminate, and suppress and contain.

Chillychangchoo · 29/06/2021 17:46

Nar, there will be no suppress and contain. We will have to get on with life, there will be deaths each year much like the flu. They’ll tweak the vaccine year on year to deal with the variants which essentially will be job done.

Guess there’s always climate change to get hysterical about though, so fear not 👍.

Tealightsandd · 29/06/2021 17:46

Put simply (and still some will refuse to get it, despite the deja vu).

It's impossible to have normal, with uncontained Covid rampaging through the country.

Particularly with a new more vaccine resistant strain. And the free spread, of course, increases the risk of an even more vaccine resistant variant developing (is it any wonder other countries are restricting entry from us).

The longer this fact is ignored, the more difficult and painful it will be to deal with. Head in sand all you like won't change that reality.

Chillychangchoo · 29/06/2021 17:49

Ahh the “vaccine resistant strains”. Except there won’t be will there? They do have the technology to deal with new variants. Sorry to break that news to you.

Tealightsandd · 29/06/2021 17:50

Before climate change (which will never be tackled, as we didn't limit flights even during a pandemic), they'll be a more immediate issue.

The immense burden of Long Covid.

The extent of the problem won't be fully apparent for another year or two. (And so it will continue to be downplayed until it is too late).

I think you’ll find the immense burden we now face will be the mental health fallout from all of this, not long covid. Sorry to disappoint you again.

Erm, we haven't been jabbed with the tweaked vaccines yet.

And the UK government is spreading the more vaccine resistant Delta strain across the country.

www.theguardian.com/world/2021/jun/27/delta-covid-variant-may-be-edging-race-against-vaccines

It's particularly the case with AZ (and why those given it might need a mRNA booster).

Sorry to break that news to you.

Arrowheart · 29/06/2021 17:59

Oh Tealight you really need to cheer up

Well during those two years I am going to be grabbing life by the scruff of the neck and making the most of it.

The only way to be absolutely safe is to lock ourselves away. That's not for me anymore- I'd rather make the most of the days that I have before your predicted Armageddon arrives.

My vulnerable parents agree with me.

Tealightsandd · 29/06/2021 18:01

www.itv.com/news/2021-06-29/covid-two-oxford-vaccines-produce-low-level-of-antibodies-against-delta-variant-study-shows

This might be why around 40% of Delta deaths in the UK are in the double vaccinated.

We need to know the vaccine breakdown for those deaths. If it's mostly AZ, people who've been given it need mRNA boosters (particularly those over 45 and/or with underlying conditions).

Yes this.

Absolutely this.

Chillychangchoo · 29/06/2021 18:02

Please can you provide a link to your quote “many people who are dying after being double jabbed with AZ”

Curious to see such data so where is it? Please post credible news articles/correct data in reference to the above.

Tealightsandd · 29/06/2021 18:03

We didn't have to be in this position. We didn't have to import and then let freely spread the Delta strain.

It's more than likely an even more vaccine resistant strain will develop in the UK. Due to the (current) failure to suppress and contain the spread.

TheVampiresWife · 29/06/2021 18:04

But I suppose for those who secretly enjoy the deaths, disability, and restrictions, who want yet more stop start stop start, well yes they must be (secretly) 😊 about dragging it out

Oh this is vile. Suggesting people are 'enjoying' the deaths of thousands of people. Too far, @Tealightsandd.

Tealightsandd · 29/06/2021 18:04

I posted about it yesterday on one of the threads. Others did too. Must get to shops now. Have a look through the threads of yesterday.

Around 117 Delta deaths in UK. Of those 50 were double vaccinated. So about 40%.

Chillychangchoo · 29/06/2021 18:07

@Tealightsandd

Ahh right, the word “might” 🤔

So no real tangible data then.

As expected. Because there isn’t any. You cannot provide any evidence of your outlandish claims.

You claimed that there have been many people who have died from covid even after being jabbed twice with AZ. You cannot prove this because it’s simply not true.

Tealightsandd · 29/06/2021 18:08

Ah ok. But it's perfectly fine, not at all vile, to suggest that me and others are enjoying the lockdowns and restrictions? And to tell the vulnerable to 'just live with it' and to 'lock themselves away'. And about the deaths the old favourite of some on here 'its only the elderly and vulnerable'. And it's fine for Watapalava to dismiss concerns of worried parents of CEV children (who quite reasonably want their children prioritised for vaccines).
Chillychangchoo · 29/06/2021 18:10

@Tealightsandd

Stop deflecting and provide us with the data of the many people who have apparently died of covid after being jabbed twice with AZ.
