Will you continue to wear a mask?

I absolutely will NOT.

I'm counting the days until I can ditch the horrible things.

Yes! Without a shadow of a doubt. I love the hat, sunglasses, mask combo, I am completely hidden.
I hope they remain the norm for whenever people have colds etc. I suspect they will where I live (NY- people are very compliant) but probably not in the U.K. where everyone moans about them or seeks an exemption.

QueefofSheena · 25/06/2021 18:07

Yep, I’ll be following the Asian model and using them in public spaces. I don’t see why people make such a big fuss about it, it’s quite pathetic.

nc8765 · 25/06/2021 18:09

My god no. Can't wait to stop wearing the fucking things!

Whatever9999 · 25/06/2021 18:11

I'm exempt so don't wear one anyway, but can't wait until everyone else ditches theirs.

I'm autistic with sensory processing issues and other people wearing masks is almost as stressful for me as my trying to wear one.

Firstly because I know you're supposed to look at someone when they talk to you, but I struggle with eye contact. If someone is wearing a mask I'm forced to look in people's eyes which makes me extremely uncomfortable.

Then there's the fact that I struggle to understand what's behind what someone is saying enough when I can see the whole face, with 75% of the face covered I don't have a clue whether they're happy/sad/angry/joking/being nasty

Then I struggle to differentiate between voices/background noise at the best of times, add a mask muffling the voice and again I'm struggling big style. And if I can't follow a conversation and can't look.at the speaker (because I can't avoid the eyes), I'm very, very aware that this isn't normal social behaviour, so I want to interact even less.than normal

Diamondsareforever123 · 25/06/2021 18:11

I agree masks are horrible but they offer protection against a potentially fatal virus. I cannot believe that some people are saying they offer no protection - they truly do. Why do surgeons wear them in operating theatres? I'll continue to wear a mask.

KatherineJaneway · 25/06/2021 18:11

No

Elisandra · 25/06/2021 18:12

All you moaning do realise that anyone caring for you or your loved ones will be in mandatory full PPE for 12+ hours a day. Does that not make you feel a bit shitty for whining about sticking a mask on to pop into Tescos?

Spekoppar · 25/06/2021 18:15

Yes, in enclosed spaces where other people are near. It not that big a deal for me and has benefits so I don’t see a reason not to.

MummyPop00 · 25/06/2021 18:16

Hate them & think the difference they make is negligible.

On the other hand, if you want to avoid certain people, lot easier going incognito wearing one.

So swings & roundabouts.

Guess what, even people I know who have to wear full PPE 12hours a day don't like having to continue to wear them out of work.
Hughbert · 25/06/2021 18:17

Not voluntarily. I don't "whine about putting one on to go to Tesco", but if I don't have to wear one, I will not. B

lljkk · 25/06/2021 18:19

Q for those of you saying yes... will you wear them forever in public places or just until some unspecified time?

firstimemamma · 25/06/2021 18:20

No way! I already don't bother wearing one in Aldi and no-one cares.

BigfatJ · 25/06/2021 18:20

Yes I love mine

Tatum1234 · 25/06/2021 18:26

No chance, I absolutely hate them and don’t think they work anyway. They just remind me that things aren’t normal which doesn’t help.

No whining here. I wear one where I'm required to. I just won't when it's no longer a legal requirement.
wasthataburp · 25/06/2021 18:28

No, don't wear one now and won't ever. Unless I was actually ill

Overthebow · 25/06/2021 18:28

No, as soon as they’re not mandatory I’m never wearing one again.

Aposterhasnoname · 25/06/2021 18:30

I’ll be having a huge bonfire with the blasted things, and I’ll fuel it with hand sanitiser. Can’t wait.

Freefalling22 · 25/06/2021 18:30

The sooner the better. This from someone with medical/health issues. I can't stand them anymore.
We need normal lives back.

Because the patient has an open wound. Entirely different and actual threat of real infection

No not at all
SonnetForSpring · 25/06/2021 18:36

I don't know. Depends on what is happening with cases, hospitalizations and deaths.

JesusInTheCabbageVan · 25/06/2021 18:36

I'll be glad to see the back of them because I am so utterly sick of seeing them dumped everywhere. I probably see around 5-10 every time I take the dog out. Not bothered about wearing them (e.g in a taxi if the driver asks) but I hope they don't become a regular thing.

Dontforgetyourbrolly · 25/06/2021 18:36

Nope!
Scraps of cloth are actually pointless
Not many people are wearing medical grade masks and changing them every 15 mins .
