@Sonarl

I can't be a fighter pilot because I don't have perfect eyesight.

I can't be an athlete because I don't have the right body.

I can't even be cabin crew because I'm too short.

if you can't have a vaccine to protect the vulnerable people you care for then boo hoo you can't do that job, do one of the millions of others.

Not a good example, the first 3 are all intrinsic and naturally occurring.
vodkaredbullgirl · 22/06/2021 09:44

I can turn the microwave on from the next room.

Because whenever they have asked, users have voted against one. There are plenty of other sites with that functionality, if that's what you want. Here, you need to engage rather more with the conversation

RealhousewifeofStoke · 22/06/2021 09:53

@SisyphusDad

I agree. It's really bad. Every now and again my vision goes completely blue and a message saying 'Windows 10 needs to reboot' pops up. I never used to get that.
If you plug yourself into your charger overnight you might reboot automatically. HTH.

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 Great replies.

Covid passports, vaccines for children, lockdowns not ending, virus from wuhan lab, no freedoms even when you do take the vaccine, deaths from healthy people having the Covid vaccine, vaccines altering DNA (Mrna does enter dna) lockdown again this winter.... I could go on actually. It’s funny until you really look at it.

What if these are conspiracy theories?

Why is a covid passport a conspiracy theory? Why is it different to, say, a yellow fever passport, or proof you have an up to date tetnus shot, which many jobs and travel requires?

What is ‘conspiracy theory’ about children being vaccinated? You are aware vaccinations of all types have saved countless millions of children’s lives?

No freedoms? I suggest you open your mind a little, and take a look at the world around you if you think we are living with no freedoms Hmm

Healthy people dying of the jab? Something like one in every 3 million- fairly standard for a vaccine. Obviously terrible for the people involved

mRNA entering DNA, what are you on? I suggest you read some basic GCSE text books. Your cells are chock a block full of mRNA. It reads the DNA. It doesn’t enter it. It is made of a different set of bases. And in the case of the vaccine, it works only in the cytoplasm, and the DNA is in the nucleus. Natural mRNA strands form in the nucleus and exit through a pore. This does not happen backwards. I would expect my bottom set year 9 to know that

Virus from Wuhan lab? This isn’t man made. There has never been any dispute that it MIGHT have escaped from a lab. No more ‘conspiracy theory’ than a lion escaping from a zoo. The lion is not man made. Nor is the virus.

Lockdowns? Have a look at di e if the lockdowns people have lived through in past pandemics, and grow up

Honestly. Apply a little common sense

Not a good example, the first 3 are all intrinsic and naturally occurring

So is the fourth, as it's can't have, not chose not to

RealhousewifeofStoke · 22/06/2021 09:56

‘Not a good example, the first 3 are all intrinsic and naturally occurring.

There are thousands of health care workers in this country who have had to provide evidence of vaccination status for years in order to fulfil conditions of employment. And I’ve yet to see evidence of a single one being bundled into the back of a van to be forcibly jabbed.

roguetomato · 22/06/2021 10:00

Meh, just believe have you like.

3luckystars · 22/06/2021 10:01

Some people were afraid of eating potatoes when they arrived here first. They were treated with suspicion and fear too.

13579db · 22/06/2021 10:02

Did you know 42 pregnant women each week are dying of Covid in Brazil? Have you seen tv footage of the mass graves in Brazil? How else do you explain this if you think Covid is a hoax?

AgathaAllAlong · 22/06/2021 10:02

@pinktables I agree with you, but those things are considered conspiracy theories! Lab leak from China (a lab financed in part by the US)was taboo to talk about for almost a year.

It is not a legal requirement, it is a choice. Only surgeons doing very invasive procedures are under some obligation to have hep B. If you think otherwise you are not correct.

🤣 having had a vaccine is not an intrinsic characteristic. It’s an acquired characteristic
Cakeofdoom · 22/06/2021 10:10

@screwcovid

Heard one yesterday we are all going to be in tag type bracelets from December
Already happening - my son has to wear one in a factory that bleeps if he comes within 2 meters of another person...yet there were 60,000 at a football match absolutely not 2m apart

Because they're not British, and not white in some cases either, and COVID conspiracy theorists do not give a flying fuck in a rolling doughnut about people living in countries outside their own. They see Indians and Brazilians as expendable.
Skinnytailedsquirrel · 22/06/2021 10:14

OP has obviously had the vaccine and now can't spell.

RealhousewifeofStoke · 22/06/2021 10:22

‘It is not a legal requirement, it is a choice. ’

What’s your point? Who is being legally forced to have a vaccine?

TatianaBis · 22/06/2021 10:23

Conventional wisdom is that RNA cannot affect DNA.

However a Harvard/MIT preprint indicated Covid RNA may be reverse transcribed in human cells. In support of its hypothesis the study found evidence that DNA sequences can be integrated into the cell genome and subsequently be transcribed (a process called ‘retro-integration’) and shows viable cellular pathways by which this happens.

We found chimeric transcripts consisting of viral fused to cellular sequences in published data sets of SARS-CoV-2 infected cultured cells and primary cells of patients, consistent with the transcription of viral sequences integrated into the genome.

SARS-CoV-2 RNAs can be reverse transcribed in human cells by reverse transcriptase (RT) from LINE-1 elements or by HIV-1 RT, and that these DNA sequences can be integrated into the cell genome and subsequently be transcribed.

Human endogenous LINE-1 expression was induced upon SARS-CoV-2 infection or by cytokine exposure in cultured cells, suggesting a molecular mechanism for SARS-CoV-2 retro-integration in patients.

This novel feature of SARS-CoV-2 infection may explain why patients can continue to produce viral RNA after recovery and suggests a new aspect of RNA virus replication.

Not entirely. Many people with less than perfect vision COULD learn to fly a plane, and would be safe doing so, as long as nothing unusual occurs and weather conditions are favourable. But they are not permitted to do so, because of the dangers when unusual things occur or the weather conditions are unfavourable. It's possible that someone could say 'but isn't that an infringement on their freedom? They are prevented from getting the job they want, just for the sake of OTHER people, who probably would be OK most of the time!' Normally, this would not be seen as a valid argument.

To give a more common example, people with certain visual difficulties may be advised not to drive a car. Not only will this prevent them from getting jobs as train/ bus/ coach/ taxi drivers, but from getting many other jobs where driving is a requirement. This could be seen by some as unreasonable - if the person is not totally or almost totally blind, they can probably drive safely so long as nothing unusual happens that requires a quick detection and response. But unusual things do happen, and so it it is generally accepted that people with certain visual impairments must be deprived of this freedom. So must people who have dangerously slow reaction times: this often means that elderly people must eventually give up driving, and some of their independence.

I don't think anyone wishes to require vaccinations for every job. But if people who are caring for or treating very medically vulnerable people don't get vaccinated, they stand a high risk of causing serious illness or even death to their patients or clients.

I think you're confusing conspiracies with actual scientific things that plenty of reasonable people predicted might happen from the start.

Conspiracies are:

  1. The vaccine contains microchips/nanobots etc
  2. The virus was activated by 5G
  3. Virus deliberately engineered for social control

etc

etc

Still waiting for evidence on any of those.

But all this has been spoken about by the government openly from the early days. Maybe you should look up the actual conspiracies people were saying.

5G masts spreading Covid? Even in countries that don't have 5G? Sure. Or is this just another antivax post?

Antivaxxers who can't master basic plurals in thread titles...
