Bored of Boris-bashing

I'm not a massive fan or anything, nor do I think the government have made all the right decisions during the pandemic. But I'm just getting bored of the fuckwit Boris letting the delta variant in, fucking moron, etc narrative. I'm too bored of this to waste energy being angry! Like, honestly, it would have got in anyway. All it takes is one case. And if they had "closed the fucking border" and refused to let ANYONE or ANYTHING in from India (which is impractical) it would be branded discriminatory, racist, etc. And meh, New Zealand managed it, whatever - smaller population than London in a larger group of islands than GB&NI. Cannot understand how anyone thinks it's comparable.

I'm just fed up of all the wrath and anger. Honestly, I think the government bashing is making them go freaky-cautious. So it's detrimental to businesses, wellbeing, etc. Yeah, I get this isn't how things work in an ideal world. But the world is not ideal! I just can't bring myself to be pissed off about it.

Always voted Labour, until Brexit

@WuhanClanAintNothingToFuckWith

Again look to the far east. We should have been testing extensively in the Far East

What would ‘looking’ have done? Don’t understand your point. There were no tests!

Germany had no tests either in January, they devised one, order a mass manufacturing capability, now have a death rate around half of the UKs.

Backed up by excess deaths data gathered over the last year - feb to feb.

UK and USA both around 20% increase, 1 and 2 in the world.

Trump had no policy for Cv, denied it, yet Johnson couldn't even do a better job than his then best friend.

WuhanClanAintNothingToFuckWith · 13/06/2021 20:53

He and his cronies causedthe death of thousands of care home residents with his policy of discharging covid positive patients into care homes to free up NHS capacity.

Not the whole story. Inaccurate. More misinformation. Vital facts missing. Wrong.

WuhanClanAintNothingToFuckWith · 13/06/2021 20:53

Thanks for trying to answer though!

PracticingPerson · 13/06/2021 20:54

@LaurieFairyCake

Really ? Hmm

That's like being bored of Blair being accused of being a war criminal ...

The government's actions have literally cost tens of thousands of EXTRA deaths by not locking down quickly enough - TWICE

I'm
Not
Bored
Yet 🤷‍♀️

hear hear

The idea that we should just 'get bored' of the absolute corruption and carelessness that has led to people dying just doesn't compute with me. I'm a voter and taxpayer and I deserve a decent, functioning government of whatever political persuasion.

Miaowmi · 13/06/2021 20:55

Alas, there was no decent functioning government on offer at the last General Election! Confused

I have to agree. I'm not a fan, but jeez I'd like to see some of the people on here doing any better. It's an impossible situation, he's damned if he does and damned if he doesn't.
Pretty sure given the same access to experts and resources as him I couid have done much better
AnneElliott · 13/06/2021 21:00

I do agree with you op - but not many on MN will. Look how many sort of agree with you but have to counter that with saying 'I've never voted Tory' just in case they get jumped on.

I've worked in the civil service for over 20 years - started under a Labour Government and worked for both the Coalition and Conservative Government. And there's not that much difference between the politicians. They are much more similar to each other than they are to the working classes (of which I am one).

and I hate the leaking of everything Ministers say. They have to be able to vent without people running to the press. Goodness if I put on here the things my junior minister says it would induce horror.

WuhanClanAintNothingToFuckWith · 13/06/2021 21:01

@jasjas1973

What kind of test was that that picked up asymptomatic cases and cases in between infection/incubation? Because we didn’t even understand that then. I fact China and the WHO were filling us with a load of bollocks then.

Haven’t you thought that maybe Germany’s hospitals operate differently? They don’t have such delayed discharge periods for well patients and delayed/shortage of social workers/social care checks?

Different country, different set-up. We were always going to be vulnerable to the inevitable care home fiasco with covid.

Unless someone had told us the fucking truth about the virus!

traumatisednoodle · 13/06/2021 21:03

Just looked back through my Whatssapp on the 30th of March 2020 I have written all the evidence points to asymptomatic spread.

Absolutely this, it's been an area they have actually acknowledged "as a government" they could have "managed better".
He discharged them back into some of the most vulnerable in our society where the staff were ill equipped with the correct PPE.

That is not my fault and is not an excuse for lying down and putting up with the current shower of shite. But the past is the past and I am talking about now. The only people who constantly refer to the last election are Tories. Corbyn is currently suspended from Labour so it is time to move on.

We all deserve a decent, functioning government. Maybe you don't think Britain deserves better but I love this country and hate what is happening to us politically.

IMO if Starmer took over tomorrow we would see a big improvement pretty quickly - he doesn't lie constantly for starters, he operates within normal ethical standards. Johnson is an absolute disgrace, both personally and politically. I'm not lowering my standards to accept it.

WuhanClanAintNothingToFuckWith · 13/06/2021 21:04

And where/who manufactured Germany’s super invention (tests) so vastly and quickly then?

Labour should have stepped in with the tests!

WuhanClanAintNothingToFuckWith · 13/06/2021 21:06

The amount of replies using the word ‘cronies’ is enough to make me jump from a great height! 😴 Honestly.

Johnson is completely incompetent.

Hmm

The point is you are supposed to know people who can do waht you need, not resort to giving contracts to people who can;t deliver. Yet another failure, they don;t even know the right people.

traumatisednoodle · 13/06/2021 21:09

I understand that you don't understand the science. A PCR test will detect around 75% of all infections whether symptomatic or not. I don't know what you mean about inbetween infection/ incubation.

Let me explain
If day 0 is contact then day 2/3 is when you can be infectious although no symptoms yet a PCR would be positive. Symptoms apear if they are going to on average day 4 or 5. We knew this stuff in March 2020 a lot of this is from the case study in Munich from the end of January. As others have said the Germans were shit hot at test and trace.

Cornettoninja · 13/06/2021 21:10

It stands out to me that the list of grievances is so long that it’s almost impossible to defend the current cabinet (with BJ as it’s willing figurehead); explain away one issue and five more pop up that by their existence are damning. They have almost certainly done some things right but the list of what’s wrong is so long, and sadly likely to grow based on experience, that even elements that are up for debate aren’t enough in the face of such a wide reaching portfolio of utter chaos and bad choices. The scales are not balanced.

I also wonder where the idea that the angriest voices are labour supporters comes from? The tories have a majority because our political landscape is pretty desolate at the moment and devoid of much opposition. I’m not a labour supporter but I also don’t see an alternative to the tories from the current line up. I’m the definition of a swing voter and at the last local election my vote was against the tories so by default labour (since my choices were the main three or some ‘engerland furst’ outfit). It certainly wasn’t for anyone and plenty of people who share my views just didn’t bother. For the first time I truly understand why.

murbblurb · 13/06/2021 21:10

I'm not sure anyone else would have done better. Last selection was a choice between two racists, neither got my vote.but the Indian variant sending us backwards is 100% Johnson's fault, arrogant sod would not listen to advice. He is the one in charge and is to blame. And he lies.
