Let's not forget the big letters next to that data on hospitalizations that state.... confidence in this data is LOW.... sounds convincing

tobee · 03/06/2021 21:39

Can you link that please @Chatterbox1987 ?

WaitroseAldi · 03/06/2021 21:51

I booked my daughters 5th birthday party for the end of the month, il be absolutely gutted if we can’t do it :( she’s been asking for a birthday party for over a year as she couldn’t have one last year :(

PomRuns · 03/06/2021 22:17

It’s so tough @WaitroseAldi
She could still have her party though? We can do quite a bit at this level and unlikely we’ll go back to level 2?

CornishYarg · 03/06/2021 23:08

@Horst

Invite age dropping seems to of slowed down again now. I was expecting the 28-30’s to of opened up by now considering how fast it was dropping.
As I understand it, those aged 30-39 are all in the same vaccination cohort, whereas 28 and 29 year olds are in the next cohort (18-29). So in theory, they could have opened up to everyone aged 30-39 at the same time as they're all in the same position in the "queue". But then the system would crash due to sheer numbers; I believe that happened when they opened to the entire 45-49 group at the same time. So they have to stagger the invites for admin reasons but can move through them quite quickly. Then iirc there's a pause while they work through the appointments booked by that cohort before moving on to the next cohort.

Chatterbox1987 · 04/06/2021 11:26

Sorry its blurry but I assure you it says confidence at the top and low next to the data on increased severity of disease

EasterIssland · 04/06/2021 11:29

get well soon @TruelyStruttingHotpants

EasterIssland · 04/06/2021 16:08

Hospitals and deaths are down tho not by much

954 people in hospital (this one is gone up)

Bordois · 04/06/2021 16:16

Still looking fairly good at the moment. Big jump in cases so the next week or so is going to be important in terms of how they translate to people in hospital (actual beds occupied, not just daily admissions)

I wish that the number of people discharged each day were reported alongside admissions- would help put things into context a bit more

TheChineseChicken · 04/06/2021 17:42

Tim Spector’s video this week is somewhat reassuring so I recommend watching

lazymum99 · 04/06/2021 17:47

@TheChineseChicken Could you link to it please. I have unfortunately just gone on a thread that NannyandJohn is ranting on. I know I should have got off quickly but I now need to watch a reassuring video

TheChineseChicken · 04/06/2021 17:56

Oh bloody hell, you definitely need some help! m.youtube.com/watch?v=3WFckBrljsk&mc_cid=d6e53d1b55&mc_eid=baaceef155

Just listen to his lovely calm voice

NannyandJohn sounds awfully similar to another regular poster.

That's my impression at any rate. Or maybe I'm being nuts?

HairyFloppins · 04/06/2021 18:00

There are a few posters I think are the same person.

PomRuns · 04/06/2021 18:50

Not nuts at all.

I read I think on bbc website that people are being discharged quickly - not as unwell as 1st/2nd wave.

PomRuns · 04/06/2021 18:51

I meant you are not being nuts @IcedPurple

😂

IcedPurple · 04/06/2021 19:08

@PomRuns

😂

I think someone else might be nut (nuts) though. If you catch my drift.
Oldtimer2020 · 04/06/2021 19:36

Oooh that Tim Spector video is marvellous. Thank you! Just what I needed as I sit here feeling a bit tired after my second jab (woohoo!)

PomRuns · 04/06/2021 19:36

Oh I do and agree.

TeaInTheGarden · 04/06/2021 22:52

Thought I would share this here. Showing clearly how hospital admissions are currently under even the best case scenarios predicted when the road map was drawn up.
So even with recent rises, for the moment at least we are still doing okay.
