Hi, I am having the Moderna jab in the morning... and just wondering if any of you have had it already and what side effects you might have had after it? Not sure what to expect, is it a bit fluey like the AZ one?

I had my second Moderna last Thursday and felt really sweaty and thirsty for a couple of days. Also had a few palpitations and lingering headaches.

Had Moderna 1 last Friday lunchtime

That evening had a weird half hour period of shivering. Arm went very sore.

Saturday and to some extent Sunday was very tired. Didn’t manage much on Saturday. Also had very low appetite all weekend.
By Monday felt pretty much normal as did my arm (my arm only hurt if I actually leant on it).

I just had a very sore arm after the first, had that too with the second but I also had some chills/shivering and flu like feelings about 12 hours after the second. It didn't last long thankfully and I was fine apart from the sore arm the next day!

I had palpitations after my second jab too. They started in the middle of the night which was horrible. Lasted a few hours along with some sweats and chills and then I was ok in the morning. Had a slightly reduced appetite for a few days (not a bad thing!)

Weirdly the arm was less sore 2nd time around. All back to normal after a couple of days.

I had my 2nd moderna yesterday at 9.30. With the 1st one I had a sore arm for 3/4 days and headache/fatigue for around the same time. Developed a rash about 5 days after which turned into lots of small blisters. This time (24 hours after) my arm is hurting the same as last time (washing up yesterday and I was struggling to lift a plate onto the drainer) and hardly slept all night, with arm pain, nausea, temp and chills. Felt absolutely awful this morning so took tablets and went back to bed for an hour, and on waking just feel really hot and although I'm just lying in bed my heart is pumping really fast. Going to have a cool bath before I have to go to work see if that helps.

I had my second dose of Moderna yesterday morning and feel achey and shaky today and very tired. My arm is also pretty sore. With my first dose, I just had a sore arm for a day or so. I've taken paracetamol which has helped though.

Had my first dose of moderna yesterday morning. Arm is very sore today and my neck feels quite stiff but thats really about it so far, fingers crossed for no fluey-ness.

I could've written the same post. Had my second dose yesterday lunchtime. Feeling v hot today, slightly raised body temperature of 37.0, extremely tired and heart pounding on any activity. I hope it is 24-48 hours ! I've had covid before and it feels like that all over again.

I'm absolutely fine today, except from a small rash on my arm. Was still a bit out of it (tired) last night, but not in pain.

I'm still in bed with raised body temperature and extreme fatigue.

Had my second dose yesterday at 9.45. By noon my arm was starting to get extremely painful again as with the first dose. Apart from that felt okay until 7pm when I started getting shivers and terrible headache with 37.4 temperature. Went to bed after taking ibuprofen and woke up this morning shakes gone fever gone, lingering headache and the awful sore arm. Hopefully it will all fade away before bedtime!

9 days post 2nd jab (yesterday) my forearms have both come out in a viral type rash. Itchy! No idea if it's linked but thought I'd add it. Taken antihistamines to see it it soothes it.

Thought I would update as I’m 48 hours past second dose.

I had pretty awful side affects from dose 1. Strange prickly feelings like little electric shocks all over, horrendous headaches for 3 weeks, aches and pains and diarrhoea for 4 days. I was dreading dose 2. However I seem to have got away with just a sore arm for 12 hours. Feel absolutely fine.

DH was fine after 1st dose but spent all day yesterday in bed after 2nd with a fever and fatigue. He is absolutely fine today.

Very sore arm. Couldn't push a door open for 3 days after 1st one.

2nd one very ill with flu symptoms for several hours. It woke me up at 2am after having the jab at 4:30pm

First dose, didn't feel it go in, no side effects at all second dose I felt her put the needle in and then it felt like she pushed it even deeper!! Def. Had arm ache for 3 days! So I think that is down to who gives it to you and the technique... But again, no side effects... Possibly felt warm but it was a heatwave and I was already battling off a cold... So basically I felt normal after both jabs

Had second dose on the 16th so nine days ago. 10 weeks after 1st.

Nurse was asking everyone in for 2nd dose about side effects after 1st dose.
I had Had a pretty rough ride with side effects and She said I was the first person to report what she considered “bad” side effects. Everyone else had said none to minor.

Was dreading 2nd dose, but this time round didn’t feel it go it in, (1st bloody hurt). Arm only slightly achy to start with which over the next week felt like I’d been punched and was badly bruised rather than the fecking useless agonising dead arm after first!!!

Woke up the following morning with a mild temperature headache and felt wobbly. Eased off enough to go get some shopping in the afternoon. But about 6 o clock started to feel crap again. 7 o clock temperature and chills set in properly.
Went bed early. Didn’t sleep a wink. My whole body felt like It was on fire and my skin was actually sore to touch. After tossing and turning all night, at 7am just like that, the temperature stopped dead and skin was no longer sore to touch.
I felt right as rain (even after having no sleep!) it was weird.

The only thing that is ongoing is joint and muscle pain in both, arms and legs (achy burning pain) which started after the first jab.

I also suspect I have had COVID back in March 2020, (couldn’t get tested then) so am wondering if this was a contributing factor to side effects.

Had my second dose at 11am.

Arm sore. Started to feel feverish and achy an hour or so ago, checked temp - 37.8.

Nurse said fewer symptoms reported after second jab, so hopefully I won't be as unwell as after the first one.
