Hi, I am having the Moderna jab in the morning... and just wondering if any of you have had it already and what side effects you might have had after it? Not sure what to expect, is it a bit fluey like the AZ one?
@Sloelydoesit my DM reported the same!
Ha ha! Glad it's not just me.
Ok, it's been quite funny. Maybe just for me. Not for the rest of my household. They think I'm making excuses.
I have been fartastic.
Quite enjoyed it Grin

24 hours in for me and a sore arm and low-level nausea so far. I think I read second dose may produce worse side effects for Moderna? Not sure if anyone will have had a second yet though but hopefully they can update here when they do.

RunAwayNow · 28/04/2021 18:41

24 hours after moderna, I'm struggling to believe I even had it. Arm not remotely sore, no other symptoms.

I felt like that 24 hours after mine. 30 hours after was a different story :-)

I've felt great after my first Moderna dose. Other than a slightly numb arm where the injection went in for a day or two, similar to other routine injections - zilch else symptom wise so far. Fingers crossed for the second dose!

Hope you're fine! It was odd though. DH was in bed throughout the day after his, while I was getting on with work, generally feeling fine. Then suddenly I realised I had a fever and sore ears and just wanted to sleep. Then a few hours later, fine again.
3WildOnes · 29/04/2021 09:10

I had a sore arm for about 48 hours. No other symptoms.

ihearttc · 01/05/2021 07:58

My DH had the Moderna one yesterday. His arm is really sore but apart from that he feels fine.

I had the AZ a month ago and felt like death the day after!

JimBobNoJob · 02/05/2021 14:01

I had Moderna Friday afternoon. Arm shoulder and neck was mildly sore in the hours afterwards. Felt a bit stuffy headed on Friday night. Yesterday felt stuffy headed for a short while but disappeared about an hour later. Arm still achy yesterday but nothing too bad.
Thought I’d escaped from any side effects.
But no such luck!
8pm last night arm started to get really sore, with chills and stuffy head came back.

Sometime after midnight woke with a raging thirst and a temperature. The pain in my arm was unbearable. Couldnt move it couldn’t turn over. I had to give it its own cushion!

Was restless until 4 am so got up for paracetamol felt like death warmed up. aching all over, headache and spaced out. Managed to go back to sleep for a few hours...still feel shite but pain in arm is easing a little now. Will keep taking paracetamol today and hopefully will feel better tomorrow!

MummaPI · 02/05/2021 15:09

Day 12 and I have a lymph node up on my collarbone. Anyone else had anything like this?

Sloelydoesit · 03/05/2021 22:44

Moderna last Monday. One week ago. Period has come early!
I am very regular! I would say it's come 6 days early

LoopyPoopy · 03/05/2021 22:55

Moderna one week ago today. Painful arm after first dose which went after 48 hours. It has strangely now returned like I’ve just had the jab again...pain has lasted all day. Hoping to wake up back to normal tomorrow.

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 03/05/2021 23:21

@MummaPI I had a swollen, sore underarm pop up a week later - the nurse said a swollen gland on the injection side was a common side effect, but I expected it to be sooner. That was on Saturday and it is pretty much normal now.

This is interesting, I had covid last autumn and it completely messed up my cycle. I went from a pretty predictable 28 day cycle (give or take a day or so either way) and a light, pain-free 5-6 day period, to a 21 day cycle with periods lasting 10 days! They would get heavier towards the end of the 10 days, and I would get nasty cramps around day 7.

All went back to completely normal after 3 of these longer cycles, until I had my Moderna jab 2 weeks ago. Am currently on day 10 of my latest period, with exactly the same cramping around day 7.

No other side effects apart from a sore arm and a bit of nausea, so I guess my body is responding to the vaxx in the same way it responded to covid, and at least I know what to expect!

A friend had the Moderna vaccine in Stevenage last week and I saw others on here that have said the same.

That's interesting, that's what worried me, that it came up 11 days later and I expected it to be sooner. I have a GP appointment to check.

OohKittens · 14/05/2021 18:42

I had the moderna today in Pembrokeshire (I'm 36). No side effects yet.

user34254356 · 14/05/2021 19:04

Moderna 2 days ago, extreme fatigue for one day, headache yesterday and today again. .Sore arm gone. However i've had covid before so it would line up with the expectation that you get worse symptoms if you have had covid before.

nordica · 14/05/2021 19:07

I had Moderna yesterday morning. Felt quite tired in the evening and had an early night. Woke up with sore muscles all over and had a paracetamol and a glass of water at 1am - felt lots better this morning. Still a bit sore, a bit like I had done a rigorous workout or something. The arm is now becoming more painful but nothing awful.

Compared to all my friends who were ill for days with all kinds of symptoms after AZ I feel amazing!

nordica · 14/05/2021 19:10

Also saw upthread someone mentioned being thirsty - wasn't sure if that was a side-effect but I've been thirstier than usual today too. The nurse who did the pre-jab checks actually recommended drinking lots of water, she specifically said "more than you think you should".

miafeta · 14/05/2021 20:10

I had my first dose on Wednesday and so far nothing except for slightly painful arm yesterday.

I was instantly thirsty after my vaxx. I've always drank alot of water but I drank so much for three days after. The nurse who gave the vaxx did advise to drink lot's of fluids. My oh had the same when he had Moderna.
OohKittens · 16/05/2021 13:20

I've been so unwell since Saturday morning. I'm sweating, the pain from my arm is now in my opposite leg and I've hardly slept. My husband has had an upset stomach but I'm not sure if it's down to a dodgy looking bottle of home brew someone gave him Confused

IndigoC · 16/05/2021 14:55

I had mine last Monday. Sore arm and a bit fuzzy headed the morning after, that’s it.
