Two days ago, this event took place, re Scaling Up Digital ID.

www.weforum.org/events/global-technology-governance-summit-2021/sessions/scaling-up-digital-identity-systems

A written summary here

sociable.co/government-and-policy/vaccine-passports-drive-forced-consent-standardization-digital-identity-schemes-wef-summit/

It refers to vaccine passports in many ways.

Some posters seem to think it's about showing your vax status. It isn't. These tech developments are happening in front of us. No secrecy, no conspiracy. If you are happy with it, great.

Quotes include:

“I’m hoping with the desire and global demand for some sort of vaccine passport — so that people can get traveling and working again — will drive forced consent, standardization, and frankly, cooperation across the world” — Sandra Ro, CEO at Global Blockchain Business Council

“Our goal is to enable all life situations with this digital ID” — Mykhailo Fedorov, Ukraine’s Minister of Digital Transformation

He hopes to achieve this in 3 years.
**@lightand* @RhubarbTea* also a Christian doing a lot of praying, though not sure I agree with the majority view on this thread and certainly don't think we are any more likely to be in the 'end times' than we are at any time.

From other Christians I have spoken to, there is a cohort of Christians who have been posting things online about reported prophetic words that God says do not take the vaccine and other stuff. I haven't come across these things and always take any prophetic words with a pinch of salt - we should always test the spirits. So I think they are out there, and the Christians who have told me about it have all been black and of African heritage but whether that has any link, I don't know.
Nice to "meet" you both.

I am not convinced we are in the end times yet either.
Though I do think it is now much easier to see how a few of the things described in Revelation could play out.

I personally havent seen any of the prophetic words online. I would be interested to take a look? I am only on one other sm platform.
I agree, we should always test the spirits.

I did read this week somewhere though, that it is[I think it was white but I could be wrong] evangelicals who are the least reluctant group to take the vaccine. Only 45% are taking it. I will see sometime, if I can refind the article.

@AcornAutumn

Might be an idea to put religious questions on a separate thread...it would be sad if this got pulled.
Yes, you are right.
Ephe17 · 10/04/2021 17:26

Yes, you are right.

I'm a Christian too.
I think Christian interpretations of what we are going through might be best discussed elsewhere. Maybe the religious forum.

RhubarbTea · 10/04/2021 17:28

I'm happy to have a separate thread for Christian stuff, I know it can get on people's tits otherwise Grin and I'd also hate for the thread to be pulled.

Terracotta9 · 10/04/2021 17:57

@btwwhichonespink
Over the year I have noticed a gradual shift, more and more voices saying 'what on earth is going on?' So I started joining in as it became possible to actually discuss it.

I’m grateful that mumsnet has allowed us to question and discuss these issues. As such an influential site I know it must be difficult to navigate controversial topics like this. It’s a real credit to mumsnet that we are allowed free discussion here, and I don’t know any other mainstream forum where this conversation could happen.

bathsh3ba · 10/04/2021 18:18

I think it's kind of sad if questions of faith always have to be kept in their own little pen. But happy to move it to another thread, though not sure why it would lead to this one being pulled. In answer to your question, @lightand, I don't have any links, I've just been told they are there, and they were an evangelical denomination.

bathsh3ba · 10/04/2021 18:21

@btwwhichonespink I don't know the answer to that, sorry. There probably are groups talking about it, but not in my church/circle: those I know are very much seeing God as providing a solution in the form of vaccines/treatments etc, i.e. guiding the scientists. But there will be other views.

btwwhichonespink · 10/04/2021 18:38

There are no issues as such, not a religious question for another thread. Just a philosophical thought that had occurred to me recently when I saw people discussing Christianity. Certainly not something I am exploring or trying to bring into the whole conversation.

AcornAutumn · 10/04/2021 19:11

Terracotta "It’s a real credit to mumsnet that we are allowed free discussion here, and I don’t know any other mainstream forum where this conversation could happen."

There's the Lockdown Sceptics forum but it didn't suit me.

Re religion, I just want to keep the thread focused on data and tech. I'm not anti religious. I just feel it will get the thread labelled and directed in a very different direction.

The link I posted is focused on blockchain. My understanding is that blockchain is being sold as convenient when in reality, I think you need to be very involved with the subject to understand what is happening with your data.

More to the point, as per audience questions, there is a trust issue and AFAIC there always should be. When the vast majority are clicking buttons without knowing what it means, we've got trouble.

I think it's fair to say the majority don't understand digital currency either. I make a point of using cash now.

It’s good that this thread is still going at Page 5 and it’s been mainly useful and interesting debate.

Not long ago a subject like this would have been targeted by the hardcore lockdowners who’d Called people every name possible, have spammed the report button, thread deleted and posted banned.

FreyaFolkvangr · 10/04/2021 22:08

You are risking scaring people with severe anxiety/mental health issues posting these things. There are some really vulnerable people reading these threads. I am all for letting discussions stand generally but this thread is incredibly irresponsible. If you think the concept of 'end times' as talked about in the Bible is a real thing, you need to give your head a wobble. It's absolute nonsense and on the same level as David Icke thinking the Royal Family are lizards. Honestly, shame on you.

AcornAutumn · 10/04/2021 22:41

"this thread is incredibly irresponsible."

I was drawing attention to an event about digitalisation and data, that was open online for anyone to attend.

It is NOT about anything else. Hence I clearly asked for other discussion to go elsewhere.

People do need to know about data and digital currency. Everyone is free to ignore that if they want but many will already have investments in digital currency. It's a topic that interweaves with Covid 19 policy on many levels.

I'm glad to see this thread.

I posted last year with concerns about the Wef and the great reset and was mocked and called a conspiracy theorist.

@JamieFrasersAuntie

I'm glad to see this thread.

I posted last year with concerns about the Wef and the great reset and was mocked and called a conspiracy theorist.

I told a friend about the Great Reset as it was the front cover of TIME magazine last year. This was via text. She told me it was a CT. I then texted a pic of the TIME cover.

We haven't been in touch but again, it confuses me. I thought WEF was as well known as the UN.

@freyafolkvangr I think that's precisely why OP asked for religious chat to be taken somewhere else.

Wildswim · 10/04/2021 23:41

I have felt very uneasy about the reaction to Covid for a long time now.

Today I listened to this podcast with Dr Mike Yeadon - a scientist, former vice president of Pfizer, and expert on respiratory illnesses. It is a sober and terrifying listen and I highly recommend it. He is very much an authoritative voice. castbox.fm/va/1989186

Littlefiendsusan · 10/04/2021 23:49

@Wildswim I listened to that today too. Alarming.

Dellingpole's interview with The Market Sniper is also worth a listen.

Littlefiendsusan · 10/04/2021 23:53

@FreyaFolkvangr
I feel this tread gives me valuableI information. I cannot read the 'conventional' narrative on the other CV threads anymore as it all seems so meaningless now.

Just hide this thread if it upsets you.

Wildswim · 10/04/2021 23:54

@Littlefiendsusan I was going to book my vaccine next week. I'm eligible.

But I've had Covid. And according to the other podcast with Dr Mike Yeadon, I'm likely to be immune for years if not decades, if it's like other coronaviruses (and there is no reason to believe it's not). The narrative from the government has led me to believe that I can get Covid twice within a period of months. But that assertion is just not supported by science.

Sparrowcrane · 11/04/2021 00:22

Thank you for this post. I'm following the wef intensely , the stuff discussed and proposed on there is just unbelievable and I would not be as worried were it not blatantly obvious that the agendas are followed and supported by governments across the globe. Everything is done in the open and at a very fast pace whilst people are being lulled into complacency

LittleRed53 · 11/04/2021 01:15

Thank you for the link, @Wildswim I'll definitely be listening to that!

Sparrowcrane · 11/04/2021 08:24

Have you seen this letter to D Trump from Archbishop of Ulpiana? stpeterschulte.com/news/bulletin/2390-letter-carlo-maria-vigano/file

Heysiriyouknob · 11/04/2021 08:28

Thank you @AcornAutumn

I've just reregistered to post.

I deregistered as I mentioned the WEF last year and was called all sorts of things. I was called a nutter and posters told me they felt sorry for my children.

I occasionally look during nightfeeds and saw your post.

I'm so glad that so many people are seeing what is happening.

I've been called a covid denier because I don't think covid came out of nowhere. Doesn't mean I only think it's real. It is and many people have horribly and needlessly died.

But I've been reading for years. Ten years ago people on forums were talking about an upcoming pandemic that would bring in a new system. Forced vaccines. New digital currency. All called crazy conspiracy theorists.

Well, now look.

But hey, you can get your hair cut and go to primark so accept whatever.

lightand · 11/04/2021 08:34

Whoa. I hadnt been able to figure out where protests came into things. Now it makes sense.

Plumedenom · 11/04/2021 09:13

My biggest concern is not the digital passport - living in Italy I am already very used to the concept of an identity card - but facial recognition and geolocation.
