I can’t get out of bed

I feel like my life is over. I literally couldn’t get out of bed this morning, the way I feel is just too bad.

I spent over a year worrying about Covid, not just worrying, obsessing.
Panic attacks, sleepless nights, I couldn’t focus on my family life, couldn’t concentrate because of the worry.

I was finally vaccinated and although initially I didn’t feel any better, within a few weeks i started to feel so much happier.

Then the shit news comes about the clots from the vaccine.

I feel absolutely numb. I’ve spent the last 24hours just crying. I wish I’d never had the vaccine now.
It’s been 4 weeks and I’m such a nervous wreck.

My husband has had to drop our son at my mother in laws today because I’m in no fit state to look after him.

I’ve called my GP and have been told to increase my Sertraline to 100mg.

I absolutely hate living with this fear.

I knew this vaccine was too good to be true 😩

Well done. You’ve done more than me now, I still haven’t been out to lunch or in a shop that wasn’t for food. So pleased you’ve had a good week and are getting support.

Oblomov21 · 16/04/2021 07:01

I don't like threads like this being posted in the Corona section. It gives Corona a bad name and just tries to normalise chronic anxiety, when that's not helpful.
It should be in MH, in the severe anxiety section. Op problems are so severe, she needs professional help and GP support. This has little to do with covid, and is just damaging to the good covid cause that most normal people are trying to support.

GoToSleepBabyPlease · 16/04/2021 07:07

I feel like Corona already had a pretty bad street rep @oblomov21...

UnderHisAye · 16/04/2021 08:57

That is one weird take @Oblomov21

On the other hand, posting on the thread of someone in severe distress to say they're giving Covid a bad name is...interesting.

FreyaFolkvangr · 16/04/2021 09:46

The biggest well done from me OP. And thank you for updating us. I'm glad your GP is stepping up. I hope this is the start of things getting much better.

And the whole 'long recovery' thing. Meh, brains can be changed actually pretty speedily. Which is not to downplay how very bad you've been feeling but there are lots of reasons to have hope that even in a few weeks things will be much easier still.

FreyaFolkvangr · 16/04/2021 09:48

just damaging to the good covid cause that most normal people are trying to support.

Err...! Ok then. People with anxiety are normal people, by the way. All sorts of people experience severe anxiety for all sorts of reasons. There is no 'good covid cause.' And actually I think the OP will have helped lurkers who are also struggling badly because they might feel less alone now and might also reach out for help.

This is just odd. The "good Covid cause"?! ConfusedConfused. Very odd.

Oh this is great news well done OP. You can really see the difference in you from the way you are writing. Well done for taking these steps and good luck! I hope to not see you on the Covid board again ... but maybe the mental health board if you need support!

VoyageInTheDark · 16/04/2021 11:10

So glad to read your update OP. Well done! I hope things continue to improve for you Smile

OpheliasCrayon · 16/04/2021 11:37

I have zero anxiety whatsoever but I wouldn't say I am supporting the good covid cause @Oblomov21
Im not worried about it but there are not many good points to a disease that's caused a pandemic .... If you do find anyone other than yourself who is pro covid id be really surprised

time4anothername · 16/04/2021 12:24

thank you for the update OP. Great to hear that there are services out there for you and that you will be able to access it.

Mittens030869 · 16/04/2021 16:34

I’m really pleased you’ve accessed the support that you need, OP. I hope you continue to improve. Flowers

As someone suffering from Long Covid, I couldn’t agree more. A very weird attitude there. Confused

dappledsunshine · 17/04/2021 07:43

Thanks for updating op I've been wondering how you are. I'm so pleased to read your update, you've already come so far and I'm sure you'll continue with the support you're getting Thanks

Haenow · 17/04/2021 09:48

@fireflylanegirls I’ve been reading your threads. I think you are amazing. You’ve taken a really hard step and been incredibly brave. It’s easy to hide away but you’ve faced it head on. Be kind to yourself, you’ll have good days and bad days but I have every confidence that you can get through every day. I wish you luck and hope you know a random stranger online is proud of you but more importantly, you should be proud of yourself! Flowers

What was the point of this spiteful post? Hmm OP knows she has mental health needs, she took the advice given and updated that she’s had professional help.

If you’re so bothered by this being on the corona board, report the thread and MNHQ can move it, if they see it is appropriate.

PurpleSunrise · 17/04/2021 20:22

So good to read your update OP, you’ve been so brave

LIZS · 24/04/2021 14:13

Hope things are still going ok.

Hoggleludo · 24/04/2021 14:19

I’ve had over 10 clots. Most in major organs. Brain. Lungs etc

I had the vaccine. So essentially my haematologist. Who I trust implicitly said the only people at real risk would be people in hepirin. (Clexane in the uk).

It seems all except one lot of clots were people on blood thinners. Strangely. He said even with my risk. Which is extremely high. I’m not even allowed on a short flight or car ride without certain measures because my risk is so high. He said he wouldn’t worry.

I had the vaccine. If you get a clot. It’s within 4 days usually too.

Hope this helps. My hematologist was also one on the panel for the clots and safety.

HolmeH · 24/04/2021 22:38

Is that really true @Hoggleludo - most people getting these clots were on blood thinners? As that makes the risk entirely different doesn’t it? As most of us under 30’s aren’t going to be & it’s quite specific to a certain group of people.. surely this would have been explained alongside the safety stuff?! To stop people freaking out?
