I can’t get out of bed

I feel like my life is over. I literally couldn’t get out of bed this morning, the way I feel is just too bad.

I spent over a year worrying about Covid, not just worrying, obsessing.
Panic attacks, sleepless nights, I couldn’t focus on my family life, couldn’t concentrate because of the worry.

I was finally vaccinated and although initially I didn’t feel any better, within a few weeks i started to feel so much happier.

Then the shit news comes about the clots from the vaccine.

I feel absolutely numb. I’ve spent the last 24hours just crying. I wish I’d never had the vaccine now.
It’s been 4 weeks and I’m such a nervous wreck.

My husband has had to drop our son at my mother in laws today because I’m in no fit state to look after him.

I’ve called my GP and have been told to increase my Sertraline to 100mg.

I absolutely hate living with this fear.

I knew this vaccine was too good to be true 😩

IME the threshold to be sectioned is very high, sadly, MH services are beyond breaking point. It was very difficult to get my brother sectioned and he was delusional, incoherent and hadn't eaten or slept for days. That's not to say the OP doesn't need urgent help, she clearly does, I just don't know how she will get it Sad

RedcurrantPuff · 09/04/2021 16:01

You’re not going to get one of the clots now. Hope your sertraline helps x

I know.

I was thinking more that if they can't detain her, she might at least get access to more help?

fireflylanegirls · 09/04/2021 16:10

@AcornAutumn

I don’t need to be detained.. 🙄

OP people are trying to help.

You’ve had some amazing advice on this thread, I’m someone who suffers from severe health anxiety and it’s helped a lot, I just want to say thanks to those who have posted with useful ideas and kind words Flowers

Itsalonghaul · 09/04/2021 16:13

You have answered your own question op:

'headache up to four weeks'

well you are past four weeks now.

What do you need? I thought that going into a unit would get you intensive support and counselling.

4weeks today so the intense anxiety is going to vanish in a puff of smoke at midnight? As if.

You're in denial about how unwell you are, op.

therearenogoodusernamesleft · 09/04/2021 16:20

OP. I appreciate that you have spoken to your doctor and have made some steps of progress.

But.

Right now, you are either physically unwell, or mentally unwell. And rather than take action, you are crying in bed, working yourself up, and not spending time with your family.

So.

If you truly believe you are physically well, and have developed a blood clot, you need to go to hospital. It's not good enough to say your husband doesn't think you do. If you truly believe you do, go and get it sorted.

And if you're not willing to go to hospital, then you need to consider this is a mental health issue. Which you already do recognise, as you are having therapy and take sertraline.

Because what you are doing right now, whilst hardly 'enjoying it' as another PP suggested, is wallowing in it. Indulging yourself in this fear and anxiety.

So which ever one it is, go and sort it out. And I agree with everyone else - we're just indulging your strange comfort that you gain from posting about this.

I'm sorry to be so brutal but you need help. And show this thread to your husband.

No! I’m just saying that the headache I have started within the 4 weeks!

You know, if I did have a blood clot I hope a lot of you would apologise for not believing me!

OP posts:
Gwenhwyfar · 09/04/2021 16:23

@AcornAutumn

PS do you know what your blood pressure is? Have you been prescribed tranquilisers or beta blockers?
I was also wondering why no tranquilisers as a temporary solution before the increase in ADs kick in. They work straight away. I do also recognise that some doctors don't like to prescribe them, particularly to chronically anxious people, because they can be addictive.

Oh this has just gotten too far OP. You need to get off social media for your own good.
CirqueDeMorgue · 09/04/2021 16:25

Bloody hell, the media has done a real number on you.

AcornAutumn · 09/04/2021 16:26

Gwen, yes but this is an extreme case. Tbh I have them prescribed fairly often but that was a battle. I have low blood pressure so can't take beta blockers.

I would suggest a tot of brandy but I think OP is past that.

CloudFormations · 09/04/2021 16:27

The vaccine is not too good to be true - this is your health anxiety causing a panic response. I’m so sorry you’re experiencing this, it must be very distressing.

Hopefully the increased sertraline and cbt will help you get back on an even keel soon Flowers

Yes, a media and social media blackout, even for a day, would help.
CirqueDeMorgue · 09/04/2021 16:29

@AcornAutumn I couldn't agree more!

I'm very pro tranquiliser, but I'm just wondering why the dr hasn't already prescribed them as it seems so obvious, unless he's one of those who's against them.
AcornAutumn · 09/04/2021 16:32

Gwen many are against them now. A friend lost her husband last year and was refused them. It's a whole other thread/rant.

Boomchicka · 09/04/2021 16:33

Last time you were nitpicking about being a day short of 3 weeks post vaccine. You KNOW that once you get past the imaginary blood clot you'll be onto the next thing. If you have a blood clot I will personally send you flowers and apologise unreservedly. But you don't.

grenadines · 09/04/2021 16:35

OP - You know you are suffering from anxiety and are taking steps to treat it which is really good. Can't you see that your headache is most likely to be a symptom of the stress you are under as a result of the anxiety and that treating the anxiety will most probably result in the headache vanishing?
Don't you think that the chances of your headache being caused by stress are a million times higher than an after effect of the vaccine?
