All the relaxations planned for 12th April are going ahead so there’s no reason why the 21st June ones shouldn’t also.
That Daily Mail article is scaremongering and I feel for the people who have been upset by it.

@kittensarecute

I'm seriously considering suicide i can't do this anymore
No not me. I don't think I can do this anymore.
GiveMeNovocain · 05/04/2021 18:25

I'm in Wales so no end in sight

ineedaholidaynow · 05/04/2021 18:26

They did say when the roadmap was announced that some measures may have to come back in the winter months, possibly masks in public spaces. This is not new news

Sooverthis1 · 05/04/2021 18:28

I'm in Ireland and we have one of the strictest lockdowns in the world. There are no dates to open things, just constant reminders to not get complacent and to keep on staying at home etc. It's been like this since November....there was a slight opening at Christmas which lead to new variants taking over and we were back in lockdown a couple of days after Christmas day.. Our primary schools have been fully closed for just under 8 months in total over this pandemic, we and most of my friends kids schools had zero online teaching. My dcs had been back for just 2 weeks since Christmas before the break for Easter...half day...
There is no living with covid here, just what seems like an endless lockdown tbh... Funnily one of the first things they will reopen here is training for (very male dominated) gaelic sports and golfing....
At least in the UK you have hope, I honestly don't see it here at all.

Sooverthis1 · 05/04/2021 18:29

Oh wait I think we'll be allowed to go beyond 5km in a few weeks...

MarshaBradyo · 05/04/2021 18:29

Is this just SAGE articles?

Can’t bring myself to read them atm

Too much up then down doom stuff

OhhOkay · 05/04/2021 18:33

Mask wearing is not new news. It's been said for a while.

Why people are so against a mask is a bit silly. It's a mask. Get over it. Pre covid I was in a mask and visor 10hrs a day. So really don't understand why people are huffing and puffing about wearing one whilst in enclosed spaces!

Good for you. I hate it. Its brought me out in spots, my face is constantly itching and my mouth is always dry. Its horrible. As if they make much difference anyway Easter Hmm

I'm sick of people telling me that I should be OK with something that makes me uncomfortable.

Dowser · 05/04/2021 18:38

@Sooverthis1
I’m so sorry
That really isn’t living

I honestly wish I had some words of comfort to add.
I wish I believed in karma because believe me there isn’t an oven in hell hot enough for this shower

Quit4me · 05/04/2021 18:38

I really want to know when my 11 year old child won’t have to wear a mask for 8 hours a day.
It gives her a really bad headache and she finds it hard to concentrate.
We were told only a few weeks. Is this here to stay for years now then?

Same here Dowser
You have been a comfort to me since I joined, for what it's worth.

Order the red dress and white bonnet while you’re at it. You know where we are heading. One way ticket and freedom it ain’t.

Has this changed in schools?

I thought it wasn't compulsory?

It makes her ill, she should be exempt.

twelly · 05/04/2021 18:43

There is a difference between existing and living - social distancing, masks are not humans have lived. I believe in freedom - we have protected the old and vulnerable we will be living with covid like we live with the flu and colds. We need to start living - people are unhappy as they want to live , continuing with this continual embargo on life is not good for anyone.

ineedaholidaynow · 05/04/2021 18:44

Why do people seem to think this Government has introduced all these rules simply to control us, when other countries have similar restrictions like masks? Also you blame Boris, but Labour seem to have favoured stricter restrictions at times

I suppose your tin hat is probably more comfortable then a mask eh.

Because it makes me panic, affects my depth vision and makes my glasses slip off
OhhOkay · 05/04/2021 18:44

@Dowser ordered! Wink

Bunnybigears · 05/04/2021 18:46

@Quit4me so write a letter to school to tell them she is exempt and then she won't have to, there is no official way of being exempt basically if you say you are exempt you are exempt.

Bunnybigears · 05/04/2021 18:48

@GiveMeNovocain so don't wear one then and if questioned say you are exempt, honestly its not rocket science.

BonnieDundee · 05/04/2021 18:49

I'm just tired of it all. I want to live, not exist Easter Sad

Devlesko · 05/04/2021 18:50

I said this last March, started a thread on here, it was obvious that gov would use a pandemic to do all sorts of wrongs.
How we used to live is history, perhaps we can all find our own personal normal.
Personally, I've not missed anything except maybe theatre, and of course festivals as was part of my work.

rwalker · 05/04/2021 18:52

Moving goal post and u turns are to do with the situation changing . If infection rates rise or virus mutates it's common sense to change the plan thats not a u turn or moving the goal post .
