I 100 percent agree with the protection of ppl vulnerable to covid and the fact is our health system is very fragile and very, very badly run by the HSE.
People need hope though, even if they had some dates. Yes they have said things are likely to get better but there are no dates so nobody can plan anything. I also think it's too easy to blame people all the time so putting the responsibility back on the public, our government ministers are all on huge salaries in Ireland so it's on them in addition to the fact that it's a virus so very difficult to control and obvs it's entire purpose is to mutate so again not people's fault..
It feels relentless and now teacher's unions are talking about strike action (yes really) as they are prioritised for vaccines.

@AcornAutumn
Aww thank you.

I just say it as it is and how it’s been for me and my family.
Lots of people on here don’t like it..but as I’ve always said
I’ll stay out of your life and you stay out of mine.

Just got on with living, as much as we could all throughout and it’s served my mental health well and that of my family.
Saw an interesting video by dr Ryan cole of Idaho the other day.
Really it just underlined what we’ve done.

Ate good nutritious food.
Plenty of vitamin d. Sufficient Vit d in the body protects against the cytokines storm
Stayed at a reasonably good weight..Vit d goes into your tissues if obese rather than the circulatory system.
Got outside in the fresh air and sun as much as possible
People above and below the 35 parallel need to supplement every day they aren’t in the sun
If you get a chance of sunshine..30 mins a day without sunscreen to build up supplies

You have a 3 day window for remdesivir..which at $3000 a shot is very expensive Need to get it when you first experience symptoms , while the virus is replicating ..not listen to the advice of only go to hospital when your lips turn blue..that’s too late..you’ve missed your slot

Ivermectin is a better option. It’s cheap. $2_5 a shot, proven, one of the safest drugs known, and was given out widely in India which is almost back to normal . It’s discoverer won a Nobel prize
Why isn’t that used. It can be used prophylactically..the dr has been taking it for 2 months. It’s proven against other viruses like dengue fever and west Nile.
He’s treated lots of covid patients..and guess what..he’s been fine.

He’s not very enamoured with the jaxes either and explains why

Course that view won’t be popular on here.

Well nearly half the population has been jaxed ..and guess what
Things aren’t much better,

Half of being alive is about having choice.
I never expected ours to be so limited.

*are not

toocold54 · 05/04/2021 19:00

I actually think the complete opposite. In fact, the last few days have felt nearly there - just need hospitality and non-essential shops to re-open.

I agree. I’m looking forward to seeing people properly indoors and then I’ll be happy I don’t even care if we have to keep the masks, social distance still etc

MarshaBradyo · 05/04/2021 19:01

The road map is opening as planned has anything officially changed?

Or is it SAGE stuff

Is there a difference between government and SAGE?

here's the roadmap update from today

toocold54 · 05/04/2021 19:03

Needing a vaccine passport in the uk to attend festivals and sporting events is nowhere near normal

Neither was not smoking in pubs or restaurants but we got over it pretty quickly.

MarshaBradyo · 05/04/2021 19:05

Acorn sometimes

The firebreak stuff etc that didn’t happen last year

I haven’t kept track really but I know if I listened to SAGE first I’d be more depressed!

It’s always going to be more focussed on keeping cases as low as possible

When people say this, I am so confused

You don't know anyone working in hospitality inc weddings, cinema, theatre? You don't know who has lost their job? You find masked faces normal, especially walking home from work (the station) after dark?

AcornAutumn · 05/04/2021 19:07

*anyone who has lost their job, that should say

I'm wondering what will happen to those not taking the vaccine who work in Leisure and hospitality. I know top class musicians and entertainers who will refuse, yes they can book others but if it's compulsory I fear we will lose some big names.

Of course I do what’s that got to do with socially distancing and wearing masks?

Due to my job I have had to wear a mask all day for months so it’s second nature to me, I’m going to find it strange the day they tell me I don’t need to wear it and I am thankful that this is the first winter I haven’t picked up every cold going!

ineedaholidaynow · 05/04/2021 19:13

When the schools went back there was concern that the next stage in the roadmap might be delayed if cases rose too high. Although many schools have had bubbles burst we have got to the next stage on the suggested date. I am not sure why people are being so negative.

Yes lockdown is rubbish, but we are moving in the right direction. We need more people to be vaccinated to get to the required level for herd immunity. The Government need to take each step carefully to ensure cases and more importantly hospitalisations don't rise too high.

It is not looking too good in Chile. We don't want to go backwards.

AcornAutumn · 05/04/2021 19:14

toocold you said the last few days have felt nearly normal and I don't understand how anyone can perceive current conditions as normal.

It's okay, we clearly don't get each other, no worries.

What do you mean when you say social distancing? What is yout understanding of what it is?
Crumpledandcreased · 05/04/2021 19:17

I feel more positive than I gave in a long time. I'd rather see things opening up at a controlled pace to avoid sliding back into lockdown, but I'm anticipating there might be restrictions again by Dec/ Jan.

I'd be happy for masks in shops to stay. It's so much better than pre-covid when people had no respect for personal space.

Sorry to derail for a sec but I have a proper pavlovian response to your username - I instantly hear "my mother came to hazard when I was just seven"

there isn't even a millisecond gap between seeing your name and hearing it 😂

PilatesPeach · 05/04/2021 19:17

It is not just about masks, social distancing in hospitality & leisure venues massively affects how much money businesses can make and indeed if they can even break even. I don't believe that from 21st June social distancing in such places will end. Yes manly patrons of such places may not mind, but those working in the places would still be massively affected. Pubs having to only do table service means more staff and if less customers due to social distancing, it is very difficult for them.

I personally don’t care about big names as they probably have enough money to not need to work. I am pro-vaccination but for those who are genuinely scared to have it it doesn’t seem fair if they lose their jobs over it. But then there are plenty of jobs which require you to have certain vaccinations so you could argue if they have to have those then they should have this as well.
My reasons for thinking they are a good idea is the owners of business can decide to refuse entry or take the risk of having an outbreak and needing to close. Also if you are vulnerable you can choose to go somewhere that has strict rules rather than somewhere that doesn’t.

I can't believe how many posters don't twig this.

Not sure about the "manly" patrons though Wink
@GiveMeNovocain so don't wear one then and if questioned say you are exempt, honestly its not rocket science.
And get bullied by people like you? Thanks for the 'advice'.

HermioneWeasley · 05/04/2021 19:21

More people died in RTAs than of Covid this week.

What are we waiting for to get our lives back? It’s fucking negligent.

toocold54 · 05/04/2021 19:22

@AcornAutumn I said I find facemasks normal as I have had to wear them for so long now.

lockeddownandcrazy · 05/04/2021 19:23

Masks and a few queues are fine, if all else is normal.

Grin this makes me smile. Hopefully it's a vaguely welcome response, rather than an annoying earworm!
