I would like to say covid was our biggest problem, but it most definitely isn't now!

Sorry if this article has been shared.it has more detail about the rare blood clot events and info on the patients that it occurred in.like their age and when the symptoms started.

Some people suffer with the same blood clotting issues when they receive heparin treatment. In my last pregnancy I was prescribed daily heparin treatment. I now realise I had 1% chance of developing these same clotting issues that are linked to the AZ. I was never told these risks to me and my baby before I started my pregnancy heparin treatment.
Sometimes ignorance is bliss !

I am hoping now I know I can take heparin and not have a reaction, I wonder if it means my platelets won’t react to AZ in the same way either. Wish I could ask a doctor!

Catching up on this thread with my cup of coffee, things certainly seem to have taken a turn. I remembered this article (or similar) from a few months ago. Also goes into some detail about the difference between AZ/Sputnik/ other vaccines. AZ/Sputnik are very similar so, that being the case, would you likely see the same blood clotting issue that you see with AZ? (although being Russian would we even be told). Something definitely very very fishy going on here.

Also Italy supposed to be producing Sputnik in July I believe.

It certainly reads at the moment as if EU citizens are pawns in a bigger political game.

Now we can see why the EU commission are suddenly so hostile towards us.

Now we are out, if Germany are really determined to go down the Russian/China road, other countries for sure will be leaving too. The sentiment has been turning for some time in places like Poland anyway.

The EC deal with China is idiocy, same as their vaccine programme. I think we're still on cock-up rather than conspiracy. And I think Sputnik probably works just fine, but will be regarded as another cock-up when nobody agrees to have it.

For what it is worth this is what I think,

The Bundestag have taken one look at the EU's financial situation, which is worsening by the day and likely to get even worse with the third wave. They have realised with the UK us now long gone, and all the billions they contributed, and they had a very big shortfall even before covid.
The financial sink hole is opening ever wider due to the economic fall out that is still coming - because the vaccine programme failed and now they can see a very tasty meal ticket sitting there in the shape of China and Russia and have sold out.

The EU commission has sold its own soul to the Russian and Chinese alliance and we can expect much more evidence of this in the coming weeks. The vaccines will be just the start.

The EU commission may have very little choice, the money is running out and has been for some tim - Germany are on the hook for the shortfall, and this has ramifications for them due to their own problems with covid impact. Germany and the EU might argue this is a fight for survival now, and doing a deal with the devil is a price worth paying.

Hungary recorded 302 coronavirus deaths yesterday, the highest daily death toll since the start of the pandemic. There were 6,700 new Covid-19 cases across the country, the government said.

Hungary’s health care system has come under extreme stress, the government has said, despite a vaccination programme that has reached a fifth of the population already, one of the fastest inoculation drives in Europe.

Reuters reports that dozens of independent Hungarian news outlets have published an open letter today asking Viktor Orbán’s government to end restrictions on reporting on the health system during the pandemic. The government has said only state media are allowed into hospitals and vaccination centres, but has denied restricting reporting.

The news outlets said they were barred from speaking to medics. Calls are regularly referred to the health ministry. “Doctors and nurses are not free to talk to the public, while journalists are not allowed in hospitals, so we cannot assess what happens there,” read the letter published in 28 independent newspapers, websites and other outlets.

The journalists asked Orbán to let them work inside hospital premises and vaccination centres, allow health care workers to talk to reporters and replace limited daily briefings with real-time information.

“At a minimum, it has a moral message which we wanted to send,” said Tamas Onody-Gomperz, who writes for the magazine jelen.hu. “The government has operated censorship in the most important public matter for a year. It’s a scandal.”

There were more than 12,000 coronavirus patients in hospital on Tuesday, 1,492 of them on ventilator, the government said. The central European country of 10 million has recorded the highest daily per capita fatalities in the world for several days, according to Johns Hopkins University data.

My sons girlfriend is Hungarian she doesn’t know anyone who’s had the vaccine, not even her90 year old grandma, she said a lot of people are getting very sick
