Which areas are booking vaccines for over 40s?

Hi.
Am hearing that some over 40s are getting invited to book vaccines now.

If you have been invited, would you mind saying where you are please (don’t be precise if you don’t want to) and if you’ve been invited to book via local booking system that gives you appointments at the local centres, or via the national booking system to the mass centres/pharmacies.

My DH and I are late 40s and just so confused about what is going on. We were deflated by the news last week about the delays, but lots of people, still seem to be invited, it we can’t work out if it’s in our area and if locally led based on GP surgeries inviting or the national system letting some younger people book.

Hoping there are lots of you out there getting invited and it will be our turn soon too. Thanks.

Family in Worcester, someone (just) under 40 has had theirs already! Still over 50's strictly only here (Sussex).

MsFogi · 25/03/2021 17:24

On FB I have seen friends in their 40s who have been called up in Maidenhead (Berks) and Blackheath (SE London)

Just seen one in East Midlands post on facebook. It seems to be down to how fast each area is progressing which is part will depend on the demographics on the area.

Interesting thread, thanks.

They were on a queue up basis last weekend where I used to live because so many are refusing, it needed to be used up but they won't book you in

HairyFloppins · 25/03/2021 17:32

North Staffs. Age 49. Text from GP to book via the surgery link.

WombatChocolate · 25/03/2021 17:32

The only people I know round here (Surrey) under 40 who have been offered have been in group 6 with medical issues or carers or those working in social care/nhs. But having said that, some surgeries were saying they had offered it to all of group 1-9 about 10 days ago, so I’m not sure who they are now offering to if not the next age group.

Every area seems to say they have the right amounts for peoples 2nd jabs at the required time and these numbers are still pretty low, so. It sure who is getting jabbed around here.

Cumbria age 45 no health conditions had mine two weeks ago.

Ferrylooper · 25/03/2021 17:35

In Orkney over 40s we’re done last week as well as everyone over 34.

Spinningaround21 · 25/03/2021 17:42

My local area have been amazing and were ready and the government/nhs said not to go to the next cohort so have stalled at the over 50s.

Seems like other areas have been allowed?

WhereDidYouGetThatHat · 25/03/2021 17:44

49, got called this week by GP in Essex. They had spares to use up!

Not me but there was a discussion in the local FB group with lots of over 40s invited, most at least saying they had no underlying clinical conditions (and at least the person I know out of them has normal BMI and no kids so it's not weight or previous pregnancy related) - SE London.

sleepwouldbenice · 25/03/2021 17:51

Hi
I share your pain as a 49 year old who was eagerly awaiting their turn. I am on the wirral near Liverpool
Even since last week when they announced they were pulling up the drawbridge there have been plenty of cases of under 50s being called, seemingly without a clear reason. So here it really does actually seem to be gp dependent not even regional. So frustrating

Ifyourefeelingsinister · 25/03/2021 17:51

Quite deflated reading this. I am in Edinburgh, and under 55s have yet to be invited. This seems in common with most of the central belt of Scotland - despite the fact that coronavirus figures are the highest in Scotland in parts of the central belt.
