So with the release of figures as of Friday 19th March over half the adult population of the UK have had at least 1 vaccination.

The number of jabs given is March was phenomenal and its likely numbers will be lower for the next few weeks but even if its "only" 100-200k a day thats still more lives potentially being saved!

Those are superb figures for a Monday.

304k this time last week.

mateysmum · 26/04/2021 14:19

For some reason, Scotland didn't report yesterday so that could be inflating today's figures slightly.

true tho it ws around 80k so even then if It was 40/40 then it'd be more vaccines this Sunday Than last weeks

I'm 41 and got my text today, as did my Dh and friends same age - they are moving down the 40s in North Yorkshire!

DdraigGoch · 26/04/2021 22:06

Looking at the Our World In Data graphs, our dosage rates are only marginally below where we were during the surge. Currently averaging 0.73-0.74 daily doses per 100 people compared with 0.80-0.89 in the surge. The Easter slowdown briefly brought us down to 0.46 but we've done very well since.

Sadsiblingatsea · 26/04/2021 22:09

What about all the people having side effects?

yellowspanner · 26/04/2021 22:12

Amazing numbers. Got my second dose on Friday.

TruelyWonder · 26/04/2021 22:18

Side effects are just that the majority of the time. Only side effects. In a pandemic that really is a small price to pay. I don't know anyone with much more than a sore arm or a slight headache. Babies get that with their first jab. That is why they tell you to give the baby calpol 45 minute before appointment.

Plus there are a shed load of threads if you want to discuss side effects. This is a celebration of numbers and talk about roll out thread.

I had a mooch round before and after mine. It was amazing! (I don't get out much!)
CaveMum · 27/04/2021 09:49

NHS website saying anyone over the age of 42 (or turning 42 before 1 July) can now book.
