Still been lurking, but haven’t had anything positive to add! I’m definitely avoiding the rest of the board.

“good” news I have is that those I know are still ok with getting the AZ jab, there’s no “hysteria” in my real life circle. We are all in the 40’s group and just more concerned with “when” rather than “what if x happens”.

@Truelymadlydeeplysomeonesmum - really hope they’re able to help and that you can get some relief soon.

thatgingergirl · 09/04/2021 06:03

Truely I hope you feel much better soon. Flowers

TheChineseChicken · 09/04/2021 06:29

Big hugs, @Truelymadlydeeplysomeonesmum!

BessMarvin · 09/04/2021 06:32

Hope you are doing better Truely

TheCountessofFitzdotterel · 09/04/2021 07:34

Oh Truely! Hope you’re getting better quickly.
Yes you must definitely blame the vaccine you are waiting for 😂

CC1991 · 10/04/2021 19:22

Amazing that the uptake among over-50s is >95% in many regions - much better than the expected ~75%!

Wow, that’s awesome.

Truelymadlydeeplysomeonesmum · 10/04/2021 21:29

Oh dear. I didn't mean to worry people saying about my situation. I just meant to crack a terrible joke about the AZ threads. Sorry but thank you for the kind wishes❤

I am home again. Little sore and tired but four new drugs to keep me comfortable. Two procedures booked in to hopefully sort me out once and for all Smile

Anyway the second doses number today is marvellous. I have seen two different surveys that say even after the AZ clots stuff the general public expected take up has only dropped 2%. Yay

I have to say I am in my 40s and all the people I know have not changed their minds about the jab. The people that want it. Still want it. The people that don't. Still don't.

Hope everyone is looking forwards to Monday. I can't see myself out hitting the shops now but still nice to know things have moved on enough. Two of my boys desperately need haircuts too. Living with hippy harry potter and cousin it with curls at the moment 😂

Rather brilliant ❤
EasterIssland · 10/04/2021 21:39

Sorry does that mean that nearly all over 50s have been done?

Truelymadlydeeplysomeonesmum · 10/04/2021 21:49

It reads to me like people over 50 in general. Not just people in their 50s but I could be wrong.

Yeah but even then anyone over 50 nearly vaccinated so should nearly be rolled into 40 next week ? Sorry been waiting for the call or the sms for a while :)
Truelymadlydeeplysomeonesmum · 11/04/2021 00:25

I agree it does look like they are pretty close to having all the over 50s that what it doneSmile

I am 46 so should be in the next group tooGrin Hopefully I will still be allowed to have it and not have to wait until completely better. Need to ask my doctor.

Truelymadlydeeplysomeonesmum · 11/04/2021 02:04

Between 4 April and 10 April 18,970 people had a confirmed positive test result, which is a decrease of -32.0% compared to the previous seven days.

🥳

Interesting that the northern Ireland figure is much lower but they are doing over 40s there. I wonder if they were able to move down the ages as there were many refusals.
TheCountessofFitzdotterel · 11/04/2021 07:24

EasterIssland, I think many places are onto 40s but they’re going through them very slowly because (due to all the second doses) we’re on more like 100k first doses a day rather than the previous 500k.

Pearl97 · 11/04/2021 10:39

Shall we have a date we think the over 45’s will be able to book on the website? I’m going with Tueday?!

Truelymadlydeeplysomeonesmum · 11/04/2021 13:31

The official priority target is 15th. So the chart shows some younger 50s still to go. So I will say 16th April 45s and overs to book on national system

OrangeBananaFish · 11/04/2021 14:30

May 1st for 40+ to be invited? Sorry being early 40s this is the group I'm interested in for obvious reasons😄

Pearl97 · 11/04/2021 15:00

@Truelymadlydeeplysomeonesmum @OrangeBananaFish
It would surprise you to learn I have quite an interest too!!!
Do we think it will go to Over 49’s first? It did that for over 50’s didn’t it. Steadily went down the ages?

EasterIssland · 11/04/2021 15:02

43s are the first ones to be called *

  • dh is 43 :). Hope we’ve answers soon
Truelymadlydeeplysomeonesmum · 11/04/2021 15:09

You would have thought they will open the national system to 40s gradually yes. Else it would be all out of wack. The over 45s are still at a slightly greater risk after all.

OrangeBananaFish · 11/04/2021 18:35

Of course that's why I suggested May 1st for lower 40s. After the guess about April 16th being 45-49. It is a big group, but some will have had the vaccination already for either work, health or just that their area has started on that age group. Also not forgetting that hopefully first doses should be getting higher again.

TeaInTheGarden · 11/04/2021 22:52

Over 35s some time before the end of May...?? I have a vested interest in this age group 😂😂

chri55ie · 11/04/2021 22:56

The Times is reporting late forties will be invited from tomorrow!! No idea how accurate that is but it’s exciting!
