That is great! 100k first doses per day for the last few days is better than I expected after the drama of the “no first doses in April” speculation

Truelymadlydeeplysomeonesmum · 12/04/2021 08:05

@chri55ie

The Times is reporting late forties will be invited from tomorrow!! No idea how accurate that is but it’s exciting!
Haven't seen that. Will now be testing the booking system all day. Like the Raptors tested the fence on Jurassic Park (Not that I can book yet even if the system allows it but very eager to see it allowed)
chri55ie · 12/04/2021 08:09

I’ve tested it this am no go yet!

Truelymadlydeeplysomeonesmum · 12/04/2021 08:17

I am 46
How old are you?
We probably need a 48 or 49 year old first

chri55ie · 12/04/2021 08:24

Yup that’s me!!!

lazymum99 · 12/04/2021 08:51

I am so glad I found this thread. This one and the stats and data thread are the only ones I’m looking at now. How many bloody side effects threads can be started. What do people expect to see on there. Even the please post if you had no side effects gets people posting about theirs.
I was getting drawn into this pessimism and I’ve had enough

Truelymadlydeeplysomeonesmum · 12/04/2021 09:06

I have side effects from the side effects threads.

In real life we know loads of people that have had their jabs and nobody that has had bad side effects. Even on my local Facebook sites were they complain about everything. Not one person has had a bad experience. Mumsnet is a world of its own sometimes.

EasterIssland · 12/04/2021 09:06

@lazymum99 this mis another thread that is nice and positive :)

Oh jolly good. Keep testing the fence then. Report back if you have any success 🤓

At least we haven’t had any schools threads for a while Smile.

My side effect from the side effects threads was that I was convinced I was going to get terrible side effects so I got myself all set up for it with stocks of paracetamol etc and all I got was the sore arm Grin
herecomesthsun · 12/04/2021 10:05

My 9 year old took part in the vaccine trial for children (currently paused). She was very interested in all the science and has had no side effects from the first AZ dose (fingers crossed).

thatgingergirl · 12/04/2021 10:26

herecomesthsun - well done to your dd! I'm always so grateful to hear of people taking part in any trials (Covid related or otherwise).

Lovely bright day here - have a guy fixing some fencing for me so am holding off going to my local High Street til tomorrow and then to the local pub garden with my parents. They have a marquee if it really is too cold. So glad we're here at long last!

They remind me a bit of the "am I pregnant" threads where anything and everything is an early symptom of pregnancy.
Truelymadlydeeplysomeonesmum · 12/04/2021 15:34

Not covid related but something to make people smile from the parliamentary tributes to Philip.

The former prime minister recalls her last stay at Balmoral when Prince Philip suggested a particular walk for Mrs May and her husband.

"When we got back, several hours later, we were told that Prince Philip did enjoyed the route... but he usually did it by car."

lockdownbreakdown · 12/04/2021 17:29

All my forty something mum friends are being done this week at the local vaccination centre. Three 30 something mums are booked in for next week. Hooray!

BunsyGirl · 12/04/2021 18:17

I’m 45 and have just booked!

BessMarvin · 12/04/2021 18:33

How are 40s booking now? (I'm early 40s so not holding out much hope)

Truelymadlydeeplysomeonesmum · 12/04/2021 18:35

No luck yet

PuzzledObserver · 12/04/2021 18:44

A new treatment option for higher risk Covid patients at home. I was in the trial group for this :-)
