Could not have made up the bit about Bernard Castle!!

Brilliant news this is being produced on home soil 😊

Please reassure this poor wobbler. I suffer very badly with anxiety and have looked at another thread about the AZ vaccine, where many of the posters are panicking about the fact that Canada have paused it for under 55s. I'm sitting here in tears, feeling utterly downcast.

louisejxxx · 30/03/2021 18:40

Great numbers again today - 4000 cases and the % change downwards the largest it’s been for about 10 days (-7.9%)

Just took my ds for his first football training session back today, it was lovely to be out in the fresh air watching him. Hockey for myself tomorrow 😁

Iamclearlyamug · 30/03/2021 19:12

@Reachersloveinterest sorry I didn’t spot this. I started taking paracetamol as a precaution as soon as I got home from the pharmacy, 2 every 4 hours whether I felt like I needed it or not. My arm is super sore and I had a slight headache the morning after but that disappeared in a couple hours and I’ve had no signs since! Hope he feels better now 😊

Firstly how many of these AZ worries have been proven to be wrong now. All of they to date.

Secondly the WHO, EMA and are own experts say that the rate of blood clots are not more than you would expect naturally. In fact they are less.

Last of all please follow this person if you are on Twitter. They are fantastic and will stop you worrying about any vaccine related issues.

Ok nobody ask any spelling and grammar questions 😂

My new years resolution this year should have been to proof read all my posts 🙈

My mum and dad had their second jabs today. I had been getting just a tiny bit anxious about it being available (Pfizer). Bit of a queue at the centre whilst the delivery was unpacked as the van had just arrived!
We had lovely hot cross buns and tea in my garden afterwards!

amicissimma · 30/03/2021 21:49

Truelymadlydeeplysomeonesmum, you've reminded me of my favourite MN Covid quote, from a poster with the username of Fantasia:

"2020 is a shit show but that is no excuse for poor SPAG."

I think of it and smile when things are going haywire 'cos Covid'.

tobee · 30/03/2021 22:05

My good news is I'm wrapping my Christmas presents for my parents who I'm finally seeing in their garden tomorrow!!

Sounds like a lovely day❤
TheCountessofFitzdotterel · 31/03/2021 09:14

Oh I forgot to mention, I saw puffins yesterday!
One was taking a turn at human duty (I think it’s a deal they have done with the RSPB in return for the cliffs being protected) and posing right near the top of the cliff, the other was playing a game where you pretend to be a guillemot where you stand in the middle of a bunch of guillemots facing the cliff and just occasionally turn round and show everyone your puffiny face then quickly turn back again.

Furries · 31/03/2021 10:12

@TheCountessofFitzdotterel - love it, that’s brilliant. I want to see puffins now.

Furries · 31/03/2021 10:17

Yesterday was such great weather, was a joy to get jobs done in the garden. Also visited my friend who I haven’t seen for ages, her young boys are funny and good company, plus got to see her horses which was heaven.

The best sight was four paraplanes flying over while I was gardening - made me realise I’d forgotten how much I like the sound of them approaching. Can’t think of a better way for people to celebrate a few more freedoms - perfect activity for social distancing in a group!

TheCountessofFitzdotterel · 31/03/2021 10:24

That’s lovely re the paraplanes.

I would be interested to know if other people found the same, but it seemed yesterday that even though we were doing something that was allowed last summer (getting a bacon sandwich from a takeaway on the beach, going to an RSPB reserve that was all socially distanced) the atmosphere was palpably different- so much more relaxed and lighter. Last year it felt like we were all holding our breath.

ACovidofWitches · 31/03/2021 10:49

I had to drive a long way yesterday and there were so many people out looking happier and visibly having fun. The change was noticeable. I've seen cyclists out, someone on a kayak on the river, kids out playing, people drinking in groups in the park. Things just feel a bit different.

Only gossip at the moment but looks like restaurants may open for inside eating on 24th or a few days after. Which is a few weeks earlier than the road map suggests.

My son got a phone call from his area manager today about full opening. So either they plan to ignore the government from then on or the government has given them the heads up.

First lockdown my son new when restaurants would open a couple of weeks before it was announced to the public. His chain of 4 brand names have hundreds of restaurants all over the country. The big players like the supermarkets get given more information because of logistics.

Anyway it may only be a hope or something but fingers crossed.

Pomegranatespompom · 31/03/2021 18:37

@Truelymadlydeeplysomeonesmum ooh my DS will be delighted - he asked when we’d be able to go out for dinner earlier.
