I can’t find it. Az has always been 12. Pfizer was 3 but then moved to 12 when we had limited access to it and thought it’d be better more people protected.
But we’re not in that scenario right now I guess
Bookm

TheChineseChicken · 28/03/2021 11:28

Isn’t there real world evidence now that both AZ and Pfizer work better with longer intervals? So the same would presumably apply to Moderna.

TeaInTheGarden · 28/03/2021 11:53

From a vaccine passport perspective, 28 days apart would be so much better for us in the younger cohort....

Does anyone know anything more about novavax yet??

I would also like to get a different jab, not for any proper reason, just because it would be a talking point 😂😂

MissConductUS · 28/03/2021 12:06

They're still in phase III trials and still on track for US EUA in May. It is reasonable to assume the same timeline in the UK.

Iamclearlyamug · 28/03/2021 12:59

Just had my first jab, AZ 😊 hoping for no side effects as I’ve got work tomorrow and it’s not possible to take time off 😂😂

BessMarvin · 28/03/2021 13:06

@TheCountessofFitzdotterel

I am unreasonably excited by the idea of getting Moderna and thus being different and interesting when my friends and family have all had Pfizer or AZ. (Really I would like Sputnik because it’s more edgy but that’s not likely.)
I like the idea of them having personalities. Soon there'll be a buzzfeed quiz. Which vaccine are you based on what sitcoms you watched.
TheCountessofFitzdotterel · 28/03/2021 13:09

Congrats Iamclearlyamug! StarStarDaffodil
Good luck with side effects!

carolinesbaby · 28/03/2021 21:03

How are you feeling Iamclearlyamug? My Dbro had his jab yesterday and ha been feeling a bit rough, sweats and shivering and aches.

If you end up having the Moderna. The correct thing to do is shout "Thank you Dolly" as they jab you Grin. Then sing Jolene all the way homeSmile

Brilliant

Bordois · 29/03/2021 12:36

Wow! That's excellent news 😀

TheChineseChicken · 29/03/2021 12:42

Excellent news

Autumn101 · 29/03/2021 16:22

Catching up and also excited to maybe get Moderna too just to be different 😂

Racoonworld · 29/03/2021 16:45

Cases are below 5000 again today, and showing a fall again.

Did you see where it’s being manufactured?!

FourTeaFallOut · 29/03/2021 19:24

They are being manufactured in Billingham and then shipped over for fill and finish at Barnard Castle. (A drive so easy you could so it blindfolded Wink)

TheChineseChicken · 29/03/2021 19:46

I know, you couldn’t make it up. I had never heard of barnard castle before and now it has made the news twice in one pandemic

Truelymadlydeeplysomeonesmum · 29/03/2021 19:54

Interesting that they had to change where it was bottled. A shame we can't trust the EU commission but better be safe than sorry. Plus the more jobs it creates in the UK the better.

OrangeBananaFish · 29/03/2021 21:08

I drive past GSK in Barnard Castle on occasion. So now the next time I go I can think Novovax is getting finalised in there.

I really can't see why they would start making a vaccine if its not really close to being approved, but then I think people are saying they are still in stage 3 trials.

MissConductUS · 29/03/2021 21:21

They are in late-stage III trials and expect EUA in America sometime in May. I think you'll see a similar timeline in the UK They are doing "at risk" manufacturing with government financial support.

Pfizer, Moderna, and J&J all manufactured ahead of approval with government investments. Otherwise, there would have been none available when the authorization was issued.

NeedingCoffee · 29/03/2021 21:46

I’m loving the fun the papers and commentators are having with Barnard Castle; this one from Have I Got News for You is brilliant Smile

i'm in the trial and it is definitely still at the trial stage but the trial doesn't have to be finished to get approval. Last I heard they were hoping for approval sometime in April.
