Welcome to the new thread! I will copy over links from the previous thread soon.

Please note, this is a thread to share good news and for wobblers to be reassured. Doomploppers will be met with scorn and derision!

Hopefully the leaks will come thick and fast early on to put us out of our misery.

I'm wondering if tomorrows papers will have a bit in them. Going to have a look later tonight just in case. Please please please let there be at least a rule of 6 outdoors. I know we all want schools back, but for me I'd rather have the rule of 6. At least I could arrange to take DD2 (9YO) to meet her friend for a walk like we used to do in summer.

Emlemily · 21/02/2021 18:05

I'm nervous for tomorrow. I work in the domestic holiday industry and I really hope that people can travel in April. I really can't cope with another raft of Easter cancellations, especially as most people are the ones who carried over from last year. Not only that, but the business is on a knife edge as it is. I know that sounds really selfish, but in normal times, it a viable business and. I enjoy my job and I'd kind of like to keep it.

FourTeaFallOut · 21/02/2021 18:11

It's funny, we're all bargaining, aren't we? I'd take the reopening of schools over every single other thing and, if necessary, all the other relaxations possible. Still, you can rest assured, no one's listening to me.

FourTeaFallOut · 21/02/2021 18:14

It doesn't sound selfish at all Emlemily. It's just how things are for you, watching an industry you care about floundering. I can't think of any reasonable person who would hold that wish against you.

Inastatus · 21/02/2021 18:17

Welcome back @fourteafallout

Fingers tightly crossed that we all get a bit of something we are hoping for tomorrow 🤞🏻

FourTeaFallOut · 21/02/2021 18:20

If we don't get primary schools, I'll be the crazy lady in a Viking hat charging down Whitehall.

FourTeaFallOut · 21/02/2021 18:21

Thanks Inastatus! Good to be back.

TheChineseChicken · 21/02/2021 18:31

Hi all. Welcome back @FourTeaFallOut

Not a bad weekend. Weather not as good as it sounded in other areas but mostly dry and definitely warmer than it has been (still cold though).

I’ll be looking out for any and all news of the roadmap tomorrow, especially plans for primary schools!

Me too. If they open for the right year groups on the 8th I've only got another 6 days of home schooling and trying to work. I can blag my employers not to fire me for 6 more days.

If I'm honest I feel like well we have come this far and starting to get used to it and if we wait a bit longer before easing restrictions it means there's less chance of things being closed again especially with the beautiful weather this weekend making it a bit easier to get through than it has been. But that's just my experience not trying to dismiss anyone else's needs. But feels really good seeing the vaccine numbers and seeing my area drop to green on the gov site and I saw the local refugees who had had a huge outbreak out in their camp about which means they must have gotten that outbreak under control now. In other good news I got a dog last weekend and have lost all my lockdown weight already with the two or three walks a day.

amicissimma · 21/02/2021 18:56

If he doesn't give us something like the rule of 6 he's going to find a lot of the country have turned into criminals.

We went to our local town yesterday and on our nice walk today and both places were packed. Every single bench and log and wall had people sitting on it, eating, and nearly everyone walking was carrying a coffee. The queues for takeaways were long, also for ice creams. There were an awful lot of large or two-or-three couple 'households' and some people were clearly welcoming friends to their bench in a meeting-up way. DH and I felt quite law-abiding and boring.

FuzzyPuffling · 21/02/2021 19:05

I can't think of anything I want Boris to say tomorrow. I feel like my life has become so narrow after a year of shielding, I honestly don't know what to do any more.
Eventually I would like a wonderful friend ( who I met on MN but have not met irl yet) to visit.

Welikebeingcosy · 21/02/2021 19:06

Hugs @FuzzyPuffling

MarshaBradyo · 21/02/2021 19:28

What we get tomorrow feels even more heightened than previous lifting of restrictions

I’m so aware of what is gone right now

I going to have to hang out with you all

louisejxxx · 21/02/2021 19:35

I think we’re all in a place now of not getting too excited about what they say they’re doing because of the going in and out of lockdowns - I guess it’s a form of self-preservation in a way, not to get our hopes up too much.

I am praying for schools so I can go back to working normal hours and not having to start my day at the crack of dawn. Also, gyms, pools & outdoor team sports but I am under no illusions I’ll get any answers about those tomorrow!

FuzzyPuffling · 21/02/2021 19:38

All I hope for is to feel better tomorrow. My temperature is now even higher than yesterday. Damn my stupid immune system.

Truelymadlydeeplysomeonesmum · 21/02/2021 19:46

Definitely feels different this time. Struggling in a way I haven't previously. Going to have even more trouble sleeping tonight than normal.

On the positive side. I have sussed something out about deletion of threads. Which may help us all to talk more freely eventually.

Plus Boris and co will have the latest data, research and stuff. Everything is dropping nicely. 1 in 3 adults are vaccinated. All of which means they will have no choice but to open up and release us within weeks. Even if masks and some restrictions last for a bit. Life will be much better than what we currently haveSmile

Ooh truely what have you found out? 🕵️‍♀️

if primary goes back it will make a big difference to how our lives feel. That will be both children out the house during working hours so DH and I can work normal-ish days in peace and quiet. And we’ll all be less snappy and fed up with each other.
TheChineseChicken · 21/02/2021 19:52

Oh yes, do tell!

DobbyTheHouseElk · 21/02/2021 19:56

Fuzzy I’m sorry your much awaited vaccine has caused such mayhem in your body. My friend had hers done on Thursday and she’s reacted badly too. Improving today. She also has a excitable immune system.

I’m also keen to learn of Truly detective work.

That would be telling Grin

I have reported to mumsnet part of it. Going to see if the act on the information

Actually a reminder for me who much I miss working. All those crafty teens that think they are being clever 😂

I was hoping to go back to work after Easter but go the flu after Christmas. It has knocked my health back a lot. Can't see me well enough now until summer. So in my job that will mean September return. Pigging depressed at that. I love my job.
