A continuation of the thread for those of us taking part in the Vaccine trial.

ha ha I'm on a website to buy shares and I just don't know what I am doing .Husband has told me to STOP and he'll help me out later :-)

Got mine. Paid $162.64

Frazzled2207 · 06/05/2021 16:11

I have just bought 2!!!! similar price. Now we're literally invested.

I have no idea what I'm doing. Husband has calmly suggested I don't get carried away.

OP posts:
PleaseReferToMeAsBritneySpears · 06/05/2021 16:14

I've just bought some more at $165. Now I don't look for the rest of the day so I don't see the drop and I could have bought at a lower price!

PleaseReferToMeAsBritneySpears · 06/05/2021 16:17

I bought 2 to start off with - so I could say "shares" not "share"! I've since added a few more.

Frazzled2207 · 06/05/2021 16:20

this is whole new world to me. As it stands I have a profit of $2. Husband suggests I forget about them for at least six months. Ha ha, somehow I doubt I'll manage it.

PleaseReferToMeAsBritneySpears · 06/05/2021 16:23

I expect to leave mine until well into 2022 but that doesn't stop me refreshing the app several times a day!

JosephineDeBeauharnais · 06/05/2021 16:43

I’ve got 10. I love tracking them to see the ups and downs #easilypleased.

JosephineDeBeauharnais · 06/05/2021 16:45

$171 now 👍🏻

PleaseReferToMeAsBritneySpears · 06/05/2021 17:10

I started off with 2, upped to 20 and today added 10 more so I have 30. That's it now. It's all my savings! In the last 10 days I've gone from £800 profit to £1000 loss! It's so volatile at the moment which makes it quite exciting - as long as a) I don't need to sell quickly and b) I only have 30 shares. Some of the guys on that fb investors group have hundreds of thousands of dollars worth. They must have nerves of steel.

I reckon I'm in it for 12-18 months, so weeks like this one when it drops don't matter too much because it will rise again.

One guy on that group posts his predictions every now and then. He looks at all the details like what products they'll bring to market, which countries have placed orders, what they're worth in profit to Novavax, how that will equate to share price etc. It's really interesting. He reckons they'll be over $1500 a share next year!

Then you get others saying OMG, they'll be $300 a share after approval!

As long as it's somewhere in between, I'll be happy!

2nd jab yesterday, I am so achy and heavy muscle feeling today. No headache tho unlike last time :)

BG2015 · 06/05/2021 17:36

I've been for my 5th appointment at Cheadle. Bloods taken.

I was unblinded in March.

They reckon we're close to full on approval. The dr said they were told late April early May, so it could be days away. They are checking everything thoroughly as they don't want the same situation as with the AZ vaccine.

There was also an issue in February with production so that delayed things as they need a large number of vaccines (millions) to be ready once it's finally approved.

The big A4 certificates are only for blinded participants. If you were unblinded you need to ask your GP to scan the letter in that states you've had Novavax and that will then transfer to the NHS app which hopefully can be accepted for travel.

Boosters - he said the government are still undecided about them. He said personally he thinks the rest of the world should be vaccinated before boosters are offered. I tend to agree.

Booked my next and last appointment for beginning of November and then my contribution to science is over!

Omg you ladies are brave. I'm incredibly risk averse so am a bit uncomfortable about buying just two but it's bloody amazing watching them go up and down (more of the former hopefully!) . It must be a really difficult call as to when to sell. I'm going to try and forget about it at least until approval but I suspect I won't manage.

Frazzled2207 · 06/05/2021 17:48

@BG2015
that's great if in theory our nhs app will show as green but I will await further info on that, can't see it happening unless/until approved. I really don't want to cart that a4 certificate and have a conversation in spanish with the spanish immigration person about it. IF we go, which we may not.

My arm is really quite painful and I can't lift it to horizontal. And I still feel shivery and a bit dizzy. I had zero reactions to previous jabs apart from a slightly tender arm.

Do you think you’ve had the real thing this time then? I really am none the wiser still. Hope you recover fully soon.

Definitely, zero reaction last time

CardinalCat · 06/05/2021 20:08

BG, I'm still a blinded participant and I didn't get an A4 sheet- they said they'd never heard of them at my centre! I'm still waiting for a response to my email of 8 days ago asking how I'm supposed to evidence that I've been vaccinated...

I’m aiming to hold mine until next year but I do think there’ll be a big jump on approval, plus there’s their new flu jab too which might show that they’re not a one trick pony and have longevity in their technology.
Whatever, it’s fun especially for all of us who have real skin in the game Grin.

MrsHamlet · 06/05/2021 20:11

No reaction. I'm almost certain I had the real thing last winter

Frazzled2207 · 06/05/2021 20:20

@CardinalCat
I'd be kicking up a bit of a fuss especially as the rest of us all have them!

This has to be good news. 350 million doses of novavax will be going to the Covax programme to be delivered starting next quarter 'subject to regulatory approval' of course. I understand the EU is also close to signing a substantial deal.

OP posts:
Frazzled2207 · 06/05/2021 20:25

sorry correction. Gavi is a wordwide vaccine alliance - the deal will be to send novavax to a range of countries including some via covax.

It's not good is it! We need to have proof!
Frazzled2207 · 06/05/2021 20:35

@BG2015
there is definitely someone in the facebook group in the UK unblinded but got a certificate just like ours but with 2 dates instead of 4. So it's not true that you can't get a novavax certificate if unblinded.

Crazy that not all centres are giving all of us the proof we need,
