WHO report: covid likely not from Wuhan

PicsInRed · 09/02/2021 16:40

Covid not from Wuhan, not there before December 2019 and may even have been imported into Wuhan/China in frozen food.

Definitely, 100% not from a lab but may have mutated bit by bit and crossed different animals and borders whilst doing so in order to reach the current covid we know and love.

So there ya go. Hmm

OP posts:
CrackOpenTheGin · 09/02/2021 16:49

I will always believe it came from that lab. What are the chances of a pandemic starting close to a virus institute Confused and all those scientists were killed to keep something quiet.

BentBastard · 09/02/2021 16:50

WHO also being the organisation that told us there was no evidence of human to human transmission?

Literallyfedup · 09/02/2021 16:57

If covid did not start in China then why Chinese authorities did not allow international investigation for months. And didn't they say that patient zero had covid in November and WHO says that there were no cases before December. And if it did not start in China then why pandemic started there first, shouldn't it have started from where the cold chain food was exported?
Anyways I always expected WHO to give a clean chit to China after the investigation - so no surprises there.

Longdistance · 09/02/2021 16:58

WHO is probably in China’s pocket.

EvilPea · 09/02/2021 17:01

We are / were never going to get the truth on this one.
China lied every step of the way. I do think it was animal Based. But I don’t think we will ever know the truth of it

MarthaWashingtonsFeralTomcat · 09/02/2021 17:07

Ok then WHO.

strawberriesontheNeva · 09/02/2021 17:08

I don't believe that's true.

MrsPear · 09/02/2021 17:09

Who also don’t believe that biological sex is real.

I don’t really know how people can be surprised. They went to a non democratic communist country had a guided tour and came back with a ready written report. Well of course!

Alwaysandforeverhere · 09/02/2021 17:10

Who needs to climb out pockets. Nobody’s going to believe their story and it just makes them untrustworthy as a thing.

lljkk · 09/02/2021 17:13

OP misrepresented the headline.
Extremely Unlikely to be from a laboratory is the big message -- Wuhan or otherwise laboratory.

vaxmeup · 09/02/2021 17:13

I still believe it was accidentally leaked from the lab, spread by an infected researcher(s). China have had over a year to get rid of any incriminating evidence, so of course the WHO wouldn't find anything in the lab at this point!

OliveTree75 · 09/02/2021 17:14

Yeah whatever you say WHO

MySocalledLoaf · 09/02/2021 17:19

There’s labs working with virus in every university city. Probably there’s one close to where you live.

amusedtodeath1 · 09/02/2021 17:19

That's what WHO are saying, but I'm not sure I trust WHO to be neutral tbh. I'm not buying it.

JaneNorman · 09/02/2021 17:23

I don’t believe any of their report.

lljkk · 09/02/2021 17:24

those of you who think it must be from the Wuhan lab * -- do you think that's because the Wuhan is super unusual in the world or the Chinese have unusually bad lab security, or especially nefarious desires to make nasty viruses?

I mean, why Wuhan and why now when it never happened at Harvard or John Hopkins or Norwich GMO labs?

*I ask because I enjoy creative fiction

Puzzledandpissedoff · 09/02/2021 17:24

Looking on the bright side, I'm sure it'll earn them even greater funding from China Hmm

Beaniecats · 09/02/2021 17:25

Rubbish, cover up completely

maddiemookins16mum · 09/02/2021 17:25

It’s man-made.

BentBastard · 09/02/2021 17:25

I don't think it must be the lab at all. I just don't have much faith in WHO findings after the debacle in January.

Beaniecats · 09/02/2021 17:26

@CrackOpenTheGin

I will always believe it came from that lab. What are the chances of a pandemic starting close to a virus institute Confused and all those scientists were killed to keep something quiet.
Also this virus is intelligent its behaving in a way to suggest some man made intervention or modification

Because they tried to cover it up to start with and refused to share what they knew or let anyone inspect and the who also tried to say it couldn’t be passed human to human.

I mean a reception child could write a better cover story than the who have Grin

Orangeblossom1977 · 09/02/2021 17:30

The food packaging for further investigation sounds like China trying to put the blame on elsewhere...

Puzzledandpissedoff · 09/02/2021 17:33

Rubbish, cover up completely

Ah, but to "cover something up" the WHO would have to have found it in the first place ... which perhaps wasn't likely with the Chinese regime

itsgettingwierd · 09/02/2021 17:36

Can just about believe it didn't come from a lab.

I don't believe it started somewhere else and just happened to become a pandemic that started in Wuhan.

If that's the case - that it came form elsewhere - surely we'd have seen the illness spreading there first? (Admit I have no idea about that!)
