@FuzzyPuffling hang on in there. You will be up soon!!! We are soooo lucky in the U.K. My ex PIL in Italy haven’t heard a whisper and they are elderly. My family in the Netherlands ditto. It’s annoying being so close but it will happen soon. Spring is on its way Daffodil

FuzzyPuffling · 14/02/2021 15:30

I'm hanging on! Thank you all for your calm and cheering messages.

HalfDutchGirl · 14/02/2021 15:55

Keep the faith @FuzzyPuffling here's hoping you get yours very soon Flowers

15 million! Wow, just that, wow!! Grin

FuzzyPuffling · 14/02/2021 16:02

Can you book in tomorrow when they open the CV category online? Apologies if not, Im not 100% on UK news, just hoping for the best.

The talk on the news was that group 6 will be done by GPs, not hubs. I suppose GPs know who is CV or not. (Didn't stop me having an optimistic go at the NHS booking website this morning, but computer says no)

Truelymadlydeeplysomeonesmum · 14/02/2021 16:07

Less than 11k cases today? I know it's Sunday but that's the lowest number for months right?

BunsyGirl · 14/02/2021 16:25

@starfish88 Yes! And my part of Essex has gone green on the map! And Suffolk has gone completely green!

Frazzled2207 · 14/02/2021 16:26

yes was just thinking that. Not since September don't think. In the coming days I think we'll go below 10k which is a massive step forward.
Look at the 7 day average stats which i think are more meaningful cases are down 28%
deaths are down 25%
hospitalisations are down 25%
I'd hope at least the last two will accelerate a bit as the vaccination programme kicks in.

Also my county has finally turned light blue .Rutland is the only burgundy one that I can see now.

TheCountessofFitzdotterel · 14/02/2021 16:29

October 3rd I think, and Sunday isn’t generally the lowest of the week for cases, which follow a slightly different pattern from deaths, so it is a wonderful figure.

Frazzled2207 · 14/02/2021 16:31

also if you look at the hospitalisation numbers it's quite exciting for the north west (and other regions too). NW is now just below the peak of both last april and october, in both of which we had about 3,000 in. Now down to 2631 and going down by an average of over 100 per day. A fortnight from now we could hopefully be down to very low numbers.

Truelymadlydeeplysomeonesmum · 14/02/2021 16:32

There I was thinking if we are lucky we would start seeing cases at around 10k by 22nd. Looking like are new average will get there a lot quicker Smile

Apparently I am to pessimistic for this thread Grin

TheCountessofFitzdotterel · 14/02/2021 16:35

Yeah Truely you’re such a doom monger Grin

louisejxxx · 14/02/2021 16:36

Omg might we see our first day of below 10000 cases tomorrow?! That would be so exciting!

Frazzled2207 · 14/02/2021 16:37

I'm sure one of the experts was on earlier this week and saying that we needed to move down to the 'single thousands' of cases before thinking about easing restrictions. Well we might be there this week.

Truelymadlydeeplysomeonesmum · 14/02/2021 16:42

We should be in a very good place by 8th March.

Boris will have no choice but to go ahead will starting to open up.

TheCountessofFitzdotterel · 14/02/2021 16:54

Last Tuesday was 12364 so if it’s not tomorrow it will probably be the day after.

FuzzyPuffling · 14/02/2021 18:09

I won't know what to do when things open up!
What do you actually do in a supermarket?

Frazzled2207 · 14/02/2021 18:11

Lol. Wonder around very slowly deciding what I might like to have in my fridge this week. Seriously it’s currently the highlight of my week

TheCountessofFitzdotterel · 14/02/2021 18:13

Do you wear glasses? They steam up in supermarkets so you can’t see anything. It adds to the excitement.

FuzzyPuffling · 14/02/2021 18:15

I do wear glasses (thanks measles). I shall be blundering around, shan't I?
Actually, I think I'll stick with online deliveries.

Pomegranatespompom · 14/02/2021 18:25

I’ve decided to have a strict lent to lose the lockdown weight. I’ll really look forward to wandering around the supermarket before Easter weekend and buying lots of lovely goodies: mini eggs & chocolate orange Malteser rabbits are going to feature heavily.

It will be so good to go out for a sunny lunch, in a new outfit purchased from a non essential shop. Hopefully soon after, we’ll be able to go on holidays.

FourTeaFallOut · 14/02/2021 18:39

People do this, don't they? It's a pattern now.

Prior to any major event or turn in this pandemic, those with oppositional views come out swinging, right up to the point the event is inevitable. Tier changes, lock downs, schools closing, schools opening, vaccines being licenced, vaccines being rolled out.

And all this noise has no bearing on the outcome. I don't know why I have engaged with it again. It'll pass - just as soon as it happens.
