NB Please don’t take this too seriously- it depends what vaccine delivery speed and uptake you estimate so it’s not written in stone.

Thank you for the new thread!

@tobee

I'm still checking out *@sailorrooscout* and Twitter coronavirus good news.

We all sat and watched Dr John Campbell last night!

Masked Singer on catch up (after Dh gets home from dialysis) for the family tonight.

Hmmm

Did dr Campbell give any good news he used to depress me Smile
goldpendant · 06/02/2021 21:48

Checking in with good vibes!

Spiratedaway · 06/02/2021 21:49

@TheCuriousMonkey

Love the good news. My personal good news is that all my parents/step parents/parents in law bar one have now had their first dose, as have my two front line health and care worker siblings. Plus my area is green on the government map for the first time in ages.

And I am chuffed to bits with the NHS and the amazing vaccine delivery. I felt quite emotional seeing queues outside our local testing venue the other day.

Did they have any side effects ? My dad 74 had it and got chills etc tonight
NeedingCoffee · 06/02/2021 21:55

Place marking and could anyone remind me of the link to the vaccine tracker (the black screen with the constantly counting ticker)? I can never seem to find it when I want it.

@NeedingCoffee here it is:

spirited the only one who got side effects was my sister who had flu symptoms so bad she needed a day off work. Otherwise I think everyone has been fine.

Wherediditgo · 06/02/2021 23:18

Vaccine-wise my mom had hers - she is 71 and had the AZ and my sister had hers - in her 30s but she has Down’s syndrome and she had the Pfizer

Wherediditgo · 06/02/2021 23:18

Absolutely no side effects with either except a slightly sore arm

Wherediditgo · 06/02/2021 23:20

@Pomegranatespompom

Do you mean that people now think we might be able to mix before 2025? Gosh that’s optimistic 😮
In our microcosm of MN then yes - it seems so!
Pomegranatespompom · 06/02/2021 23:24

Must not go on other threads 😂

tobee · 06/02/2021 23:31

@Spiratedaway it was all good yesterday because he was talking about the good results from Sputnik V! Generally these days he's quite calming. He's realistic. I like to sit there pretending I'm vaguely intelligent.

Good news Part 9
Truelymadlydeeplysomeonesmum · 07/02/2021 01:59

Data collected on the first rollout of the Covid vaccine justifies the Government's decision to delay the second dose, according to an expert.

Professor Anthony Harnden, of the joint committee on vaccination and immunisation, says those already given the jab are experiencing high levels of protection from their first dose.

And the data, set to be published next week by Public Health England, shows infection rates in those over the age of 80 have fallen in the past month.

starfish88 · 07/02/2021 02:09

I tried to explain that on another thread and was told I was wrong. Good to know all the scientists are too!

Hope George feels better soon!

Truelymadlydeeplysomeonesmum · 07/02/2021 02:12

You can't always argue with stupid but good on you for trying 🥰

Truelymadlydeeplysomeonesmum · 07/02/2021 02:17

Just copy evidence from this thread or the last and paste it on another thread

I do that all the time. Hopefully nobody here will mind.

I used Pom's Tracey from Facebook the other night 😂 Naughty but needs must.

Just seen you took up the baton from me there! Great job!

I did wonder how the 1 vaccine vs fully vaccinated thing works with things like the Mmr. DS got the 1st one as normal but was delayed for his 2nd because of covid but I still assumed he was sufficiently protected. If it hadn't been for covid we would have traveled internationally during that time and he would have been in nursery exposed to all the other little vectors. I wonder what his protection from those diseases was like? I assume good because when I was a kid I missed my 2nd mmr because we went on holiday and my mum forgot to catch me up. I finally got the booster when there was a mumps outbreak at uni. Didn't catch any of those diseases but I suppose low community levels helped then.

Truelymadlydeeplysomeonesmum · 07/02/2021 03:15

I remember they used to say don't do baby swimming classes until they have their first vaccination

Love the daft anti vaxer that say stuff like. Their baby doesn't need vaccinating against polio because it isn't a thing now.

Wonderful why that is🤦‍♀️

tobee · 07/02/2021 03:28

I go through phases of calling them out. And phases of "I'm wasting my breath"

Misspacorabanne · 07/02/2021 03:49

Just place marking for some positively!! Grin

ChocOrange1 · 07/02/2021 04:51

Missed the end of the last one so sorry if this has been shown already.
