Any idea when the vaccines might start for this group and how they'll be divided up ? It's a big group !

For those unpaid carers I phoned my GP today and mine do keep a list of carers so worth phoning them .

@ofwarren

Just started group 6 here on the Fylde coast North West England. Having mine tomorrow as a carer.
Really? That’s brilliant news. I’m in Blackpool and my DH is in group 6 and desperate to get vaccinated as soon as possible. Fingers crossed he’ll hear something soon.

I'm having mine on Sat! And I am pretty sure it's because I'm on the list as an unpaid carer.

If you book online via the nhs website, even if you haven't received your letter, if you are eligible you can book. I had my jab last week but only got my letter this morning. I am ECV.

Ditto, on the Fylde here too. You’ve just made my year (last year too 😁).

Yes of course. It is ch.14a of the Green Book that needs to be updated though as that is what the NHS / GP surgeries are going by.

Thank you, AsthmaChecker

May I ask where people are finding out what groups are currently being vaccinated in their area?

Florelei · 10/02/2021 12:47

I was just wondering if there was any update on this. Has anyone else in group 6 been called yet and if so what general area are you in please?

drspouse · 10/02/2021 14:20

I was jabbed on Sat but I think I posted already. I'm in the NW, near a previous poster who also has been jabbed and is also in Group 6.

Genderwitched · 10/02/2021 14:36

So pleased for all of you being vaccinated, I can sense the relief!

I'm in Group 7 so not getting mine for a while, but I'm so excited.

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 10/02/2021 14:36

If it's any help, my husband could be group 5 or 6 (he's 65, has a couple of pre-existing health conditions), and he got a text on Monday offering an appointment at a hub. He had his first jab yesterday. Got text from medical centre today offering appointment there (has obviously let them know he doesn't need it now). Inner London.

I think I'm Group 8. Some time to go for me, probably!

Boulshired · 10/02/2021 14:38

My area still has not completed group 4, they reported 50% of over 70s done on Friday and no figures for CEV. But on a positive they have had a good uptake in over 80s and over 75s. But there are some worried over 70s locally, not because of waiting but that restrictions might start being lifted before their immunity begins.

There was an update on my surgery website this morning, to anyone who had received a letter adding them to the shielding list (following the news about the use of QCovid algorithm to look at extra risk factors which has added 1.7m to the shielding list)

It said that people getting that letter would be prioritised ahead of those in Group 6 who haven’t got these extra risk factors....they included BMI over 40, ethnicity, postcode suggesting deprived area.

The way I understand it, is these 1.7m are in Group 6 or above (apparently over half have already been vaccinated due to age above 70) so what is essentially happening (apart from the request that they shield...clearly the biggest deal in it all) is that Group 6 is being along into 2 - those more at risk in it which have the medical factors, but also other things which in the QCovid formula gives them a higher risk, and those that don’t.

I suppose it means if you’re Group 6 without other risk factors, the jab might take a bit longer to come to you, if you weren’t invited before this all happened.

I’m in that latter category of being Group 6 but not having the other risk factors so not expecting to be asked to shield. On one level I’m a bit disappointed as my jab might be delayed by a week or two, but I am really glad not to be in the higher priority group which has more risk and is now asked to shield, which is very difficult.

Has anyone in here had that letter today asking them to shield or been reading the other thread which is running about the extension to the shielding group?
